BUY SEASONS AND CITY LIVING. with seasons, not only do you get weather, but you also get to experience holidays like christmas, thanksgiving, and a lot more. It also comes with a lot of great build buy items. city living has an amazing world because of the variety of apartments it has. and all of the festival’s are really fun to attend. all of my sims r in san myshuno just bc the world and gameplay is great.
i do agree with City Living, but could you tell me how to make my seasons gameplay more fun? it kind of feels boring and it doesn’t impact my game enough. also, so many features are cosmetic :(
@@anonymouslol7010 sure! with seasons you can become a florist and plant flowers/own a flower shop. it comes with a bunch of different seeds for flowers/food and you can make a career out of it. also when it’s snowing, making snow angles/building snowman is always fun to do especially if you’re a kid. when the holidays arrive, you can decorate your whole house/apartment and even do things like sabotage the grand meal. you can have a bunch of friends over to sing holiday carols, and have your sims dress up and going to houses to trick people.
The only one I have to agree with is high school pack… the whole thing was a big disappointment. But the island living and snowy escape are one of my favourites!
i like the worlds of island living and snowy escape and i use sulani a lot since i t looks similar to where i live but gameplay in island living is very boring. the mermaids are probably the worst occult in ts4 since they felt the less developed of all the occults.
People just had really high hopes for mermaids and more gameplay (sims3 for example always got A lot of everything) and ea somehow always manages to ruin a really great concept for the game. Also depends on what you like
@@daealexalaurel3588 if you’re on PC look for the mermaids expanded mod (think thats the name) they still aren’t as fleshed out as other occults but definitely improved
I do love island living and snowy escape for the reason that you can take your sims on holiday there. I just wish the franchise would add cooler features for vacations like hotels and more activities
@@Lemonscloset oh you should be able to, you just have to make one of the lots into a rental and they would be able to stay there during their vacation like an airbnb
My sim got expelled in the high school pack for “skipping school” she was a minute late to class bc she went to the bathroom then couldn’t go back to school at all 💀
One thing that would have probably improved High School Years is a class schedule. Being able to sign up for classes that help build skills passively through studying. For instance, a biology class could help with logic and gardening. Even being able to switch out classes every few days for new ones and having specific requirements to get into some classes. Making it challenging and a little realistic yet rewarding.
I feel like aside from this, they still added wayyy much more gameplay then they did with any other pack. This is just minor stuff that nobody really cares for tbh
I only have to disagree with Snowy Escape. I really like that one. I did not enjoy jungle adventure that much because I prefer sending my Sims on more relaxed holidays. I really like that Snowy Escape has "normal" holiday activities, like skiing, hiking, relaxing in an Onsen and going to festivals. Of course it could have been better. I would prefer hotels over rental homes and I might have liked it more if Mount Komorebi was like Salvadorada and not a world you can live in because as it is now, there are always so many sims from other worlds over there (and of course, Judith Ward) that it kind of ruins the feeling of going to a different country. It has become the only world I use for going on holiday as it has some activities that you can only do in that world, which makes it worth a visit. However, I really enjoy skiing irl, so maybe that's the reason I like it so much.
My sims live in mt Komorebi...it's always a mess before getting them that cold immunity reward trait and I love it 😂😂😂 it's like, let's see how many days 'till this sim d!es
I keep hearing bad things about Island Living but I still want it. I want mermaids and a coastal world and island elementals and the build/buy is so fun
Actually, I have it and it's really not that bad! Playing as a merman is actually kind of fun and the tails are very pretty, and the clothes for swimwear are actually pretty good
Don’t listen to people that say it’s bad, it adds one of the best worlds and the mermaids are a lot of fun. I really enjoy it. The only packs that I actually do NOT recommend are: The Star Wars one, Jungle Adventure, Strangeville, High School pack and Get Together. I use most of all the other packs, I especially love the disliked Get Famous, but I love to play as celebrities and level up their fame so I could be biased about that one.
If you are a PC player...you should get the mermaids expanded mod created by spinningplumbobs it will really add amazing depth to your mermaid gameplay ❤
I love mermaids...in The Sims 3. While the Island Paradise EP is broken, it is very fixable with mods. I would recommend buying that over Island Living.
High school years comes with the bunny social tho. I think it's pretty fun checking sims' socials. also sims can now ask you to be partners instead thanks to the pack i'm just too tired of being the only one chasing all the time. and i just love anything high school-y so overall i love it. very nice build and cas stuff as well. gameplay wise, i actually like bringing my sims to high school bc it's like other active careers but there are more ppl. and sims can build potential long-term relationships/friendships from high school. i like that.
i also don't know why ppl hate on it sm i recently got it and i think it's one of the most fun packs like the thrift shop and exactly the trends, the acne, the building items also make it 10x more fun
vanilla HSY is bland and boring and glitchy and wierd. However, unlike for many other packs (cough cough still waiting for any gameplay mods to improve Snowy Escape cough cough), HSY has a good bunch of mods that make it lots more bearable and fun to use.
I just bought High School. I already knew the problems and cons, but I have to tell that I was SOO impressed and excited while in the CAS, even if I watched many videos here. So if you really like that part of the game, it still can be really nice, imho.
bros yapping because i actually thing i would only get high school years for the build mode items and the after school activities ur sim can do and island living is also a good one because u get to go on vacation and theres actually caves and houses that on on sand then half water and snowy escape is like very good in my opinion it was one of my best gameplays and best expansion pack that actually worked for me and yeah i just feel like hes yapping in my opinion
Who is coming up with these expansion packs?! Can they let an actual player help them create it because it seems like they just don't get it sometimes 😅😂

I definitely disagree with Snowy Escape. It is an incredible expansion pack. The world is stunning. The CAS and build/buy are beautiful. It's nice to have a pack that's not so American like most of the traditional packs. The gameplay aspects are fun. Not just skiing and snowboarding but also sledding, hiking, sight seeing, rock climbing, visiting the onsen, weekly festivals, eating meals with family and friends with the kotatsu table. Overall it is a great pack with A LOT of rich culture to explore! Absolutely would recommend (although I wait for sales to buy almost any pack as you can often save 25-60%)
Ngl I adore high school years.. the build mode and cas are so good, and the gameplay just adds more to the overall feel of the sims (i usually play with teen/young adult sims so i might be biased)
I love the high school years personally. The hair and clothes are way more fashionable and abundant. And I love the option for teens to meet each other and join after school clubs. I love the grade system and it makes the university application more realistic rather than just auto yes to uni.
I think your going off of gameplay, because snowy escape has the BEST build stuff. High school years was really good for cas and build too. Not so much for gameplay :/

I also love High School Years, also for the furniture, but I also really enjoy the game play. I've never had any issues with it, so I don't understand why everyone says it's buggy.
I got High School Years, Seasons, and Island Living to make my game more realistic, so far, I like Island Living because I love islands and mermaids, I wanted to get Seasons because I wanted my sims to experience all four and be able to decorate for each of them, and I added high school years because when my sims have a baby, I want to play as her even when she’s at school, it depends on what you get them for, and what you want your sims to be able to experience as they get older.
Imma still get high school yrs cuz that look like the only worthy ex pack to me with actual family gameplay. I feel like ppl would just find anything to complain about lol, the pack don’t look as bad as ppl making it seem tbh
I love High School Years. I play with teens a lot and it makes them so much more interesting. Plus I love the rest of the gameplay. And I use the build-buy so much!! Its the first pack for a while I've been really enthusiastic about.
Highschool and discover university are obviously cash grabs which is why they aren't both together in 1 pack. How does it make any sense to buy more then one $40 pack if it'd both just education and school related. I think it's so bogus and that's why I'll probably never buy them
Wait why do people hate high school pack??? Teens literally were basically young adults and now they are a lot more interesting. Most people were begging to go to school with their sim, and the clothes/build stuff are rlly cute. Not hating on others opinions, this is just mine.
i really thought i would like hsy but it was so boring.. like snowy escape it had really good cas and build mode but thats really the only thing i use. i dont follow the sims to high school. i use island living for family photos and weddings because one of the only good parts of island living is the gorgeous world.
I love Island Living and Snowy Escape lol… Island Living is one of the packs I always recommend to people. The world is gorgeous. Snowy Escape comes with a lot more than just skiing and snowboarding lol, it also comes with a new really cool world, new skills, new aspirations and traits, new CAS and Build items.. etc
Tbh. I like the other features with high school years. The cas and build mode items are really pretty. And the more realistic teen features are really cool!
Honestly I like all of them. I think the only reason I like high school years is because it is not broken for me. Everything works and I think it makes the game more realistic. Only thing I wish they added was actual football games. But other then that I always find a way to use the pack and I think it is pretty fun
Idk how ppl can find HSY pack good whatsoever, full of rabbit hole and the main gameplay is BORING AF, that was the last straw for me to stop playing the game, still watching your vids bcs I enjoy the fact that you're not trying hard to find something ''fun'' in the game, when it's bad it's just bad, simple
I really disagree with snowy escape. I think a lot of the expansion packs other than cats and dogs can be very boring without additional packs, but the world that snowy escape gives you along with CAS and Build items are totally worth it.
I actually like Snowy Escape and Island Living.. more for the worlds though there’s a unique setting compared to all the North Pacific American worlds lol and I use them more
I only like the snowy escape pack for the families that come with it, one of the characters from there is in my played family for most of my save files lol
I personally don’t care about how bland the snowy escape gameplay is, but I just love the vibe of my. Komorebi so much that it has to be one of my favorite areas in the sims 4
My husband started playing TS4 this summer and island living was a great “beginner” pack because of exactly what you said, there wasn’t a lot to do. Great place to learn how to use the controls and your sim won’t accidentally die of frost bite.
Here are the packs I’m gonna get. Island living: for the items and the world. Highschool: the world itself Cottage: the world and the windows City: literally everything Seasons: the windows and the textures are amazing
