Same happened to me by a trooper, and a Sergeant in Connecticut state police just recently. No avenue for redress available in Connecticut for citizens.

Exactly. It's ironic that the plaintiff in this case was a piggy union rep . He's the type of cop that makes sure bad cops get away with whatever they want.

They blame “the process “ and “bureaucracy” for the unconstitutional and artificial length of time TAKEN, not NEEDED, for a SUSPECT to receive their constitutionally guaranteed opportunity for due process. Law enforcement has glorified the act of being “hard on crime” to the point that a properly operating system of deterrents and enforcement simply is not sensational enough for each department to sustain job security. In essence, if very few laws are broken, arguably because law enforcement, meaning those who enforce laws, which in turn are articles of deterrence upon the citizens of a municipality, is very effective, then by definition they are doing their job at a level which should be exemplary of the duty. To simplify, when police are doing their job to the best of their ability, very few if any laws are broken, as indeed, the mere presence of the police officers within the jurisdiction of a particular municipality, is ostensibly meant, designed if you will, to deter its citizens from disobeying the laws applying to said municipality. It has often been said that a great manager appears to be doing little to nothing, and with this notion I concur. The very term “manage” means to handle, deal with, perform the duty of seeing to it that the needs of the entity being ma aged are accomplished. If they have their hands full, most often they are behind the proverbial 8 ball, ill prepared, for their duties. Not always, but often. So, the major problem we have in these United States is that policing agencies are not revered for having a very low crime rate, to the contrary, they are in effect punished for having very little in the way of crime to fight in a manner which is reactive, a manner far more prone to noteworthy documentation, observation, or of higher drama than proactive means. And as we all know, low drama gains little attention, and little attention gains little notoriety, which in turn leaves the agency in a state of equilibrium at best, or regression of “resources” at worst. This is the opposite of the way these facilities should be sustained. Such low crime rate departments should indeed be rewarded for such a status, not to infer that a department with a high crime rate should be punished with a withdrawal of resources. One does not necessitate the other, yet, it would seem that a whole nation believes that every story before their eyes has only two conclusions, this, or that, yes, no, wrong, right, right, left, and no in between. How wrong can a nation be? The brutal truth is that existence IS the grey area in between. Remove the motivation for notoriety, and our system of law enforcement nationwide will miraculously “clean house” and quickly and not so spontaneously become exemplary as an agency of deterrence against citizens breaking the law, and since the details will have been addressed, the rest will sort it self out with inarguable results and a reality based system of management. No drama, no corruption, no bad cops, no subjugated citizens, no us against them attitude between law enforcement and the citizens it is tasked with protecting and serving. Amen.

As a veteran, I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I firmly avow that American police are the first or second most anti-American organizations in modern America.

The lying and not ability to turn it off once expected and tolerated as part of daily job is something to wonder about.

But the integrity was related to a butt hurt chief, and had there been real proof there would have been a real IA investigation. and if he was guilty you could trust the result.

They can lie to a suspect during interrogation while investigating a crime. They cannot lie to citizens about matters of law, nor can they lie while testifying under oath. Of they do all of that and none of it should be allowed but they seem to get away with a lot.

​@@CounterSniper67AND they cannot legally lie on a written police report, which is signed under pains and penalties etc., and considered to be the same as legal testimony.

We also weren't afforded the rights to the Constitution. Remember that oath we swore!! Police aren't Military!! Thank God! If they were then every citizen would be justified to take up arms against a military force used against its citizens! I hope you know that amendment!
