Kousalya started her career as playback singer in the year 1999 with the Telugu movie Nee Kosam, music scored by R.P.Patnaik. She rendered more than 400 songs for Telugu, Tamil & Kannada films. Her notable films are Chitram, Idiot, Itlu Sravani Subramaniam, Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu, Avunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai, Gangotri, Devadasu, Satyam, Desamuduru, Chakram, Nuvve-Nuvve and many more.
She was the Final winner of Padutha Theeyaga hosted by SP Balasubrahmanyam on ETV. She won 3 Nandi Awards, 2 Cine-goer Awards and many more prestigious awards.
