Looking at a 20UX143 in minty condition however that version of the 20U lacks the needle position switch, I wonder if you think that is a major issue for general purpose sewing? love the videos! Gerald
I think the main use of a needle positioner is in the making of a button hole also the positioner will allow you to sew near the edge of an otherwise wide foot. Good luck in your decision, I hope my modest offering will help some.
personally I love the needle position switch, great for piping, zippers. I find it just let me get a little closer and easier to keep piping tight. IMHO
Just bought one of these last weekend. Tough basic machine, and versatile for all sorts of general purpose sewing. It's like my Singer 237 Fashion Mate, if it went to the gym and bulked up. Also this is my first clutch motor. Is it normally really stiff to turn the balance wheel by hand on a clutch machine? It takes what seems like an uncomfortable amount of force, but if I adjust the motor up to loosen the belt tension, it starts to slip at times. Is there some sort of trick to learning to live with the clutch motor or something? I cleaned and oiled it real good, so without the belt on it turns super easy.
Good day . I used a translator, I apologize in advance if something goes wrong. My question is: can the sewing machine zinger 20U33 (green) embroider the same way as 20u33 Professional (blue)? thank you in advance.
Yes but it is a challenge and the machine may need some adjustments to perform well. Feed Dog height and profile should be checked and also foot pressure.
did that machine have a knee foot lifter ?! if yes i read in their instruction book that you could change the operating of that knee pedal to control the width of stitches instead of foot pressure if so could you please make a video on how to do it please
You have a great sense of humor. Thank you for this video. I bought the blue version of this machine 20 plus years ago to help out a friend. I need to use it more often. It is a very, very heavy machine. I love going fast. Now to learn how to wind the bobbin.
Good day . thanks for the lesson. Sorry for the mistakes if there are any, I translate by Google translator. please tell me, I cannot create a zigzag stitch on the Zinger 20u33, the loop is made only on the left side, the thread is not captured on the right side, and as a result I get a straight stitch, I have been suffering for a week now, I bought a machine through second hands thanks in advance
please can you help me how to fix my problem the needle doesn'tmove i think because of the bubbin it have a lot of thread ... or may be the bubin get blocked because of Something else can you please give us an idia how to fix this problem thank you in advance
I just bought this machine and I am trying to set it up for free motion embroidery.....the thread keeps breaking ...I cant seem to get the tension correct for free motion... Any advice is appreciated
Lots of things can cause thread to break. Rotten thread, misaligned hook, improper threading, improperly set take up lever, operator error, the list goes on. Get good thread, change your needle and start over. Then if that doesn't work turn machine slowly by hand to find what and where the thread breaks.
I had the needle in backwards..the instruction manual said put the needle in with slot in front....that was the issue...should have had slot in back....duh
It happens, sometimes due to issues with the translation of instructions "slot" can get mixed up with "scarf". Glad you figured it out. Sometimes it feels like magic, right?
These bobbin winders have a rubber tire inside that only lasts a decade or so depending on use. It is very possible yours needs to be serviced. The top cover comes off and then you can see, remove, replace the tire.
