Walk Off the Earth really made a name for themselves with their unique style. They stood out among countless bands on RU-vid by blending some really clever creative videos with their top-notch musical skills. They've got a knack for doing things differently and it definitely catches your attention.

First time I had a chance to see this group perform, I didn't go due to back issues and it was standing room only. Wish I did, shortly after that Mike (beard guy) died. I was heart broken. I have finally seen them a couple times and each time was amazing!!

The purpose was to do somrthing different. And it worked. Theyre internationally known for their original music and tour extensively. They put in a great concert Watch their original Red Hands and the unedited version. They are out of the box thinkers for sure.

To answer your question of "Why?".... A lot of bands have great voices and can play instruments, but what bands/artists are this unique? If you want to get noticed, you have to deviate from the norm. If they only sang the song as you suggest (sans 1 guitar), it may not have been a viral sensation. They're talented and creative in spades; always mixing up songs in ways that nobody else dreams of.

@@denisesf5 Yeah, if he reviewed Rush's song "YYZ Live in Rio", his response would probably be this: "I guess you could say these 3 guys are talented and can play instruments and all, but shouldn't they have written some lyrics for the music?"

Never needed to happen? Really that is the first comment you are going to make. There is a lot of needless stuff happening on earth that doesnt need to happen but if artists want to do a cover differently i dont think that is a needless thing. They could have just made a normal cover of it and moved on but instead they did something memorable that also kinda launched their career as world traveling musicians.

Cap Dude doesnt think this is cool. Art needs a reason to exsit? And ANYBODY can play individual instruments in a band. NOBODY can do this. So yea...whatever.
