Rest in peace, Sinead. I sat with you in a therapist waiting room in 2010 (Eccles Street, Dublin) as I faced disclosing the sexual abuse of my childhood. We spoke for 10 minutes, and having asked me why I was in therapy, I opened up somewhat to you. As your doctor beckoned to you, you came over and instinctively gave me a hug. A sign if one was needed that you were an empathetic and deeply caring human being. Tnx Sinead, thank you for your hug that day. John Allen
That's a lovely memory for you John, thanks for sharing it, a moment of kindness. I really feel the outpouring of grief here in Ireland, it's real, we all knew what she went through and what her rebel soul did and meant to us, she is a hero, rest now dear Sinead, you deserve some peace.
that"s so true. I'm still grieving for this beautiful soul, that was treated so badly by the world. No wonder she had mental issues. What has the world done to this angel?!!! . I find it very hard to give it a place and continue living my life, knowing that she's no longer with us.
@@martinejacques2683 - Sinead challenged the Patriarchy in a loud and clear voice when at the height of her considerable performing career. She honestly wasn't in it for the posh lifestyle, and hated being judged as a potential penis ornament. Everyone knew how good she was. Then she attacked; and she came out swinging her fists and channeling those Banshees the Irish speak of. Now that she's passed on, anyone who has the interest can check online and see - she was right; she wasn't mentally ill when it came to the words she sang so well.
Thank you Sinead for your Beautiful music and your beautiful soul. Tonight, my thoughts and prayers go to you across the mikes; I also lost my son, nothing compares to the heartbreak - the sense of loss. Each day as I pray for my son, I will also pray for your son, and for you. God bless you; I ask our Mother Mary to spread her mantle of love and protection over you and your family. 🙏💚☘🇮🇪🇺🇲

Joan of Arc of our times. Still I’m sad daily. Still I revisit her music and my heart aches. Fierce Warrior-ess Soul Angel. Sing in Peace ☮️ beautiful soul warrior.
Du wunderschöner irischer Vogel, Flieg jetzt, Flieg, wohin Du immer hinfliegen wolltest. ❤❤

RIP, dear SInead. This album is pure genius and one of my all time favorites. The world has suffered an enormous loss, but heaven now has your courageous and divinely angelic voice for eternity. ♥🙏❤
Sinead was and is, a lighthouse that shone a light on the Catholic Church's dark hidden abuse and into the once repressed Irish psyche. She changed Ireland, she changed the Catholic Church. RIP🌟⭐🌟
😢😢😢😢💔💔💔 i have Loved this woman since I was 19 years old.... It brings my soul to tears. Just to know that she was so misunderstood.... Rest easy beautiful lady you will always be with me!!!
'They heal the wound of my people lightly. ‘Peace, peace,’ they say, when there is no peace.' This was spoken twice by the prophet Jeremiah, (about 600 years before Jesus came): when God repeats himself, He means business. This is the Father's heart for all of his children who are treated unjustly by those who take the role of 'shepherd' over them. He is a God of justice and mercy; the True and Good Shepherd, who sets to rights and holds to account.
Beautiful Sinead. When she made Nothing Compares to You I bought her record. When I see her singing it, it makes me cry. My grandfather was Irish. What a wonderful tribute to her at her funeral. I knew she had problems in her life but now I have found out why. A horrendous time as a child and ongoing. And she was strong enough to speak out. I was brought up in England in the RC religion and the controlling nature of that is not correct for young people. When Sinead died my feelings of sadness were also that she was at rest with her son and peace had finally come to her. God bless you Sinead and your son.
Nonsense. She was severely bi polar. She was a phenomenal talent. She got a ton of work over the years. She worked with dozens of famous singers and alone. Her mental issues likely caused by severe abuse by her mother made her extremely difficult to be around. She seemed to spiral in latter years and I knew when her son committed suicide, she would soon leave us. She was Ireland’s greatest female singer of all time. May she Rest In Peace.❤
@@Paulco67What is seventy bi polar? Regardless, you do know that a doctor diagnosed her over the phone as bipolar based on what he’d heard about her on social media, right? He was totally wrong.
@@melaniekhan8113 I do know that she spent a lot of time in St Patrick’s Hospital. It’s 5 mins from my home and was one of the first psychiatric hospitals in the world when founded in 1745. I do know that, according to a music producer, Sinead caused mayhem when recording “but once she sang, all was forgiven “…She was a simply brilliant singer that I’ve followed closely since she sang Heroine with The Edge, from U2, in 1985.
@@Paulco67 actually she was misdiagnosed as bipolar over the phone & based on what the Dr had read in the papers. She was incorrectly medicated for bipolar when she in fact was not. Sinèad herself stated that. What she was correctly diagnosed with is Complex PTSD ❤️
@@LaLeMay I think we can both agree whatever issue she had, it manifested in songs like “Troy”… which is off the charts good and many others. As an Irishman, seeing her read the Proclamation of the Republic and cry tells me all I need to know. She was someone who “got it” on many levels…
Some people said she was crazy. Well, in a crazy world where Govts spend billions on weapons of mass destruction who's to say what crazy is? But that voice - so pure & so heartbreakingly beautiful. Tears every time!
I am too late to know how beautiful her songs are, starting to dig through youtube of her performance after she passed away. Rest in peace Sinead. Thank you for the songs❤
Theology is truly an artistic and spiritual masterpiece. Sinead, the depth, beauty and significance of your creative expression is a precious gift to our planet. Bless you.
Sinead, I can't believe you are gone, you were always the one I looked up to. The world is a sad place for me today. RIP my Angel (you were too good for this place)
I feel you but I wouldn't refer to it as either but rather as having the potential to take one to heights or depths depending on how they dance with it ...
Her death was not a suicide after all it was natural causes. This is my favorite Sinead O’Connor song because it feels so prophetic. I know she wasn’t a Christian however, the lyrics of this song seems so apropos for the times we are in ”they dress the wounds of my poor people, as though they are nothing ,,,,,saying peace, peace, peace, where there is no peace .”
An angel on earth you made an difference to this world by bringing awareness so much love and respect for you Sinead O'Connor you gained your angels wings fly high in heavenly peace 🕊️🕊️🕊️
Listening this every 2-3 years, and my eyes are wet. Blessed be the memory of this amazing artist who has endured as much as he could. And managed to bless us with her creativity in the meantime.
You are something beautiful Sinead, with the voice of an angel. Nothing but admiration for you, darling girl. Rest in perfect peace now sweetheart. 🕊️🙏🏻🕊️ ❤
She was a gift to us I hope her angels are lifting her higher & higher with her son with eternal joy heavenly music 🎶 in gods loving light it’s emotional saying farewell Sinead must be such a loss to her family & loved ones 💙
Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you! Beautiful magnificent Sinead, your soul’s song touched the core of humanity, it was truth song that the soul understands. So saddened by the loss of your magnificent and generous life that created such art that will move us all to the end of time. ❤😢😢xx
I wanna make Something beautiful For you and from you To show you To show you I adore you Oh you And your journey Toward me Which I see And I see All you push through Mad for you And because of you I couldn't thank you in ten thousand years If I cried ten thousand rivers of tears Ah but you know the soul And you know what makes it gold You who give life through blood Blood, blood, blood... Oh I wanna make something So lovely for you 'Cause I promised that's what i'd do for you With the bible I stole I know you forgave my soul Because such was my need On a chronic christmas eve And I think we're agreed that it Should have been free And you sang to me They dress the wounds of my poor people As though they're nothing Saying "peace" When there's no peace They dress the wounds of my poor people As though they're nothing Saying "peace" When there's no peace Days without number Days without number Now can a bride forget her jewels Or a maid her ornaments Yet my people forgotten me Days without number Days without number And in their want Oh in there want And in their want Who'll dress their wounds Who'll dress their wounds
