Singer's 100th Porsche 911 Restoration - Jay Leno's Garage 

Jay's passion for cars and making this show is just amazing. He could just retire and play golf, and do nothing, but he puts a lot of passion into these shows, and it's just great. You learn so much about cars.

The Singers are just gorgeous, not overdone, pure class and automotive love right there.. And I love how Tim gets all chuffed when certain features come into the conversation, you can tell he`s excited about the car and the job they did, and considering the somewhat inauspicious beginnings they had, all the initial work they did with shaping and the wheels and everything, he and the team absolutely should be proud of what they accomplished, great work!

That is one _beautiful_ Porsche. Singer is one genius company.

Jay it’s hard to explain to people who don’t own or driven extensively a Porsche 911 , the whole Porsche thing, I wasn’t a believer until I bought one and a person kinda gains an appreciation for the man-machine interface and how the 911 reacts on the road, as you know you actually need to drive it, which means thinking and it’s under your total control. For people that maybe want a car to do everything for them, then the 911 may not be what they are looking for.

I love cars. I am obsessed with them. Old and new. I was born in Southern California and, in high school, I loved pulling my Volkswagen Beetle into the driveway to wash it on warm breezy day. Fast forward 15 years. I moved to NYC to be an artist. I am carless and it's killing me. I feel stuck. Trapped on this island with no way out. Rental cars are not the answer. They are lifeless. My only respite is to spend countless hours researching and dreaming about cars through this inflexible glowing screen. From the Toyota Prius to the Rolls Royce Phantom, all cars are noble expressions of human engineering, ingenuity, and creativity. For me, however, there is one car that sits at the apex of all others. If I can own just one automobile in the world it would be a Porsche by Singer. The Singer 911 is a masterpiece. I do not say this flippantly. Yes, the Singer 911 is a masterpiece at the level of Michelangelo's Pieta. It is rolling sculpture. Every curve, every detail is excruciatingly crafted. It's so beautiful that, upon a glance, Medusa herself would turn to stone. My hairs stand up on the back of my neck. My arms and legs go numb. My whole body trembles. I weep. In the end, I don't know how I will ever be able to afford a Porsche by Singer. Now my dream becomes my nightmare...

Can you guys fix the sound issue? it's always sooooooo low

Having been fortunate enough to drive a Singer-restored 911 (the Pfaff commission) for an article I wrote, I can testify to it's goodness. It's rebuilt from the ground up but feels like the best air-cooled 911 you ever drove. Wonderful handling balance and useable power.

This 100 is a special car. Most Singers have some very custom details and colours, but the subtlety of this one, in silver and black with the blackberry interior...magnificent. No showy bling, stock looking gauges and steering wheel. This is going to be a historic car followed for years to come. I hope the eventual owners will honour it and let it be seen and celebrated by the public.

The car is automotive artwork, the dashboard is a masterpiece! Everywhere on this car looks perfect, tasteful and expensive. Everything looks appropriate for an air cooled era car.

Being a big and tall guy, seeing you in this air-cooled 911, reminded me of what I always loved about these vehicles: the roominess. In the 70s I worked for a rental agency that had everything from little Datsun Honey Bees to luxury barges. We aldo rented Triumphs, FIATs, you name it, and Porsches. Being the lot guy, I got to drive everything. Even my boss's Seville wasn't as roomy. Porsches actually had headroom. I laugh thinking about that place, because if I had to come rescue you for any reason, they would send me out in the shop car, a Chevette. People were more than ready to get out of that thing when we got back to the offices.

I CAN HARDLY HEAR YOU!!!!! yet again the audio on this show is low and I have to resort to earphones ...before this I just watched a camera review on a popular channel and could have my audio set around 1/4 up from 0. Surely some one reads these comments and should point this out. I know its a FREE show.... but I am not the first two point out the low (voice )audio....

I bought a 912 in 1967 brand new. Great fun, drove across country. Spoke to Patrick Long in the pits at Sebring in 2014. Told me the 1967 912 Short wheelbase, not smog control.was his favorite.

That is the EXACT Porsche I would have Singer build for me. I love the Paint color and interior colors. I know they wouldn't replicate that car exactly so I would have the trunk and engine compartment done in black instead of raspberry. Exquisite car. I'm not even a Porsche fan but I'm sure I could be talked in to it. If Singer wasn't in CA I would love to work for them. Thanks for the video and take care.

The visionary genius behind these cars is well credited in the automotive world, where they seem to rarely mention that Singer’s Rob Dickinson was also a great singer and cousin to another by the name of Bruce Dickinson! Bruce had Iron Maiden and Rob had Catherine Wheel. His lyrics are full of references that may explain his automotive aesthetic. Properly proportioned volumes wrapped in perfect surfaces.
