Singers Reaction/Review to "Pentatonix - Evolution of Ariana Grande" 

I love watching Pentatonix perform. Whenever Mitch has a solo, Scott always glances at him and just watches, just enjoying his talent. You can tell Scott really enjoys singing with him.

I do feel like Kevin is often overlooked (by myself included) but if you watch it again focusing ONLY on him the whole time, it’s truly mind-boggling

I guess I'm in the minority, lol. This bass-heavy mix was perfect for me. While I truly enjoy hearing the other three members, Matt and Kevin do some amazing things in these evolutions that deserve a spotlight of their own.

Matt did a great job in this medley. I love his voice very much!

thanks guys. So glad to see you react to this. I love how you break down sections. One thing I really like is when Mitch is hitting those high notes, and the undertone of Matt's bass interact. And the growth of Kirstie really shows in this video. As always Scott slays. And our man Kevin. Many call him a beast, a robot, and even an alien. I just call him the backbone. I really like the format... play the song all the way through with no pauses or analysis, and then play the song again with pauses for a breakdown/critique/analysis of different parts that stuck out. Bravo. It was nice to hear a little more from Ali too.

Loved your reaction. Love their mash-ups! I often think Kevin deserves more recognition that he often gets - without his amazing talent, they would not sound anywhere near as great as they do. His transitions are incredible. Of course, they are such a tight group, that they would not achieve their sound without any one of them. They are amazing!

Great breakdown! I go crazy listening to Kirstie's part in many songs! . I don't know how she remembers it all, because it's all over the place, switching rapidly, and it sounds so random.. but she's where she's supposed to be every time.. and it fits what the rest of the group is doing. And Mitch and Kirstie harmonizing... *sigh* they are singing notes that can be really close to each other, and when they do it blends so well it sounds like one voice! You have to really listen hard to zero in on Mitch's voice. He often harmonizes in the typical tenor range and it can blend so well you don't hear his part.. just Kirstin.. but if Mitch were to stop singing it would sound all wrong and most if us wouldn't know why it did. I used to think Kirstin's harmony was actually Mitch singing.. and we just couldn't hear Kirstin's voice in there. Mitch has said a few times that people often mistake Kirstin's voice for his, but he is singing in his tenor range. That his singing part in the group is Tenor, not soprano. first time I heard him say that I was surprised! 😂 I listened for lower notes after that, and there he was! True to his word,Mitch was indeed not singing the Soprano line. live and learn! They sound and look so good on this tour! It's an amazing stage! just WOW! You guys need to watch a fan-uploaded video of them performing "Come Along" live on their current tour! The staging, choreo and vocals are VERY good! I imagine that it may be what things look like if a person uses an hallucination-inducing drug? I feel like I'm seeing something out of Alice in Wonderland. you'll enjoy it.

They are performing this on tour and it's EXACTLY the same. They are so talented and I love that they sound just as good in the studio version as they do live. Thanks for breaking down each song, the transitions and the things YOU noticed that were difficult but sounded easy.

The jumps you are talking about between lower and higher notes are called intervals in English, I believe. I love how you guys picked apart the details, not many reactors know enough about singing to be able to do that - thank you! I had looked forward to this :-)

I didn't know many of these songs but the thing that is so amazing about this, is the shifts, the harmonies, the transitions. I mean, this is just a serious piece of art, it really showcases how amazingly talented they all are. Missed you guys!! Glad to see you reacting to PTX again. Aaah, yes! You guys never disappoint :). You know what, I want to be a fly on the wall if you get to meet PTX when they're gonna be in Europe, because they'll probably recognize you and I kind of want to see their faces :D. Pentatonic great. Now for my favorite ballad vocalist in the WORLD. He’s from Korea and when you hear this love song by him you will be transported to the celestial realm. It’s a live performance from his Happy Together concert and I’ve listen to it over 10 times and each time I’m moved to my depths and am speechless. If you still have a beating heart and soul you will become ( like millions of others worldwide ) a rabid fan and want to hear more. And there’s plenty more to discover. By the way he is a living legend in Korea and when he announces an upcoming concert, it is SOlD OUT in less than 15 minutes ( 30,000 avid fans) He has the most emotionally impactful purist voice in the world and the song I am going to reveal is a love song from his Happy concert titled “ it’s you” ( sung in Korean with English subtitles so you will be able to follow). He vocal range is celestial. It’s 4 minuets of bliss. Please youtube “Hyo Shin it’s you” ( and be sure to click the second vid -the 4 minute one with [ Eng Sub] and NOT the MV ( Music Video). You will thank me for helping you discover him. ( don’t get me wrong Dimash is my favorite pop-op vocalist but when you hear Park Hyo shin sing you will admit when it comes to heartwarming ballads, Park Hyo Shin is the BOMB!!! i just gotta say scott and kirstie are always on their A game, but for me the stand outs in order are Matt, Kevin, and Mitch. Kevin was sooooo underappreciated in this by some ppl he was doing some crazy things in this arrangement

hey man! I truly recommend a Chinese singer, Huang Qishan, who is considered to be China’s Whitney Houston. Her performance “Beacon” in a Chinese show, The Chart, was super amazing!! Btw, she also competed in Singer season 1, and every performance is fantastic! Especially the “I will always love you” in episode 3 and “Going home” in episode 6!! Please watch it if you guys have time!!

I must admit I'm only familiar with a few Ariana Grande songs. I didn't even know she did a version of My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music. Hearing the PTX harmonies on that part makes me wish that they would do an actual medley of every song from that musical. It would be amazing!

A vocal coach I really like said Mitch has amazing control with his placement as he's moving through his range sung in just a few words. She thinks it's disgusting (because he makes it look so easy). I've heard her and the other vocal coach I respect say that Mitch stays "connected". I don't have a clue what that means, but am sure you two do. And she said that when Mitch goes from chest all the way up to head voice he "zips it up"? She said imagine a zipper from your chest to your head. When you're switching between registers imagine pulling that zipper up. It keeps him from having breaks in his voice when he goes so much higher than the note he was just singing. He smoothly zips it up. I think I know what she means.. I wanna know if Mitch does it organically or learned the technique and is really good at it? 🤷🏼‍♂️ It is funny to watch an elegantly dressed woman pause a Pentatonix song she's reacting to in order to give a lesson on how to learn to do riffs like Scott!
