#Allabouttrains Following the successful weekday trials during the last hour of passenger service on the North-South Line since 28 March 2017, we will be carrying out all-day trials on Sundays for about two months, starting 16 April! This means that trains departing our depots on Sundays will be controlled by the new signalling system for the entire day of service.
With the new signalling system, we are able to increase the capacity of the North-South and East-West Lines with the introduction of up to 57 new trains. These trains are fitted to run with the new signalling system.
We have exciting news to share with everyone - the first of these new trains will begin operations on the North-South Line this Sunday for our full-day trial of the new signalling system. You definitely wouldn’t want to miss it! We’ll be sharing more in due time - keep your eyes peeled for it! 😉 Meanwhile, here's sharing some sneak peaks of the new train!
