I’m with you! I love Avi and was so sad when he left but Matt was the PERFECT replacement! His personality really shines in this video and you can really hear his range. I love the jazzy rendition of this song, I like it better than the original. Congratulations on your 100k ☺️
Matt is perfect. It is as if this song was written especially for him. But I was also amazed by Kirstin and Mitch. What a wonderful background they created. It was a masterpiece.
Great reaction! They recorded this video on tour. The BTS is in the PTXperince vlog. Matt is so so funny saying, “There comes a time in every bassist’s life when they have to memorize lyrics. This is that time & I am not ready!” with his laugh that lights up a room! Kevin was also newly married & you’ll see his wedding ring make more than one appearance!!
As much as I adore Avi I must say they couldn't have done a better job finding someone who's chemistry & personality not to mention talent & artistry match PTX in equality right on par with Avi, just different. Matt NEVER stops smiling!!!! His joy is there in every moment & it always warms me when he can't help but to crack that smile while singing❤
I just love Matt's voice. He just has one of those naturally beautiful voices (in my opinion). Yes, I miss Avi, but Matt is a great addition. I love their cover of Mr. Grinch. And I love Matt's operatic voice--this is the singing I was raised on, the operatic voice. And for me, you can't beat it.
As much as I appreciated Avi's golden deep voice, can we move on to Matt? It's been 4 years. I imagine Matt is tired of still being compared to Avi. Thankfully, Avi isn't dead, and we can appreciate his own artistry on his channel. But Pentatonix is now Matt. I think Matt is fabulous.

Matt killed it in this one! He was definitely a good choice for bass. If you're doing Christmas in July, you should definitely check out God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by PTX. It's one of my favorites of theirs.

I love your reaction and your classical vocal analysis. (And your immediate appreciation for Scott on the bass line.) For another video shot in similar style that features Matt, I would director your attention to "Attention." (See what I did?) Although Matt is doing the bass line in that, he's still featured as a soloist (as are all the others in different ways). I find it one of their most entertaining, and a really imaginative arrangement. Congrats on 100k!

Congrats one 100k! I miss Avi but I've loved Matt from the beginning and I'm so glad he had the lead in this and smashed it. I think it opened a lot of people's eyes on how good he really is. I love this one because it looks like such fun and I really get into it.
