Training plan with clubs - Great videos, I love them. Would you have the time to make one where you explain a proper training plan (Mathematic of training is super cool) with clubs as you did with kettlebells? Thanks. Greetings from Italy/Germany

In squash (my preferred game pre COVID), the backhand swing involves quite a lot of rotation. So the inside pendulum looks really useful here, functionally speaking. Thanks for another good video.

These are great! Could you do a breakdown / progression of the mill? Maybe I don't have the necessary grip or arm strength yet, but when I've made a few initial attempts the club tends to hit my back, and I feel uncomfortable with an obvious lack of proper form. I'm working with an 8 kg club, don't have another yet.

I really enjoy your commentary. I am using Pavel's Simple and Sinister Kettlebell routine for the last two months. Your club videos have inspired the thought that clubs could be effectively added as a prefix to the S&S swings, just after the warm up. Adding the transverse mobility before the power moves of the swings looks really attractive. (I'm a 59 y.o. programmer who is swinging a 16 kg bell and TGU-ing a 12 kg bell. I'm about to up both by 4 kg.) What 50 swing per arm club routine would you add? What weight club should I start with? My gym had 5 lb clubs and they seem quite light. Most of your demos seem to start with 15 lb clubs. (I also added, due to your nerd math discussion, 60 two handed swings after both of my 50 single arm swings. I'll up the weight when I get to 100 single arm and 100 two handed swings.) I also end S&S with 3x5 ring push ups. In this time of Corona-tine, I'm able to do this routine 4 times per week and run 400m intervals twice per week. I hope this comment sparks a video of yours.

put clubs and kb's on different days in the beginning so you can cycle the load on your hands
@AndrewDonoho
@AndrewDonoho 4 года назад
@@MarkWildman Sure, I'm willing to swap out two days of kbs for clubs. I'm also happy to buy a program or video series to guide me. I've watched your RU-vid videos. They show technique; very well, I might add. As a beginner, I need both technique and a simple recipe for a workout. For example, with Pavel's S&S, I get a warmup set and two moves, one focussed upon power, 100 swings in 5 minutes, and the second on grinding, 10 TGUs in 10 minutes. Clubs clearly work the power angle for both the shoulders and hips. But what is the warm up set? What is the order of club exercises? What does the progression look like? How do I know when I "own" a certain weight of a club? As you appear to have a thriving training business to the movie industry, I can see why you might not want to create such a program/book/video series. OTOH, who knows how long this Corona-tine will last? You have an excellent screen presence and philosophy. Frankly, you could film the videos in an afternoon for an S&S level club program. If you don't want to do it, which of your peers would you suggest? (As the RU-vid algorithm flagged you for me, I suspect the other club folks are less direct or have complex programs.) BTW, what is nice about S&S is its simplicity. Clubs look like they could easily embody an equally simple program: 4 exercises x 5 sets x 10 swings per side in 20 minutes. Which 4? 15 lb club?

Great tutorial Mark. Can you suggest to me a protocol for mass gain using clubbell exercise?

30 sec on / 30 sec off. record you're reps. track their increase over time. when the increase stops, move up in weight

@@stephenbeeson7622 Yes, he meant 15lb. If you're a beginner to heavy club training you need to work on your technique for quite awhile. 15kg heavy club would be WAY to much to start with for 99% of athletes

exhale at the direction changes to force a core contraction. always breath at the same places so your body always contracts at the same places. its an endurance breathing technique

@@MarkWildman Thank you Mark. By the way i would love to hear back from you on my question about the video you made with the title differences in modern vs historical male structure. Thanks.

Is the exaggerated breathing like that really necessary...? Not meaning to criticize/make fun - sincerely don’t know
@MarkWildman
@MarkWildman 4 года назад
yes... it is in high rep activities. if the breath falls out of line then you run into oxygen deficit which makes you gas out faster
@bongo990
@bongo990 3 года назад
@@MarkWildman this "exaggerated breathing" helps me to keep going past the 2 min mark with my kettlebelling. Like you said so many times, more breathing = more oxygen.
