I'm a veteran crocheter( self taught since I was 14....about 50 years ago!) I do love finding these stitches that are new to me! I needed a great stitch like this one to quickly whip up some new potholders for my new apartment,since I'm on a baking binge too lately,and have the time at my age to enjoy all my interests! Thank you for the concise and clear instructions! I only had to watch once and now I'm of to raid my stash and see what cotton yarns I have! Subbed and I appreciate you!

I think i finally got it. Tried this again and your method of starting with the row of single crochet is by far easier. I have seen some videos where you start with the foundation chain and jump right into working in the back loops. That can get frustrating fast. Oh and yellow yarn probably not the best color choice to practice a new stitch, but i got it.

I love this stitch, I found it last year and used it with #4 macrame cord. Boy was it thick, I waffeled a little on the edges and forgot to close the end, but I like the overall look and feel of this tight rug, for rug is what thick cording done in this stitch is. I may have had the name of the stitch given to me, but that video was in English. Thank you for refreshing my memory.

Like your way of teaching. Soothing voice. I've been using this stitch for making pot holders and a blanket for a few years now. The only thing that I do different is the last row. Instead of doing a single crochet I slip stitch. To me personally it looks more like the beginning rows. But that is just my personal preference.

@dude988 3 года назад
@@milkmaid4338 I made two headbands now. One in rows back and forth, the others in circles. It works both ways. In circles you have more control whether it gets to big or to small. Even though both got a bit to big because they are stretchy and I had to decrease more than a few stitches. Use a bigger hook, I used a 6.5 (my biggest at the time) and it's still a bit to stiff. But very warm in the rainy autumn right now.
