An incredible father

There are 2 types of disabilities, visible and hidden. Someone can be completely coherent and seem intelligent, but have a hidden disability like dyspraxia. You wouldn't notice until you asked him to read or write something. In Asia people are very judgemental about these things, there is stigma. It is the sad reality, but this father is rising above and beyond all that.

Not seeing his disability is a insult. He work so much harder to be at standard but he do better than everyone even if it’s so hard.

He is both, a man with a disability & a good father. Even better father than most because he supports his child & prioritizes her.

My mom used to sing to me and i never thought much of it, after her death my grandma told me how she was terrible at memorizing stuff and the only reason she knew that song so well was because I liked it a lot as a toddler. Your feelings are valid it’s a tough life hope you and your dad get along even better ❤

When my father contracted HIV I was still entering pre-adolescence. I remember feeling very angry with him and afraid to see him die. My father used drugs from age 12 to age 57/58. Died 4 years ago. We survived for over 15 years with HIV, I was lucky to have him for many years, I was lucky to give him granddaughters. I still feel angry that he got HIV and that he didn't get off drugs, but I'm grateful to the universe that I had the opportunity to live with him. My eldest daughter is mildly autistic, a few years ago when we noticed the symptoms I was very afraid of not being able to be the mother she needed to be, but we are living and trying to be happy every day. I can't imagine what you've been through, but I hope you get something good out of it and try to be happy. I want to believe that your father tried to do what was possible for him as my father did for me and as I try to do for my daughters.

I know it's not a competition, but that's a bit under representing dads out there. My dad was our summer camp counselor, rode bikes on the weekend, coached my soccer team, drove me to all my sports stuff, drove me around to deliver Sunday newspapers for nearly 2 years (because the papers were heavy), paid for my college until I got really bad grades. Taught me basic stuff around the house and instilled an education background into all of us.

I'm sure there's no disability in his love for Minzy but I'm also sure he wants to do better for their relationship by becoming someone she can depend on, for homework for example. i know you meant well, but your comment is very ignorant, rude and poorly worded. Mental disabilities and illnesses are real and should be acknowledged so that we can spread awareness about the realities that people with mental disabilities face and reduce stigma. Saying someone has a mental disability is not an insult if they actually have one. Your comment actually just further drives the stigma against mental disability as it's like you're associating mental disability with the incapability of feeling and giving love and kindness. You even said "real human" at the end. People with mental disabilities ARE real humans. Just because they have a disorder that affects their cognitive abilities, behaviors, and/or moods doesn't make them not human. It's definitely not their fault they have it either. Your intention matters, but how you express those intentions matter more.
