i said it 12 yrs ago when i was playing Bluegrass in Canada, (mandolin/guitar/banjo/Double Bass), and i can tell ya, these guys are the real McCoy, real pickers and not a joke at all!!... ive been sharing the hell outta this since Beyonce came out with a country album.... the irony!!
I do not like country music at all, but I can't get enough of these guys. They're terrific! If Dr. Demento was still on the radio some of their covers would certainly be on his shows. They're brilliant.
I am 59 and grew up in Australia on Hendrix and Cream and Jeff Beck and Booker T ,, drifted into Buddy Guy, RoRy Galagher, Johnny Winter, then Frank Zappa from 73 till his passing in the 90,s. I allways had atlanta Rhythm section and Amazing rhythm aces albums and earl scruggs an ozark mountain daredevils albums comming out of my ears. I bought guitars over the years took lessons but it faded away but i still got my 1200LP.s My 600 CD,s and DVD,s and guitars and music like this covers everything i mentioned. This kinda dig at country is great and like frank zappa said 30 years ago Humour does belong in music. These guys can play and spent a hell of a lot of time practicing and playing together and it shows. The did at pop music is well recieved by me and well deserved as most of the junk on FM radio is pretty poor. Great stuff Cleverlys and Keep going its fun and very very entertaining.
I've listened to the whole playlist, very entertaining. They are so funny, but at the same time awesome musicians. That fiddle player can sure saw them strangs. ;)
