Okay, wrap up of Colin! He can sing, draw, is unhealthily beautiful, dorky, has that incredible accent, plays one of my favorite characters in all fictional worlds AND likes reading?! I don’t think this man can be anymore perfect.
It's been almost 11 years since we were introduced to Colin's Killian Jones aka Captain Hook in OUAT and his portrayal still has the same powerful effect on me (and my heart) it had back then. All the thought and work Colin put into this character was easily felt in every scene he was in, even the shortest ones. He was such a complex and amazing character and watching him on his journey from young idealistic lieutenant to ruthless pirate to the man of honor he was, seeing how much courage he showed letting go off revenge and allowing his heart to care and love again was so rewarding. No one could have brought him to life the way Colin O'Donoghue did. At least not in a way that would have made me care this deeply for this fictional character.
I wish he kept his accent on the show. It's only a slight Irish accent. It's enough to have its own spice to the character's already charming nature. We have two aussies and a scot, as well as a slew of English people...why not add an Irishman?
that's what i thought but captain hook is traditionally english so they thought they should keep him english im guessing.. but if he was irish then it would show emma has a thing for irish men
+barbaro267 i dunno, i guess also because hook was a villian then and often in america the bad guys are english because their accent sounds intimidating (im not beig racist coz im english and im not saying all americans think that)
i love how when he talked about the cartoon version of hook he says it's "slightly different" than the portrayal in OUAT. LOL ya think? after all, you're pretty stinkin' good looking and he's not.

The whole Irish thing is what drew me to him and former OUAT cast member Jamie Dornan... granted their irish accents arent the same cause Jamie pronounces the word "heart" way different than Colin but this show has made fall in love with both Graham and Hook.... they're both just hot guys wwith sexy accents.... and yes i agree with whoever said they were liking him more than Jack Sparrow... im guilty of that now too
true... not everyone in England have the same accent there are different versions just like here in America we have different accents for different regions... then again I think Jamie Dornan grew up in both Ireland and England so maybe thats why his accent differs from Colins... but they're both such gorgeous men and i could listen to them talk for hours :)
Colin O'Donoghue is so handsome, talented, charming and humble! He's got beautiful blue eyes, his accent is flawless and he's a wonderful actor. He's an Irish dreamboat. 💘😍😍😍😍
Barrie really did describe him that way, "In a word, the handsomest man I have ever seen, though, at the same time, perhaps slightly disgusting". It's perfect. I can never decide whether this guy is good-looking or not before I'm put off. Also "not wholly unheroic". He's also swallowed in the jaws of a crocodile at one point- though he does come back to life. Wonder what that means.
When I saw his name whilst watching the show I knew he was Irish and was so happy, this show is great, having had someone from Northern Ireland and from the Republic. Oh, he is so devilishly handsome >< I love him so much, so adorable and funny.
It's so strange that when I was a kid, every time I would watch Peter Pan I'd be like "Ew, not that gross pirate again!" and now, every time I watch Once Upon a Time I'm like: "Omg where's Hook, the love of my life?"💗💗💗💗
I'm from the Netherlands, but I study English. You can hear it sometimes in very small speech, but it's mostly American English that he speaks, rather than the Irish accent which he uses here.

One of the most attractive things about Colin is his love and devotion to his family. Refreshing and very attractive qualities for a part time swashbuckling pirate!
Well you succeeded. Captain Hook is certainly the most charming in every way. His personality is gold.I think he was portrayed perfectly. He’s so charismatic, and the perfect pirate. You can totally tell his darkness is different then everyone else’s. Everything you said about the character is so clear to see. Well done.

I was actually talking to someone today about one of the reasons people like fairy tales or shows like ONCE, films/books like Harry potter etc because it's an escapism, exactly what Colin says in this.
so basically he made his version of hook to be like as if he were the sober son of Jack Sparrow.. I mean theres the w hole "so you've heard of me?" line t hats sooo Jack...
Actually he was asked at comic con if he based his interpretation of Hook on Jack and he said flat out no. He said his main inspiration for the character was The Dread Pirate Roberts from The Princess Bride.
I fell in love with Killian\Jones aka Captain Hook when they showed him on his very first episode in season 2 and shipped him with Emma from their first beanstalk scene together!!
I love Colin so so so much 💖😍. He's the perfect man, he's very talented, handsome, charming, nice, sweet, funny, smart.... And Hook is one of my favorite male characters of all time.
I know there are a lot of beautiful, strong female characters on this show (Emma, Regina, Zelena, Mulan, Snow, etc) but Hook is by far one of my favorite male characters. (Rumple is a close second) He's hot, he's Irish, and he smolders when he is Hook.
