@@Daiska_Plays yes. They could have. If they had released the sims 4 properly all the way back in 2014. Had actually good quality control from the start. They absolutely could have done it. It’s nearly impossible now, since they’re like 100% used to half assifying their entire game catalog(not just the sims). They take advantage of modders more like. With the mentality of “oh, this doesn’t work? Eh why waste resources trying to fix it when we have modders in our expansive fan base? They’ll always do it anyway.” Even if the base game was made fine, EA can still do things like this. Modders can do it, figure out what works and what can break a game and successfully make a mod to avoid making the game worse is mind boggling. If EA studios could pay attention to detail, properly test, and assess their DLC, updates, and patches we wouldn’t have this problem. Also, they could have a dedicated team that works on the many…many…mannnnny underlying issues of the entire game itself. It’s a multibillion dollar company I see no excuses to the level of neglect the sims 4 suffers.
EA should really be embarrassed by now. For years the modding community has been creating and providing HIGH QUALITY mods that replace, repair and in cases where EA has opted not to provide something, the modding community has forfilled those, to. Without them and all the talent, entertainment and quality work they provide players, sims 4 would most likely not have made it this far. Respect to the modding community! 👍 ♥
they arent embarrassed they are laughing to the bank knowing these people give these out for free, they dont have to put in resources bc people do it for free.
Oh no, you have it wrong... we should be embarrassed. We're giving our money for mediocrity, complain for months, buy the new release, and start the process over again lol. The sad thing is people are still excited about Sims 5. Dine Out was never fixed and it was released TWO YEARS after the sims 4 was released. 7 years and we are still talking about the same broken item.... EA IS extremely HAPPY!!!!
It's a mystery to me how the developers can't manage to get their own product (Dine out) running properly even years after release, but a free mod fixes most of the problems and adds features along the way.
My must haves are: MCCC, Relationship/Pregnancy overhaul, Realistic childbirth, Wicked or wonderful whims, carls dine out , and don't wash dishes where you angry poop.
MCCC + IU Cheats Extension + More Columns in CAS - Everything that stops annoying and unnecessary autonomously actions 😂(drink water, situps, swimming, singing, mixing at bar, etc.) - NO CC on random created Sims (townies + CAS) because it's ALWAYS a mess - Every other MOD is an "addition" to me like faster + autonomously homework (yes, here it's okay!), faster eating + cleaning + repairing and stuff like that
Another mod i love from spinning plumbobs is the mermaid mod! It got updated with new content fairly recently & it's absolutely awesome! cant reccoment it enough.
1. Everything from SimRealist is incredibly well done and by the way it's not one creator, it's an entire team. 2. ItsKatato handed all her mods to other creators because she got hired by Maxis and wasn't allowed to continue to mod. I use her preteen mod that was adopted by adeepindigo. I felt a little sad when you said abandoned because that sounds harsh, she didn't want to stop modding she just had to adopt them out 😅 3. I also use like half a dozen of adeepindigo's mods. They are quite cool. 4. Lumpinou is by far my favorite modder. I use almost all of her mods but I wouldn't be able to enjoy this game without her Relationship and Pregnancy Overhaul and her LGBTQ+ mod. Those two along with First Impressions guide a lot of my gameplay. 5. Chingyu's mods are mostly stuff in the background as well as traits. Their Age Up Add Preferences mod along with Helaene's preferences plus mod also majorly direct my gameplay.
I'd recommend you try the Simnation travel mod which changes the traveling function: you can only travel if you have passport, purchase a subway ticket, you can get drivers' license, etc. I love the Language barrier mod too which allows you to learn the different languages of the different worlds so the sims do not automatically understand eachother, and get moodlets when interacting with "foreigners". :) I also love the Dental care and Eye care mod for their realism, also the Relationship and pregnancy overhaul. Illnesses are missing from the game and it adds so much to it!
Also, I love the university application overhaul mod too, so that the sims actually have to make an effort to get into college and not awarded with the opportunity immediately upon graduation.
Wish there was (is there?) the possibility to have the original "holding your hand" aspirations with the mod aspirations as the last/long time goal. I like both ideas. And suddenly miss perma platinum state from the Sims 2. Anyone remember that?
i wish they implemented the curseforge sims 4 program in the console sims 4. theres skyrim and fallout mods on consoles, and those games are so old. they could let console players have mods *somehow*, they just dont want to :/
The aspirations mod looks awesome ! Thanks for sharing, I think in the future it might be helpful to put links to all the mods in the description of your video :-)
Modders really bring joy to the game! Have you tried "Expanded mermaid" by Spinningplumbobs? Mermaid are so dull in the game. This mods brings nice things, a new type of occult (kelpies), some mermaid lore and specific spells! :)
I love the Lifetime Aspirations mod, but I still personally like having traits as a reward more than a permanent moodlet. I kinda like the realism that the SNB Bills have although I hope that it doesn't conflict with Carl's gameplay overhaul mod that also changes bills (it's also a good mod if you want more challenge/balance to the game). Also a quick shoutout to one of my favorite mods at the moment, Meaningful Stories by roburky is such a gamechanger that makes emotions feel more "realistic" and having emotional inertia really helps avoid the instant switching of emotions.
Oh I just love you, honestly the only simmer that keeps it 100% real and doesn’t pander to EA. I like a few of the other sim RU-vidrs but you have honestly come on top for a while now pardon the pun
Adeepindigo’s new active babysitter career is public and it is really cool, it’s just for teenagers and university students and it would be great for a storyline of a teen that starts as a babysitter, when they grown to young adult they can have a family aspiration, they can go to college to become a preschool teacher and after graduation they can work in the active daycare. The writer career overhaul, made by Adeepindigo too, makes the base game writer career more realistic without been overwhelming. And freelance chef from the same creator is really chill if people are tired of the base game cooking career. Currently trying the online teacher career and cybersecurity career. I haven’t play with those mods enough but they are definitely more challenging ways to play with at home jobs. Not recommend if the player prefers their sims to get constantly promoted and become rich quickly, theses mods require the sims to gain several skills and complete different requirements, especially the cybersecurity career.
I can vouch for all of these except the witch vs. fairy one and that's only because I haven't tried that one....yet. There is also a cool mermaid one that does something similar. Not sure if you tried that one out or not but its by SpinningPlumbobs and its called "Expanded Mermaids."
I don't like how the aspirations only have one goal. How are you supposed to earn the points? And working to one goal isn't realistic... in reality, people have small goals and long-term goals. No one thinks about just one end goal, or else they'd start to get depressed after a while when it takes them too long to reach it.
I wonder if there are any mods for a full on sci-fi expirience. Like complete with new careers, smuggling, new worlds and making Batuu a worthwhile pack to have bought?
Unfortunately there is nothing quite like that. If you are interested in a sort of Cyberpunk experience, you might want to have a look at Llazyneiph‘s mods. In his Cybernetix mod, you can equip your sims with cyberparts, that will give your sims certain advantages but also risks (like viruses or even cyberpsychosis). Llazyneiph also has other gameplay mods like the royalty mod and, since quite recently, the Survivor mod. Every mod comes with custom items and custom functionality. It also puts restrictions in place to create a more immersive and challenging experience (i.e. no walkbys, true OTG, etc.). I‘d recommend checking it out. It‘s all public release.
I love slice of life but for the reason it adds a bunch of interactions that look out of place is what makes me try to stick to only things like more personality and better memories from that mod.
The lifetime aspiration mod is really interesting but it changes your game so that when you do complete an aspiration, you no longer get a reward trait. Instead you have to buy it in the rewards store. I actually really don’t like that. And the new aspirations don’t give you reward traits either. So the mod makes the aspirations take longer to complete, yet at the end of it you don’t even get a reward. You could cut out the middle man and just buy up the reward traits instead of bothering with different aspirations. It’s a cool idea but I feel like the removing of the reward traits from the completion of the aspiration makes the mod a no-go for me.
The aspiration and daycare mods look great, I might grab them haha, but like I need more mods hahahaha! I have the dine out and simda dating mods, I love them.
if you want to download the fairies vs witches mod but dont have realm of magic dw beacuse the mod still runs fine its just missing a couple interactions and extra gameplay without realm of magic
my must haves for gameplay are relationship and pregnancy overhaul and meaningful stories. they make sims feel like they have actual emotions instead of constantly being happy or energised
The SimDa mod is gonna be the perfect companion to my underground bunker 100 baby challenge where she can't go outside in the sun. I knew of the mod, but didn't know about the one night stand part. Thank you!
Thanks so much for explaining the real estate/snb bills mod! Definitely convinced me to try them. I know you don't usually play with kids and teens, but if you were looking for some more mod review ideas, I'd LOVE to see some mods centered around them! HSY was such a disappointment in terms of introducing new teen gameplay, I'm desperate for some good mods! Especially since I don't have the Growing Together pack (waiting for a sale...)
Saving this for when there's a patch for the face bug. I am so upset right now as an EA employee told me on the forum that it is by design that I can't launch the game offline. I am not installing that broken patch, so I cannot play 😢 Not your fault, but I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening
I agree. EA not allowing full offline play anymore is disgusting. I used to be able to keep Origin offline for weeks. So the EA App is such a downgrade. I haven't updated yet either, that face bug is too far for me.
@@Fragmented_Mask I hope they fixed it in today's patch. My game automatically started repairing today when I opened the EA App. I have it set to NOT download updates for games but apparently they don't respect settings.
For the love of GOD why didn’t EA let us play as Chefs in our own restaurant??? NOR include it as a career you could travel/interact at like the Detective and whatnot. Really disappointed me, so glad I found this video
My question about the aspiration one is how do we obtain aspiration points along the way, then? We no longer have whims, which were a pretty reliable way to get some points quickly. The wants rarely give you more than 25 points at a time, and there's no good way to earn enough points for rewards without the milestones. I kind of miss getting aspiration points just for having high needs, tbh. lol
Honestly I own all of the Sims games from 1 to 3 (except a couple I don't care for) but after buying Sims 4 on release, I just pirated everything else. It doesn't deserve my money, and I honestly buy it like 3 sessions a year cause it doesn't capture my attention 😊
⁂✹✹✹✹⁂ I still prefer World Advantures But these are basics I would like to do in my modding: 1. Custom object interaction giving moodlet and mood points 2. If skill point is something then it displays message (e.g. go left, go right) 3. Random messages upon interaction with object (I have pseudo-rabbit hole lot) 4. Spawn object 5. Dialog box that upon entering names with comas show from list of entries added to txt file used by script name of entry containing string - display message ⁂✹✹✹✹⁂ Spawning sims to make interaction would be considered a feature and not tweak average could do.
With the lifetime aspirations mod do I need to have all the packs? Or do the new/modded aspirations add themselves as I slowly buy them all (I’m always waiting on a sale to buy an expansion or game pack)
Lifetime Aspirations is broken slightly atm after GT and infants. Plumbobs no longer change colour and neither do need bars when they are low. Unsure when it will get fixed. It is not game breaking, just incredibly annoying
I personally prefer the Sims 4 aspirations than the Sims 2/3 because they have more tasks we need to do in order to complete them. And its possible to make our own aspirations with Sims 4 Studio and Mod Constructor. It's a good idea to have aspirations about the doctor career and the retail system, I'm learning how to mod and I want to add them in my game too, but with more tasks.
I’ve tried installing the SimDa mod so many times but it just never shows up in my game for some reason😢definitely my fault I just don’t know what the issue is😂
these aren't basically official, these are interesting, in depth and are things we've been asking for... that's as far from official sims content as you can get. ok jokes aside cool vid, thanks for the recs
I currently really like the Pre-teen mod by adeepindigo that basically adds the tween phase to the game, along with junior high school. it doesn't run as smoothly as i'd want, but i blame my huge mods folder for that, but i like that with the mod teens are shorter and actually look young, but they gradually start growing into young adults as time passes. It's a nice addition to the game
The daycare mod wasn’t so much abandoned as it was given to another creator when Kotato got a job with the sims team. They also did the pre teen mod before getting that job too.
I’ve been having issues with the Dating App. It’s in my mods folder and shows up in the list of cc/script mods on startup, but the app just isn’t showing up in my Sims phones
Make sure you have the newest mod version installed. Apart from that, it might also be another mod (i.e. sth. Interfering with your phone menu). Check the mod notes for known incompatibilities. I hope you find the issue.
