My machine stopped in the middle of a big project with a tight timeline. Naturally I raced right out and bought a duplicate. Finally found the time and your video. Thank you so much! Saved me a trip across town and a repair fee.
Very nice, thank you for sharing. Some people are cery willing to learn and fix things themselves, for curiosity or for saving money. Sone people will still prefer to take it to a shop instead, and that is good too.
@Cold Blue yes, it was a new machine and after a needle strike the bobbin wouldn't catch, I followed the steps in the video and and it hums perfectly, even sews through 4 layers of suede. Saved me a ton on taking it to get repaired
Thank you so very much..all other videos that i have watched, tells you to undo the hook gear to adjust the timing, and me being a newby, thinking that I had bought a dodgy one, and after readjusting the timing about twenty times for it to quickly go out of time! My problem was the actual shaft was not tight enough..🤷♂️. Your a great tutor and I wish you and your loved ones the happiest of holidays. Much respect..Rob.
I did what you said and it fixed it for about 5 minutes and now it’s off of alignment again. I’m sewing through a single layer of fabric and my needle is hitting that metal spinner again. I’m about to trash a sewing machine that’s new and only been used about 5 times. It’s a singer heavy duty model 4452. I’ve never even sewn anything considered heavy duty with this machine.
hi! I have the same exact model of this sewing machine - and all of a sudden it wouldn't go out of S1 mode! Doesn't matter which type I choose (straight/zigzag), it's constantly in the S1 mode. This just happened suddenly when I was using S1 mode one day and tried to turn out of it but it didn't happen. Just wondering if this is the issue of the needle timing too, or is there other issue? and which video would you direct me to look at to have that fixed? Thank you so much!
4:26 Hi! Thanks for the video. I have a question for clarification: did you replicate the same procedure for the needle in the right position as well for the hood/needle location or did you leave the distance as shown in the video greater than the left side? If not, is there a reason when to check left side timing vs right side timing? I remember seeing another helpful video you did but it was specific to check the needle bar height for only that adjustment (without manually also adjusting the hook) on the right side…? Just making sure I’m not misunderstanding or missing when to do both sides or when only left/only right matters? Thanks so much!!
Help! My entire needle went through all the way down to where the bobbin is. I managed to relief the needle, but the top mechanic part, is stuck in the bottom position. How can I fix it?
how to fix still loose stich at the back even the tension is in maximum tight that I can hardly pull the thread as i set the tension. my machine is singer and also top loading bobbin.
Question. When the timing is off does the machine make a buzzing noise as well? My machine is making a buzzing noise as if I have my foot on the peddle just enough to start it in gear but not moving the needle. But if I push harder on the peddle its starts to sew fine. What could this be???
Hello - I tried to tighten the little screw on the bobbin case to tighten the tension, but unfortunately I went too far. Therefore the little screw fell out causing all the parts to fall out. I tried putting them back together, but somehow I think I lost a piece. I am wondering whether you could do a vid demonstrating how to disassemble a singer Heavy Duty 4411 bobbin case and reassemble it, so I know whether I have all the parts and where each piece goes. Thank you in advance
I have the Singer Heavy Duty 4452, and I have a question regarding the stitches formed with the needle position in the center. When I put the needle in the center position, I end up with loopy threads on the bottom of the fabric. However, If I change to either the right or the left, it sews perfect stitches. I've adjusted the tension, changed the needle, rethreaded, cleaned the lint, etc, but I can't get the machine to sew a nice seam in its center position. Could you please help me with a direction as to where to go with this? I miss sewing, and I so wish I could figure out how to resolve this issue. Thank you kindly for any help you can provide! :)
My wife's machine is the same model as shown in this video, the 4411. After setting the hook timing and needle height as shown, the zig zag will mostly sew a straight line when using a stitch length of 4 (i.e. it skips the right side of the stitch most but not all of the time) but will correctly sew using a length of 1. When I try a straight stitch it will frequently skip stitches regardless of the length. I am baffled by this. I have the Singer manual and have centered the needle as specified therein. I have of course installed a new needle, cleaned the lint, greased and oiled the gears, etc. What am I missing?
There's a small white +- button on right top hand, try adjusting that using a coin or screw driver. It could be that the settings are changed here. This is usually to adjust the stich depending on the material being used. I'm just guessing but there's no harm in trying. You can read more about it on the user manual.
Hi , Recently I bought old singer 5050c and it is having thread hook timing problem. The problem is I can not find the service manual anywhere and also which screws to adjust at the bottom of the sewing machine. Appreciate if anyone can help me with this issue. Thanks.
Anytime I try to move my hook the needle moves with it so it can not line up and it just doesn’t change???!!!! Also I loosened the Alan key screws on the bottom so much to the point one fell out bc I couldn’t get it to work so I figured I should try to loosen them more and after an hour I’ve given up and now idk what to do. Can anyone help??
