May I suggest you go back and listen to the I am Singer version to just see how Dimash adjusted his version of the song while sick and a with a soar throat....it makes you admire that even sick- Dimash gives 110 percent. This is one of my favorites that makes me cry every time (for THREE years! )

His Singer version was very good but because of the circumstances surrounding his performance he wasn't able to give what he knew he was capable of giving. That guy with a braid is Alay, his “music partner” as they are called in this show. Music partners were assigned to every performer, they were with the singers and presented them before the performance. You can see sometimes that they sit behind ‘their’ singers. Alay introduced himself in the first episode as a music producer. He is a Chinese Kasakh, so he speaks both languages fluently. He also translated for Dimash during the show.

I think this is his best performance of any of his songs, the emotion he shows is incredible. He didn’t do all those acrobatics in the Singer version. He hasn’t performed this again, he only did it on these two occasions. I think he did it justice, it was the best it could be. Everybody tries to dissect his technique in the attempt to understand what sets Dimash so apart. They seldom take into account the man behind the voice. If Dimash had anybody else's voice would have still become great because of what he does with it and how he attacks his training and uses his innate musical instincts, passion and drive. But more importantly...his character. Dimash is a pioneer. He's a path maker. He has a calling that comes from a deeper place. And he trusts it. His heart is full of love....not ego. He will be remembered as one of the greats in music of all time.

He has the voice of an angel, no wonder he has the nickname of 'dolphin voice'. He has one of the purest and rarer voices in the world.

When I hear and see this recording, I feel great humility and gratitude - I have goose bumps and tears, and it becomes more and more clear what a gift it is to be allowed to experience this - it is total devotion and a pure heart that makes this possible, this deep touch. I have been a studied singer and singing teacher for many years - but with Dimash I quickly stopped trying to explain it with vocal technique. Loved your thoughts and reaction. I can't imagine doing a song of any kind with the bad throat he had that night. I saw in an interview he said Allah gave him his voice for that one song that day and the voice was gone again when he finished. What a dedicated performer!

This performance gets me every time. I usually end up shading some tears. His takes his mix up to C6, that's the highest I know, at least. His head voice is unreal, his entire voice is unreal. What's more impressive than his range is the way he controls it, those transitions, the different colours, techniques, genres. Then there's his body language, the emotion, and his personality. And he's got the looks too. And you still have new things to hear from him. Also, he's young and he keeps improving. I don't think I'll ever love an artist this much. He raised the bar. Dimash had his first big solo concert called bastau (the beginning) only 2 months later. In September 2017 he sang a song he composed with 17 years. "Unforgettable day" GAKKU version. He hit his most famous note there. Till 2018 he was mostly in China and made amazing stuff. Like "Screaming Idol Hits" with a huge surprise for you. I hope you will not get spoiled. On September 2018 he sang "sinful passion" in sochi. He used a technique no reactor or vocal coach I've seen knew. This song is the second most recommended song for reactions. Shortly after this A famous Russian composer (Igor Krutoy) wrote songs for him no one will be able to sing ever. He loves Dimash like a son and you will see this composer playing the piano, when Dimash sings one of his songs. One of this songs is called "Olimpico" known as ogni pietra as well. In perfect Italian and maybe the most impressive song he ever sung. If you ever react to this song please react to the very best version of it. You can find it only in Igor Krutoys Channel. Wonderful reaction! Thanks for including the backstory. He ended up with 4 or 5 shots in his throat. He was very sick for 3 weeks during that show, but still nailed it. After the performance, he lost his voice again. Dimash could never be singled out into one specific genre. It's neo-classical crossover, and yes, it works so well for his voice. Training in classical and contemporary has given him that ability. Dimash will internalize the words of any song so he can understand them and be able to convey not only the story, but the feeling back to the audience. He does have amazing breath control. His longest note I've seen is 25 seconds in Sinful Passion. Dimash likes to swim and to increase that control, he will swim the length of the pool underwater. I believe people directed you to Gloria Wu's channel for the backstory of the song, not of dimash's medical issue on The Singer. It's based on a true story: This song tells a story of an orphan: A cable car at a scenic spot in Guizhou Province crashed in 1999, at that moment a couple used their hands to hold up their two and a half years old child, so he was saved, but his parents died. Later, Hanhong adopted that child and was also the one who wrote this song. The Gloria Wu's version shows a picture of the older child and HanHong. It's very touching.

I wish you would have continued the video after the explanation you were watching. It shows Dimash's struggles to get through the song while he was having the throat problems. I think you would appreciate him in a whole new perspective.

Thank you for the breakdown on why Dimash is so unique. I have been wanting to comment about this on reaction videos but didn't know how to put it into words. I understood you to say that his singing is like a master painter who uses different colors, textures, shades and brushes to create a masterpiece. I also understood you to say that Dimash is so good in any style that he sounds natural in any of them. When you talked about these things I said to myself, "Yes, that's it!" I haven't heard another vocal coach break it down like this. Great job! I personally compare him to Bruce Lee. What made Bruce Lee so good is that he revolutionized the idea of practicing different styles and techniques to become the best. I feel that this is what Dimash does with singing. There is a vocal coach ( Emre Yucelen from Turkey) who traveled to Kazakhstan and went to the school where Dimash trained. In the video Dimash's main teacher talked about not limiting the students by training them to use and mix all these styles. From what I saw in that video it looked like training for elite super soldiers of singing. (aka Marvel's Winter Soldier) That's what they are doing in Kazakhstan. I'm almost certain that Dimash is introducing a whole new standard for what it means to be the best and I predict that we will see more singers in the future doing what Dimash does in the same way we see UFC fighters incorporating what Bruce Lee did.
