From what I have read about these lyrics, imagine sitting in prison, sobering up from addiction, looking in the mirror, and writing this song. The original in 2011 is poppy and kind of emo and fun, but with these dark lyrics. The reimagined version is so different the meaning of the whole song seems to change. Great reaction :)

I LOVE how any vocal coach reacts to the unexpected scream to this... People assume just because Rock musicians scream that it takes no talent but my god in heaven it is so difficult to master. God bless Ronnie Radke and Chester Bennington for mastering it when i was getting into rock ❤️❤️❤️

Ronnie Radke is one of my top 3 favorite artists and I love this song. Ronnie is crazy talented. Besides his awesome singing, he is a good rapper, plays piano, guitar and drums, writes all his music, records parts of it, makes all decisions for the band (videos, Outfits, ... you name it), etc. He's constantly working on himself and kind of a perfectionist, I guess. Considering that he grew up without a mother, a drug addicted father, was addicted to hard drugs as well until he went to prison in his early 20s, it's even more amazing how he got to where he is now. The fact that you know the specifics of Post-Hardcore screaming... I'm blown away. I know that might seem dumb, but that is... wow. If I were to play 3 bands from different genres with screaming, pretty much 99% of people I know would say "oh, that's 'screamo." Metalcore vs Post-Hardcore vs say, Deathcore all have very different sounds to their screams. On top of that, No one knows that a lot of bands people label as emo/screamo are actually Post-hardcore... Sorry, I'm just blown away by this.

Yes to the "live" performance, please. I would recommend "Watch The World Burn". He does a lot of rapping in this song, but he's astounding. Plus there is a section you will love (I guarantee it).😊 The thing about their live shows is how they work together flawlessly. It's nice to know that it's real talent, not an edited video. You talk about him having voice or piano lessons. I don't think they offer that in prison. When he was young h e brought brass knuckles to a fight that went wrong. His friend had brought a gun to the fight, as well as their opponent. The opponent died. His friend got off with self defense. Ronnie pled guilty for the brass knuckles, and ended up with 2 1/2 years in prison. Not fair to me, but Ronnie said it's the best thing that could've happened. He gained sobriety and started getting a band together (Falling In Reverse), so he hit the ground running when he got out. He has kept his sobriety through everything. He's is a person like everyone else. He's funny and so smart and insightful. He claims to be an ass...e, and I've seen it, but the other person comes at him first. I've never seen an instance where he was the aggressor but he can take you down with words if provoked. I think you should find out more about this man. I can't type it all here, but it will be eye-opening. I wonder if he is a savant. His dad is a biker and his mother is the epitome of an absent parent. I don't think he had much help with lessons if he had them. However, he's 40ish now, so maybe he has taken lessons himself. Oh, I almost forgot, this song was written in prison. Sorry about writing a book.

One of my favorite singers for the reasons you pointed out. He can do almost anything with his voice... and done well. vibrato, falsetto, growling/screaming, in and out of techniques, range... He even raps better than most. Not only that, but he has a way of bringing out that emotion.

Would love to see you react to the live version of this. Not only are there several decent quality recordings but it’s even a little funny because this was a reimagining of a very old song the band did, and THAT song was more post hardcore / glam rock, so the timing in this version is way different, which often throws the crowd for a loop when they try to sing along lol

Saw them a couple months ago when they were touring with Papa Roach and Hollywood Undead. They were amazing live! As I think others have mentioned, they do not sing the reimagined versions in concert.

The first time I saw this it was difficult to pay attention to the music because the video was so captivating.

You have to go back to watch the original “the drug in me” to really appreciate how much Ronnie has developed and then what “I’m not a Vampire” & “”I’m not a Vampire Revamped” His older music, although different , really shows his music range. His music draws you in because it is mesmerizing. What ever style he chooses to sing comes very natural to him. He is a true artist and doesn’t get the credit that he deserves from the music industry, however, he has a loyal fan base
