Welcome to Singapore 🇸🇬 FYI , - chewing gums in Singapore isn’t illegal but importing, buying & selling is (except medicinal gums); - the sign you mentioned are warnings that what’s behind & within the compound are restricted property (eg military or sensitive installations) but you can film or take a photo of the signs; - Fort Canning was an old military fort during WW2. So some installations are possibly still restricted; - Don Don Donki is a Japanese hypermart; - a couple items you pointed earlier were Korean / Japanese / Chinese characters; - the fruits on the tree are jackfruits; - monkeys can be found some of our parks but not at Fort Canning park; And you guys are hilarious!

Hello! I just watched your video! Posted 2 weeks ago so - I hope you two had a wonderful time in SG! Otters in SG! YES Singapore has otters and WE LOVE THEM! At first we thought there were no more otters in SG (it was thought they left when govt massively cleaned up the Singapore River in the 70’s), THEN we saw one late 90’s swimming in the clean Singapore River happily eating fat fish! 😂 Singaporeans were keen to see him again (yes he was male fondly called “Bishan Dad” as he was seen in an area called “Bishan”). The next time he was seen, they were two! (One a female!). As time passed we saw them have several pups! 🥰 Another group of otters was added (the Zouk Family as they were a group of mum/pop/pups seen in a place called “Zouk”). Lastly, the Marina Family and yes you may have guessed it-seen in Marina Bay. There are signs around town coz many times these groups of otters are seen crossing streets/buildings to swim in water parks/swimming pools but also sometimes they are just lost trying to navigate around SG. You coming from Fort Canning Hotel - the sign there is probably to inform tourists early on about what to do when you see otters, not bcoz otters go uphill 😎 Singapore loves its otters! There are channels in IG and YT dedicated for SG otter-spotting 😊

Cory the name of the fruit hanging on the tree at 29:15 is called Jackfruit , in India we eat it as a vegetable when its fresh and green (by adding spices) and as a fruit (because it tastes sweet and savory) when it gets mature and ripe. In Hindi it's called "Kathal".

Michelin used to produce travel guides to promote traveling around each country on their tyres, a portion of those guides were recommending restaurants where they would rate their experience there. I guess it took off, got really popular and now today it's still a coveted award a restaurant can achieve! 👍

If no one else has said, those giant, spikey, yellow fruits are Jack Fruit, and taste a lot like tutti-fruity. If you ever get a chance I highly recommend trying! Make sure it's super ripe. When less ripe you can actually use Jack Fruit as a meat substiitute, but you need to like... oil up your knife to cute it because it's SUPER STICKY.

The footage from your trip to Singapore last year is awesome. I still like watching it now. Neat to see what another country looks like through video. I, too, like dragonfruit, but it's a huge shame that they're overpriced practically anywhere outside of Asia. I mean, a single dragon fruit costs like $4.99 at Publix (I live in Florida) and Walmart. Speaking of Walmart, I wonder if Don Don Donki is practically the Singaporian equivalent of a Walmart Supercenter, but has more food tenants and is much better than Walmart itself? If so, that's so cool. Would like to check that out one day if I were to ever travel to Singapore. Another thing I would like to check out if I were to ever travel to Singapore was that Michellen star restaurant. I mean, those seafood pancakes just look so tasty. By the way, Daiso stores have, in fact, made their way into the United States nearly two decades ago. There are currently over 90 Daiso stores here in the US, in seven different states, which are Arizona, California, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington. Apparently, they plan on opening another 110 stores here probably around 2025, this also includes opening their first stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Colorado, Utah, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

Welcome, do hope you travel outside of the city center and try out local foods at our hawker centres. Gums are not illegal to possess or consume, just illegal to sell/purchase while in the country. It's a thing for locals to bring in gums from other countries, especially from our neighbour Malaysia. The signs you saw with the gun is just to prevent trespassing. There may definitely be consequences but no one will be shot. Public transport is very accessible and friendly to use, as well as being much more affordable than taxis. If you want to see wildlife in the city, maybe go to some of the larger parks and nature reserves. If you want to experience local culture more like Little India, we have Chinatown and Kampung Glam near the city centre. Do stay hydrated and maybe wear sunscreen too and have fun in the city!

From what you're describing, weather, people and nature...not rules... It sounds pretty similar to Hawai'i. Glad you're enjoying your trip 👍❣️ My husband had a 15 hour lay-over in Singapore, but he was stuck in the airport the whole time💔‼️ He finally made it to China Tuesday, local time (a day late). Luckily, it's a business trip👍. We have dragonfruit in Hawai'i 👍‼️ In main tropical area, plants grow off each other, in symbolic relationships! That looks like it might be a Banyan Tree. From what I looked up, I couldn't find anything about why there are signs about why you are seeing the signs about not filming, (other than, Singapore, protects their Minors much BETTER than the US does💔). Most stores have anything you need👍‼️ Same as an ABC STORE, here in Hawai'i, for tourists 👍‼️ The lights remind me of floating jellyfish✨❣️Don Don Dondoking (sp?) It's like Singapore's version of Target😂! Found this on Google 💫The Bishan Otter Family, also known as the Bishan 10 and previously known as the Bishan 5, is a family of smooth-coated otters that reside in Marina Bay, Singapore. The otters have become a popular attraction since they were first spotted in 2014.💫 Stay hydrated ‼️ 💞ALOHA FROM HAWAI'I 💞🌹 LYSSA 🌹

There might be otters in our parks because the otters r adapted to city life in singapore so we spot them there. The otters here even run across streets and go into condo apartments here so yes the sign is relevant lol

Guns are not allowed in SG, so dun worry it is safe in SG. We don't speak with a British accent. 😅 You should try the dragonfruit with the red flesh, its nicer. Otters go everywhere in SG, you get better luck in parks where there are ponds or you can see them in rivers.

I wish I can guide you if you visit Malaysia. Your impersonating Singaporean is a bit funny. They might be a Commonwealth country, once ruled by British and learn BrE, but they have their own English, we call it as Singlish (Singaporean English), a fusion of English and Malay/Chinese word and intonation. That big fruit is jackfruit, or relative to jackfruit. Some said it is super food. Animal that look like squirrel around Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand most probably not a squirrel. It is treeshrew, a close relative to primate rather than rodent. We call it "tupai" anyway, the same word we refer to squirrel because both look almost the same. Weirdly enough, most of our flower smell nicer when it is night time and did not have any smell during the day. Most, not all.

0:16 noooo... hahaha, We don't have guns flying lose in Singapore! I feel total freedom in Singapore, as a female I could walk out in shorts and purse in hand at midnight for supper! I could go for a night swim at the beach and no one would bother me or my bag left on the shore. Ps: the official sign of a military man shooting, is a symbolical message that the area is restricted and protected, strictly no entry allowed. It used to be placed to msrk military training zones, but now often used to zone out areas with restricted infrastructures such as communication towers/ control stations for the train stations etc.
