I have my singer quantum 9960 apart and am trying to see why the backside of my feed dogs are not all the way up when the dogs are in the up position. There is a nut/small threaded plastic piece and a pin attached to the plastic piece that I believe the pin came out of it home. How can I fix this?

Could you tell me how to get my needle plate back in? I took out the 2 screws to and removed it to clean out some thread and now I can't get the plate to go back in. It seems like something is in the way underneath preventing it from laying flat so I can put the screws back in. I have been fiddling around with this problem for 2 days and just can't figure it out. Same machine as in your video. Do you know what could be preventing it from going back in? I've tried everything. I have two of these machines and never had this much trouble with something so simple. Thanks!
Feeed dogs on my singer 2277 feel sharp enough, but dont seem to move the fabric very well. I have a brother se600 that has that digital movement, feed dogs are perfect in flowing fabric through. Do you suppose a simple replacement will suffice? I shouldn't have to aid in pulling fabric through, more prevalent an issue during reverse.
H!!! I have a brother sewing machine...my problem is the Pressure foot and the needle do not align at the center of the feed dog...what I mean is how to adjust the pressure foot to move it backwards.
I was hoping you can show me how to fix my feed dogs on a brother xr3240. The problem is they wont reengage after being lowered. I did all the advised steps to no avail. I think there might be a screw or something that came off on the inside that connects the switch to the dogs. I tried looking for a service repair manual but they are hard to find. My machine won't sew button holes. I've set it up as per instructions but all it does is the first bar stitch of the button hole stitch but nothing else. It sews perfectly well while doing other stitches. Can anyone help me. It seen a bit strange because the last time I used the machine I did buttons holes without any problems.
