I saw a competing product that has a Melodyne-like interface where you can adjust pitch and add vibrato, etc. It looks like Audimee doesn't give that level of adjustment?
@@spinlightstudios It sounded reasonable. I think it's called Ace Studio - the video was from Doctor Mix. I just saw Doctor Mix's video and yours today. It looks like Audimee is simpler but you might need a better quality source vocal (like yours). Ace Studio would probably let you turn a bad vocal into a passable one. Maybe you could do a similar thing with Audimee and Melodyne combined.
This is honestly the best video I have seen of audime. Thanks so much for going over how to use it and really giving us a full example of both the AI voices working together 🙌🏿🙌🏿
Whats with everybody? about feeling bad about using Ai voices ? really? its like a guilt trip. Look at all the work he had to do to this just a little part in the song. Yawl need to stop bitching about feeling guilty these are tools fools. Get your creative on and use them especially if you are not a great singer or musician. Ouch. Its like everybody creating this non existent claim that there is something shameful about using artificial singers. Get over it and create music damit.
I think there's a lot of interesting applications one could use here. It's not replacing humans, but maybe giving some cool color here and there. I wouldn't use it for a front-singer sort of application, but totally would see creating a choir with a ton of texture, and as a solo artist, I could see myself recording tons of harmonies and then replicating them with this product, and setting it all together to feel like a choir.
Excellant! Did you say that when converting your voice to a female voice its best for the female to be no more the 8 semi tones higher than the original male voice? Ex: You sing it in A and have her sing it in F? This sounds like a valuable tip (if I got it right). Thank you for this wonderful video. Your song has a great hook. Your chorus kicks in in the way that many of the best hits have through pop history. Nice work. Keep it up.
I think so, that’s what the sites tutorial explained. I think the further you push it up the more artefacts it can introduce. Thanks for the kind words about the song! I still need to finish it 😅
That's awesome but the subscription model for all the features is a deal breaker for me. 🙁 They'll never get my money. I would use Pro-Tools for my DAW if it weren't for their subscription model too. I like "purchasing" a product once and actually owning it. I don't use Adobe software for the same reason, monthly subscription.
I understand, subscriptions are tough. I don’t mind if you can jump in for a month and use something when you need it, but yeah we can’t be signing up to a thousands subscriptions!
Can I ask if you have a prosthetic eye? I do, I've been missing my left eye since I was around 3 years old. Yes, there's a reason Odin is my pfp. If you don't want to answer, I know people who don't grow up with a missing eye like me can be self conscious. I just have to ask because there aren't many people like me out there.
I have a “lazy” eye. One of the muscles doesn’t work properly so it turns out. Been like that since I was born. Definitely makes me a bit self conscious at times - but I just try and move on.
i used audimee ( free version) for the first time last week on some of my backing vocals and was pleasantly surprised, my usual work flow is to use Reaper's play rate feature, so i lower the pitch and speed of the song in order for me to reach those higher notes, plus it gives the vocal a higher formant when you play back at normal rate, which in my situation might help with AI conversion?
I haven’t used free AI vocals before sorry! You can do a trial on Audimee I think, might be worth testing it out and seeing what you think. I thought the Audimee quality was pretty awesome. I’ll have to check out Vocs AI
You can export mono files, you just have to click on/highlight the region you want to export then navigate to file > export > region as audio file. Should export as mono if it’s a mono file audio file!
It's really great, it's like midi and sample libraries for vocals, you get the sound but keep your performances unique. Only thing is that it can become old pretty fast if 8/10 on the Billboard charts are exactly the same vocalist, so some strategies to make the sound unique would be advisable. Listening back, your own vocals sounded more alive and exciting imo, but could probably be remedied with a transient designer and other plugins.
I suppose it depends if you can sign up for a month and then stop? You could use it as you please in that case, totally worth a few bucks to create a choir of voices if needed 😂
check your affiliate link, mate. looks like the part referencing you isn’t a hyperlink. wouldn’t want you to miss out. Chee’s. Sick as. (that’s my attempt at Australian convo. I’m as disappointed as you, I’m sure)
Haha thanks mate! Yeah those affiliate links are never right, seems you always have to add a forward slash that should be there. Thanks for pointing that out!
I had the Waves Harmony Plugin Advertiised to me in this video. AI Singers, AI Ads -- all designed by humans. Those singers in the tutorial sounded much better than plenty of the singers I've seen at open mics over the decades.
That's really spooky 😂 but it's so much fun to watch you have fun with it! I hope I see many more videos from you! 1000 times better than series on Netflix! ☺️🙏🏻
I gigged for years - got tired of band drama and gave it up. I started learning home recording for my creative outlet. I'm guitar player - so I have that part covered. I use Superior Drummer 3, along with various bass and keyboard plugin to fill out the 'band'. I sang a fair bit of harmonies when I was gigging, but I don't really have a great 'lead vocalist voice'. This would be perfect for me as a hobbyist. Wouldn't be cheating at all. If you are a songwriter - and use it to demo your songs for prospective clients - not cheating. I think it's only cheating if you try to pass it off as yourself. Great job, Rhys. This was very cool.
Thanks mate! Great perspective on using it as a songwriter. It won’t be long till an artist will rise to fame sneakily using AI vocals + lip syncing to them live 😂😂
Cool video! I use a similar tool for high octave harmonies in a final chorus and even pitched up +12 by the tooling they sound fine. The quality of the input is super important so comping, tuning, and vocal ability definitely helps. Using different takes also helps like with any doubling. I’ll have to try adding a high pass filter before converting next time.
that was pretty impressive! Also, hearing this song over and over for almost 20 minutes... It really really grew on me... I need to hear the whole thing now!
I usually come for your mixing videos but damn this plugin is seriously impressive! I think this is cool to use on background vocals or even creating some cool coral sounding tracks. At the very least, it is good to audition voices to see like you mentioned, having harmonies when you do not have someone handy and if it would be worth getting a real person on maybe after the fact.
Great job! I wonder if there will eventually be a way to utilize MIDI for improved pitch guidance...instead of us trying to Melodyne the pitch or sing better...etc. Perhaps there could be an option to adjust the balance between the MIDI guide track and the pitch reference from the real vocal. For example, if the human singer's performance is bad, the system could rely more heavily on the MIDI input. From what I understand, the AI output track depends entirely on the reference track for pitch accuracy. Also this service is only available for English and certain languages, right?
@@spinlightstudios So the AI track totally relies on your performance for pitch accuracy then. As for the language, I wasn't sure if the program analyzes the lyrics or it just replicates the sound. It would be really cool if you could throw other languages at it.
@@spinlightstudiosyou know man, I’ve discovered you recently and watched dozens of your videos. I can honestly say, you’re great at what you do. Produce like a Pro is my favorite music channel, but you’re not too far behind.
I like your track I think it sounds nice overall and the tweaked AI Vocal really adds a lot to the feel of the track, maybe just a tad more verb on the female vocal for a better blend. I think this feels like a track that could have been in Dawson's Creak, Great job man, love your channel.
What might be missing is a timing offset so doubled vocals aren't too perfectly aligned. Could also be done by exporting another take for the AI process so there are minute differences. And thanks for this cool video I will be looking to use this for my productions.
Oh absolutely, that’s why I used new takes for all the AI parts, you can’t later the original vocal and the AI, it’s super weird and phasey. I actually had this mentioned in the video but cut it out as I felt it was all getting too long haha
Makes sense ! And great songwriting btw. I like your channel and am interested in songwriting and production techniques more than endless videos about plugins. We're here to make music not geek out over gear. @@spinlightstudios
Really cool video. I’ve not seen anyone else demonstrate AI vocals so well and comprehensively. It’s interesting how we accept drums, bass, keys, orchestration etc being programmed in software & with samples, but an AI voice could seem like it’s “cheating”. Not sure how I feel about it yet! 😅
Thanks man! Yeah that’s my thoughts. How is it any different to using midi or drum samples etc. I think using it for harmonies and vocal layers is the equivalent of using triggers in an acoustic kit, the real vocal is still there but you’re enhancing it.
@@spinlightstudios at one stage I was going to use the EastWest Hollywood backing singers for some soul voices. Although the voices are superb, the inputting of phrases is clunky & haphazard. The end results aren’t great either. Maybe AI can do a lot better! Just need some AI Motown style soul voices.
@@spinlightstudios I was trying to do high pitch vocals the other day, thinking I wish I had a female sing these parts on the chorus… I’ll test it out!
