This song is from my childhood, the 1970s. It was written by Simon & Garfunkel. What you say about much of today's music is so true. It's all about appearance and technical devices. Her pure vocals are out of her desire to bring joy to those who listen to her music. If you have not already listened to it, you should really watch the video of her song "Everyone." Well said! I appreciate your comments. So Hyang is amazing in all her songs. Check out Arirang Alone, her version of a well known Korean folk song. She is from S Korea.

So Hyang is quite literally one of the best vocalists of all time. Her upper register and head voice are particularly phenomenal as she can sing up to C#6 in mixed voice with no strain and up to E6 in head voice with no strain. She has countless incredible performances, but I think you should do “Arirang Alone” or “Everyone” next.

@@Emma-qo4no her lows aren’t great, but they’re FINE for a soprano of her tessitura. She’s fairly consistent down to G3/G#3 and has good moments lower. She actually CAN whistle and has done so before. Her whistle register is very thick, weighty, and healthy too, hence why people often mistake it for head voice! But she almost never does it and she likely doesn’t have a ton of control up there. But most singers don’t whistle. All singers have weak parts of their voice though, or at least areas that could use improvement (yes, even Mariah).

I know I'm late but "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is a song written by Paul Simon in early 70s and sang by Garfunkel. The original version is mellow and relaxing. She and her team did a great job of rearranging the song into a powerful ballad. She is a Korean gospel singer, that's why many of songs that she sang has gospel messages in it such as the song you just reacted and, Lean on Me (Michael Bolton), You Raise Me Up(Secret Garden) and Everyone (Yoon Bok Hee). In 1969, Paul Simon wrote "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and Art Garfunkel sang lead vocals. Simon & Garfunkel released the song and the album of the same name in early 1970. 😂6 minutes 10 seconds, cat shove! I enjoyed your "lost" song very much. It showed up in my recommended videos and it is just great. Oh boy,if this is your 1st reaction to So Hyang then you have so many more impressive performances to look forward to. Bridge over troubled was written by Simon & Garfunkel(they had a huge hit with this song). She is South Korean. She was mainly a gospel singer & many people worldwide have tried to sign her but she isn't interested in money/fame, she just wants to use her voice to make people happy. She is 41yrs old & survived Cervical cancer in her early 20's but it left her unable to have any children. She is such a lovely person. Watch as many of her performances as you can, you wont be disappointed

She is 40yo Korean singer with Christian Gospel roots, which means that when you listen to her perform songs that have a spiritual meaning she...really really believes what she is singing about and it shows. You can ignore the dislike. There are a few Sohyang anti-fan out there who stan their own idol, and these are the ones that go to all Sohyang reaction site to click the dislike button. It has nothing to do with your wonderful reaction. Just so you know. PS: Wasn't the last note from the depth of her soul? So so powerfully and the note is pitch perfect.

For a better grasp of SoHyang's singing, you might like to react to a song that you are familiar with. She did quite a few cover English songs like I Have Nothing (Whitney Houston), Lean On Me (Michael Bolton) and You Raise Me Up (Josh Groban) to name a few. For Lean On Me, it sounded that she has a higher key than that of Whitney Houston. For the other two songs, she did an amazing rearranging of the scores. If you prefer to listen to her sing a song from Korea, most people start with Arirang Alone. You will definitely get chills and goosebumps during her performance of this song. The song is by American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. They're 10-time Grammy award winners, and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. BOTW was a single released in 1970. It won the Song of the Year and Album of the year at the Grammy. It's also ranked at number 51 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The original song is pretty mellow folk song. Oh WOW. I looked up bridge over troubled waters, and I found out it was written by Paul Simon, of Simon and Garfunkel fame. I grew up in the 80's, listening to them, and had no idea they penned this classic. I always thought it was a hymn, written in centuries past. I have to hear Simon and Garfunkel perform it now, so thank you for asking who wrote the song. Also Nya, I love how emotional you get in your reactions, with this one being the best reaction I have seen you do, even better than your Dimash reactions. Now that I think about it, wouldn't it be amazing to hear a duet with her and Dimash?

I have been listening to her for several years now, and once you see more of her, you will see what we all know. The top 3 that we have always known, So Hyang is like Whitney, Celine, and Mariah all rolled into one, but... and yes... So Hyang is just a tad better. In my opinion., she is the best female vocalist on the planet. She is 40 years old, and her voice is STILL improving, where everyone else at her age has been getting worse since their mid 20's. She cares for her voice like a proper opera singer.
