I just love both these stitches, the single crochet version as well as the double crochet version. But if push comes to shove, then I would have to say that the double crochet version is my favourite. Thank you for putting these video tutorials up on RU-vid. I am a visual learner and have not been doing crochet all that long so this is very helpful for me. Thank you once again for this video in particular.

very nice finish. It is a very precise and clear tutorial, the camera are well set at a very good angle, so your crochet can be seen without any obstacles. That is a very successful skill. Thanks for another great tutorial. I like this pattern in both the SC and the DC but I think the edge of the SC is neater if you don't want to add a border. In case anyone is wondering, even though it creates a dense finished product it is still lightweight enough as a blanket.

Thank you for this! Love it! Do you know how many yards it would take to make an Afghan? Thank you!
@mariakristinahawl1640
@mariakristinahawl1640 4 года назад
Yardage needed depends heavily upon the yarn weight used, the size of the afghan you wish to make, the hook size you'll be using and especially your gauge. Without those inputs, it's not possible to give you an accurate yardage count.
@wandasway6882
@wandasway6882 4 года назад
Do a 4x4 inch sample swatch and see how much yarn it takes then divide by 16 and multiply by the area ( length by width in inches) of the afghan/blanket you want to make. If you want to make it 4 x 5 feet you would multiply 48 x 60 x length of yarn to get the yardage needed.

Thank you so much. I wanted to make something really warm this yr. I do have a question. Is there a way to place stitch markers? It's a long big blanket and I dont do too well with the counting aspect of crocheting so I use two markers to know the start and end of the blanket.
@RichTexturesCrochet
@RichTexturesCrochet 3 года назад
At the start and at the end is a great idea! It will always make sure that you don’t miss that last stitch :) if you find you are counting and often lose track (whether it be because of a long row or interruptions) you can also place stitch markers every 20 stitches which will help to make sure you don’t miss any in the middle :)
@gypsieemerald2658

Are you using 100% cotton? Or are you making items like blankets? I use 100% cotton when I’m making items to be used in the kitchen because wool and acrylic melt if used as pot holders. Also 100% cotton is super absorbent.
