Singaporeans Try: Malaysia's High School Leaving Exam (SPM) 

As someone who took SPM in 2021, these questions are the simplest questions of each subject….

These questions are very simple, SPM 2021 was seriously hard, you guys should try that paper instead, many addmath questions were hard especially paper 1. I just like that is a better representation of what Malaysian kids have to be tested on nowadays. The questions in this video are mostly 1mark questions in objective.

SPM isn't the hardest in Malaysia for high school leavers. It's STPM, UEC or A-Levels. In fact, it's easy. I spent very little time studying it yet I scored very well.

As a Malaysian that has worked in Singapore with a Singaporean SO, I was a top scorer in secondary without much effort at all. (I’m really trying not to sound arrogant, I am extremely mediocre at best, but Chinese parents really push u to score which is probably why I did really well- I’m not trying to put down others who did not have the same privilege or had family issues such as monetary issues etc) SPM was really easy for me, and I can’t even imagine how easy it would’ve been for my Singaporean friends. Personally STPM papers were the hardest exams I’ve ever done, with the time constraints and the stress that came with CCA. I showed some form five (spm) papers to my SO (who is the smartest person I know 😂) and he said most of the syllabus is covered in Singapore when the kids are 12-14 🥹

Aida and Renae still turned out to be brilliant human beings despite Aida having a more easy uni life and Renae having a less demanding primary school curriculum. Makes me wonder if all the stress we put our students through is really worth it. If i know that it would be alright in the end i will definitely choose the easier path. Less fuss. Less complaining. Less resistance to life in general.

One possible reason this was hard for them is that they didn’t take the subject or they forgot the concept despite taking the subject when they were schooling.

Can I just say, that these questions are not really representative of “SPM” questions though. A.Math (if it is additional math) for example, there’s integration and differentiation and so much more, um ??? SO if people say it is “too easy” well, it’s because it is not even accurate. Sorry, a bit salty, but I am Malaysian and i know out education system isn’t the greatest but it is not that easy okay, and sometimes the subject material is hard but the bellcurve makes it easy because there’s so many underperformers, unfortunately and it is through no fault of their own, not everyone has equal opportunities to excel at school.

I think you could also start with High Order Thinking Skills questions in primary school. See how crazy they are.

I took my o levels over a decade ago, i feel like this was much easier than o levels…

im a form 3 student and i can say those questions are extremely easy ex : questions 1 we learn that in lower form while question 2 we learn it during standard 6 bro .....

For question 5 can use arithmetic progression, first term 150, common difference is -4, Tn=22 150 + (n-(-4)) = 22 150 - 4n = 22 4n = 150 -22 4n = 128 n = 32 Answer 32nd week

The first question is straightforward. When estimating the sum rounding up to 10s, always add an extra zero on the sum.

Question 2 can be easily a 6 to 10 marks question. Never liked bio essay 😭 and add maths😢

Question 2 has more than 1 answer, honestly step 1 can be the answer as well, because the slicing also determines the rate of water loss from the potato. Really depends on how you explain lor

I recommend u guys try Brunei PSR (primary school leaving examination) people say it's hard because you need to finish 60-80 question in only 1 hour and the banks, army and goverment gives you 25 SGD each subject you ace.

It's either I never learned, or I completely forgot about matrices. And looking at solution, it's no wonder.

I find the question relatively easy. Potatoes part was due to personal experience making potato chips heeeheee.

When we go to sec 3 we are to chose our subjects and we’re forced to take English Chinese Social studies and E math and damn I was also forced to take A math which the steroid version of E math and then I had to take a humanities and at least physics but I also took Chem

I believe if they study beforehand these questions will be easy.... I also didn't study these things for years and already forget even the basic concept...

i remember taking the SPM back in 2015. been a while now so i can't really for sure which parts are easy and which aren't. idk about you guys but i definitely didn't get no straight As here lol. I'm quite a dumbo lol. i think mine was like 5 As out of 10?

STPM is the hardest exam in Malaysia. Spm is just high school final exam. That's why people thought it hardest exam

Is not PSLE - Primary School Leaving Examination? LCE is Lower Certificate of Examination, PMR Penilaian Menengah Rendah SPM is Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia, MCE - Malaysia Certificate of Examination. HSC is High School Certificate, STPM Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia.

Malaysians kene faham, dorg 16 thun amik o level. O level dorg lebih susah dri spm yg kita amek time 17 thun. Jgn bwk STPM, sbb A level dorg 2-3 levels higher. Ni semua fakta so jgn terasa. Dorg mmg pentingkan pelajaran.

if you know anything about cooking, step 3 is the most important. that was a classic question from my batch. i've been cooking for long enough to say that osmosis won't do jack shit. a bit funny for a science topic to completely ignore actual science (america's test kitchen have done so many experiments about moisture and frying, you dont have to take my word for it).

Its just a math and not additional math question. Thats gonna be way tougher.

me as a SPM 2016 this question are easy😂😂.. but SPM 2020 and above when i solve it make me angry sometimes because the critical thinking part are so high level😂😂😂

there would only be like a few of these simple questions in spm I'm pretty sure it gets rly hard once u reach part b and c in the paper

SPM in general is very easy and lacks proper moderation. This is why social media constantly flocks with straight A students everytime SPM results are released. In other countries, ull see like at most 20 straight A students per schools. In Malaysia, ull see 2 classes worth of straight A students.

Would anyone believe that I managed to coached my 2 nephews (different year) get Grade A in addmaths even if I do not understand addmaths? Even with tuitions their marks were below 50%. I only had 2 months to polish up what they already know. Incredible I know.

Spm is not Malaysian high school exam. Our high school exam shall be STPM.
