I'm sure many of you will be asking how to follow more of Olivia's infectious joy and creativity. Stay tuned as I will be sharing details of her new art gallery in Florence in the coming months as soon as she's ready to launch. Thank you for watching. Have a beautiful weekend. Kylie
I am 82 and am not thinking of moving, but this conversation did enlarge my concept of what’s possible. It is something I can still integrate, like the opening of the windows of my mind. It feels like a seed that was sown earlier began to germinate as I watched. I am wondering what it will be because it will be different than the lives I can imagine for young people.
Wow, what a lady Olivia is! She’s the sort of person people write books about and make films about, and RU-vid videos haha. No but really, Olivia you’re so inspiring.Thank you for sharing your way of being in the world. I wish you everything wonderful and thank you Kylie for bringing us Olivia. What a treat! I feel filled up with light and happiness this Friday evening! ❤️
I have never heard a parent focus so much on how they raise their children and think about this in such a deep wise way thank you very much for showing us all this
“The answer is always NO if you don’t ask” WOW So true, I never thought about it that way. Loved this interview. Olivia is a fascinating woman. Kylie, I think you’ve made a great friend.
"Creativity does not have to be taught, it has to be protected." I loved this Olivia! Such an amazing video, thank you Kylie and Olivia for sharing your thoughts. Truly so inspiring and I know this is going to touch so many lives. I moved abroad a year ago after my husbands green card was denied. It was such a blessing in disguise. I’ve lived in France for a year now and I have grown so much and am so grateful to have my eyes opened to this beautiful world. Thank you again Kylie for sharing this beautiful woman!
I’m a single mom of 2 brilliant, beautiful, black boys (4 & 5) and that desire of moving (back) to Italy has been in full force circulating my mind. I feel the same as Olivia- not wanting to raise my children in America, needing affordable organic (and preferably more vegan options, but that’s me), and desiring a better education for them (not only academically but socially and spiritually)- and my heart is so glad that I finally came across this video. Actually, 6 minutes ago I searched “single mom of two moves to Italy” and this is the first option I clicked on. I’m so glad! So much of what Olivia is sharing resonates with me, down to back story and dreams and the choices I make when it comes to raising my children. I’ve never felt so spoken to! Thank you for sharing this! I’m a new subscriber now! To Olivia: I have had a plan, I knew it was possible, I’m ever inspired to just make the move, I’ve experienced it before (moving to Italy on my own) but never with children, however I know the ins and outs, I often have faith in my abilities and the courage to explore, and overall I know I can do it. But now, I believe in myself. I’m going to do it! Thank you Olivia!
I grew up poor in North New Jersey near NYC. City kids (specially boys) can have the wrong kind of friends and end up in the drug scene and gangs (which are the primary sources of gun violence). It helps to live with a father (male figure that you look up to, respect and want to make proud, and who is not afraid to show you some tough love when needed, that you will be thankful for later on in life) so I understand why she as a single mother, would want to move away from that risk.
WOW This was so inspiring ,two beautifully intelligent women engaged in a conversation about so many relatable and inspiring moments in their lives , I loved listening to the parallel moments and made me realize how each of us are so unique and yet so similar when it comes to difficult decisions . Well done thank you for sharing so much of your personal journey in such an inspiring way I feel more connected to the idea that we really can overcome and flourish if we set out minds to whatever our heart desires in life.
Single parent from Georgia. I recently bought a home in Sicily and am working on my visa so will be moving soon. My son is 14 though he has spent so much time there and loves it. Excited to be there. Such an amazing lifestyle
I too am Southern, single parent, living in GA. IMAGINE THAT! I am also called, have been called, since all my life, to live in Italy and it's time. I pray you receive this, respond, and connect. So far... many IMAGINE THAT'S!
I’m just coming across this RU-vid video now and saw your comment ! How was the move? Was the transition well for your son? I live in Nj and I’m thinking of moving to Italian as well and I have a 9 year old son.
Once you’ve found your niche, everything falls into place naturally for you. You don’t need to try as hard because you have a natural affinity to learn. And if you feel complete where you are, then you know this is your home. Also I think it’s a good thing to give your children the opportunity for dual citizenship. Great move Olivia.
Amen to that: "Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly." I think after watching and listening to this awe inspiring chat, how you two beautiful angels have taken flight, many will take courage and start exercising their wings. I work with small children and love to have them observe in the butterfly season how the butterfly comes out of it's cocoon. It's a slow process and I imagine quite a struggle for the butterfly, it's also very vulnerable as it goes through this process. Once it's out, having shed that restricting layer, it then needs to sit for a time exercising and strengthening it's wings for flight. The process can not be rushed, it has to go step by step, but once completed it is now ready with the freedom to fly. As you both shared I felt your lives with the processes and the struggles you have gone through reminded me so much of the butterfly. We will never be totally free of life's struggles but with wings as strong as yours I know you will continue to enjoy the flight of life. P.s you make good flying instructors. Christine Auckland N.Z
Olivia is a delightful person. I identify with her spirit of adventure. In fact I share a lot with her in many ways. I was a single parent to one son. He was a baby when my marriage ended. I lived in New York City but I never remarried. When I was 62 I just decided to move to Italy as I knew I loved all things Italian. My son, then in his 20s, came with me. He loved Florence and other places in Italy but wasn't happy to go back to the US alone. However, that same year he met his now wife, a lovely young woman. I have 3 grandchildren now and although going to the US gets harder every year, I am still doing that. I totally relate to what you said Kylie about the freedom of the wee hours of night and the ease of being there. I often stay up until 3am or even until dawn. I always say that when everyone is asleep and I can think haha. One of the blessings of living alone. I am however 73 now. In my opinion, having an adventurous spirit and a love of Italy is an ageless thing. Thank you Kylie for this encouraging video.
An incredible conversation! Olivia is a dear friend of mine and Kylie truly captured her essence in these 50 minutes. Like Kylie, O is an inspiration for many! ❤️
Inspiring, I watched this as a single mother of one who wants to move to Italy, it has given me courage. A pleasure to listen to two beautiful & articulate women, thank you.
Kylie, you are a fantastic interviewer. Thank you for not interrupting and letting her tell her story. Both of you are amazing women! I love every video of yours that I've seen. Thank you ~
It is so refreshing to see a mom in today's day raising her children like we raised our 27 year old son. Keep going strong and do want you feel is the correct path for you and your children and you will see amazing children grow into amazing adults. It is the best satisfaction a mom can feel. God bless you all!!!!
I love, love, love this video. A beautiful, loving, intelligent and fun conversation between two brave, amazing, inspiring women. Kylie, thank you so much for sharing your new friend Olivia with us.
What a beautiful soul, this is so inspiring. I totally feel her about NL, I am born and raised there and felt the same way, so I decided to move to Spain and I felt immediatly at home, exactly what my soul needs at the moment. Thanks for sharing ❤
I really resonate with your words. I am also born and raised in the Netherlands and thinkings about moving, because I have winter depression every year. What was it that made you feel so at home in Spain? I'm still finding out which country in Europe I will feel most at home at.
"Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly." - Olivia. I LOOOOOVE this, I think I am going to write down this quote, make a picture of it and frame it!
I know this video is inspirational and to follow your heart, but I just can't get past...how is she affording all this?! When I got divorced with two children, I wanted so bad to move away, to start a new life, but I had no money, so I had to stay.
One more comment...I wish I could talk to Olivia. I bet we could chat for days. What a beautiful soul. When I clicked on this video, I never imagined it would leave such an impression on me. Yippy!
@@KylieFlavell Yes she is, I can't wait to learn more about her. You are both extremely inspirational, I don't have the words to explain it more than to say I wish you all much more love, health, happiness and success. Cin cin🍾🥂
Olvia is showing me that i can do it too.. Amazing conversation Kylie.. listeing to the her story, it's like the law of atraction.. she started watching your videos and now you guys met.. it's beautiful.. much respect for Olivia.. moving with two kids...
The insinuation that having twins teaches you that you don’t know everything is false. One child does an excellent job of teaching every parent this life lesson.
So interesting to meet Olivia! I lived in Florence and Scandinavia in my younger years as a single ( working) woman. How lucky Olivia’s children are to experience different cultures. But, most importantly Olivia went where she feels happy and can live her dreams. And that is the greatest gift to give your kids, a happy Mom. Life is short and there is beauty to be found in all countries. Wherever that is for you- go there.
What wise words from Olivia, her perspective on not taking things personally and the lens that she sees life through is so refreshing. Lovely interview.
I enjoyed this so much, I can't even express how much this moved me on a multitude of topics! Such a smart conversation about the experience of life and living it. Thank you!
what a lovely video Kylie and Olivia! I resonate with so many of these comments. I left the UK in 2005 and have been solo traveling non stop 16 years, just me and my suitcase. I believe many many people will start living this kind of life now. THANK YOU for such incredible videos Kylie. Highlight of my day.
Kylie, you’ve done such a beautiful job to bring the essence of Olivia’s present experience to share. The visual touches and the texture of her voice, the authenticity of your conversation has left me inspired. It reminded me how I felt being in Florence. I am looking forward to also following her content.
I think Olivia is so down to Earth and such integrity just like Kylie! I agreed with everything that she said and she is very open minded! I think she is brave and strong and she will succeed for sure in giving her boys a full and exciting life! I moved as a single mum to a small mediterranean Island when my son was 6 and I managed to establish myself and give my son a safer environment to grow up in! It is daunting at first but Olivia was spot on, you keep in mind why you are making the move and what your goals are and you literally create your reality like that! Now my son is expecting his first baby! Wishing you a wonderful life Olivia and the fact that you have met Kylie after watching all her videos is perfect!
Ok, if you don't have coffee every week with Olivia and capture it, I will be disappointed! Oh my goodness, she is lovely and open! Olivia, I'm coming to Italy to have a cup of coffee with you someday!
This interview has made me feel decades younger, for I want to fly like an angel! Nothing is worth weighing me down if I truly want to live! Thank you Olivia and Kylie.
I had a frightfully, bad day today and after watching these two lovely ladies, expressing themselves as real human beings should be, I feel so much better. Thank you for sharing this video. It really lifted my spirits.
As a mother of 2 small kids, transferring from LA to Padova during the pandemic, I can relate to this on so many levels! Thank you for sharing your experience ♥️
Jeez, this keeps me going❣️ I’m struggling a bit with the whole transformative process at the moment, having moved to Rome about a year ago, following my own dream, my hearts calling, after given up a foreseeable future. No one said it’ll be easy, but I’ll be worth it in the end💗. You gotta be ok with being uncomfortable for some time. Very inspiring talk by fellow dreamers/achievers. Much love from Rome✨
Olivia is truly a citizen of the world who has become quite experienced in seeing the good and the beauty in people by being brave enough to reach out and to interact. Taking her twins on a Grand Tour of Italy is inspiring and courageous for they will be exposed to new challenges helping them to evolve into more inclusive men who one day might help to protect creativity in others like their mother has done. 👏🏻🥇
Kylie and Olivia, this was absolutely fantastic to watch! I am also a mom of twins and we’ve been toying with the idea of moving to Italy for a while now. It was wonderful to hear a parent’s perspective. Olivia, you are an incredible Mama! Your boys are very lucky. Hello from Vermont ❤️
I love how slow and thoughtful your content is. I think creators are often pressured to churn out a high concentration videos, on a timeline, leaving no room for nuanced conversations such as this.
This was such an incredible and encouraging interview! Thank you Olivia for sharing your story, and thank you Kylie for putting this together so beautifully! ❤️I always love and appreciate your content, Kylie! 💕
I loved this so much, I have happy tears. I enjoyed hearing about Olivia's experience of travel, moving a lot, life' ups and downs and looking at events through different lenses as it resonated with me as a single mum who has had to move a lot with work. I have had similar mental health issues from harassment and bullying as a teacher of children with disabilities. She is right, life's unpredictable, do what you want or take small steps to get there. This has inspired me to travel and get back into photography.
Kylie thank you so much for this beautiful vlog and Olivia is so inspiring. What courageous women you both are to women around the world. Have a lovely weekend. ❤️❤️🙏🥰💐⭐️
Olivia is true women goals. To be able to have the experience of travel and to show your children the world is just incredible and amazing as it is, but as a single mom, that’s on a whole different level! She is such a lady of GRACE and wanted more for her children. Kylie, you’re a woman of grace as well! Im a super fan.
Kylie, this was a good interview, and I am sure that everyone knows that Texas is much more than guns, there are many of us who are all about freedom and family, and to put Texas in that light is very unfair. My family and I also love the sweetness of Kylie and Guido and have watched nearly every episode over the last few years. Much love from Texas USA 🇺🇸
I'm in Indiana now and I prickled a little at the gun reference but I know most average people don't know how important our gun rights are here specifically right now. It's just a matter of where we get our information. I do feel these women are beautiful people so I let it go. I especially related to their discussion of SAD. I think if I moved to Italy or Spain or southern Texas I would be able to create year round and grow artistically so much. The fall winter spring here is so grey !☺️💗
I have lived in Texas since 1996 and I have never seen a gun in public. A lot of people I know have a gun license and like to hunt but I have never seen a gun up close and personal. So that stereotype isn’t really accurate. The town I live in is very civil and law abiding and peaceful for the most part. People of all stripes live and work next to each other without violence and mayhem. We value our freedom. It’s a great state to live in for the freedom aspect.
I don't want to take away from the video, but I yeah I felt this. I lived in Texas for 17 years before moving away. I wasn't simpatico with Texas due to climate and scenery, and an over-the-top, positive-at-all-costs, "Can Do" vibe that didn't fit me. Guns? Guns were never an issue in day-to-day life.
@@ce1581 i prickled also at the mention of guns and was glad to hear that was one of the reasons she left the USA. There are 39 million people in the US and 39 million guns in the US. For black people, it’s not a matter of if my son will be shot, it’s a matter of when. The founding fathers did not intend to have every person have an automatic weapon with the second amendment. No one could foresee the development of Arsenal weaponry. It’s dangerous for all Americans and getting rid of it doesn’t mean losing our freedoms. Norway police don’t even carry guns. It can be done! And before you reply back to me please do your research and as you very smartly said, it’s where you get your information.
@@ilenet9911 Criminals with guns are bad . People protecting their families and homes is the category I fall under. I worried as much about my children being hurt by a gang member as any other mother Latino, black, Asian. It's all of us decent people who fear for our families. Divided we fall united we stand.
Love this video! Inspiration and testimony that of our Lord who is with us in every step of our lives. Thank you Kylie for every inspiring videos, which are all of them💕 ! Beautiful inside and out💗 Thank you for sharing Italy 🇮🇹 Sending Love from Texas💕
Thank you for sharing. I love Olivia's spirit of adventure. We must always challenge ourselves to live our best life! Kylie you inspire me to do so everyday!
I was glued to my screen and hanging off every word. I even rewound the interview to make sure I caught what you both were saying! Love you both and so happy to see such a beautiful friendship 💞
TRULY ENJOYED this video. Can wait to watch more. Love her lamp,is it Merino Glass. I am so happy for her and her sons. I see a great friendship with these two ladies. How did they meet? This was a tremedous inspirational, video. It is also the natural culture of the country. Olivia is blessed, because everyone may not have such a beautiful story.
Thank you Olivia and Kylie for this wonderful dialogue! ❤️! I read down through many comments. I was stunned to see a couple of negative comments to such an enriching , courageous journey that you both have had! I was saying to myself what?! Beautiful you both spoke to periods of darkness hardship that you pushed through. You didn’t give up ! I loved what Olivia expressed that the darkness she lived through prior to finding this light defined this light. I say Bravo Bravo so inspiring! THANK YOU!
“Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly” I think that is one of the best things I have ever heard! Life was so crazy these last two months I’m just catching up on all your videos, and this was so fun and inspiring, you are both amazing people! Olivia, she is incredible for sure!
I’m an expat in Canada and resonated with almost everything spoken about in this video. This woman is brilliant. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I want to cry because I’m feeling stuck in my life right now and listening to her words grounded me soooo much and gave me a boost of inspiration. Want to thank both of you for this dialogue, thank you!
Love the series when you interview exiting women. I also love to see their love of esthetics, surroundinga, flowers, shoes dresses..just like you. Reeeally hoping for more of these.❤💛
Such great content overall Kylie! This one was really special for me. I am also a African American woman living abroad. Sometimes it’s nice to get the perspective of someone, of similar background, who has also made that choice. More than that though - it’s the illumination of a unique, brave and beautiful being. It inspires me to keep living as fully as possible. Thank you so much for this wonderful interview.
Thank you for this wonderful interview, just fascinating! I really resonate with the perspectives & thoughts in this interview (it occurred to me that you hardly ever hear these kind of thoughts being discussed in programmes/documentaries on mainstream TV and so on) Thank goodness for your channel. I also just watched your video on introverts - all of it SO TRUE!! it’s amazing to hear someone expressing the same things as how I’ve always experienced the world, especially the aversion to ‘small talk’ & being drained if we have to spend too much time in company and can’t get time to be alone and re-set. People in general really do underestimate the quiet ones (and worse than that can often mock them or look down on them)they have no idea how powerful the quiet ones are. Our connection to nature and our spiritual side is very deep and gives a whole other layer of meaning to life and the way we ‘feel’ the beauty of everything in the universe.
This was such an inspirational story. I am a single Mother of 4 and have Twin Boy's moving across the USA I know exactly how Beautiful Olivia feels in that moment of stressfullnes that at times seems it will not allow Us as Mother's move forward to a Higher and stronger future for Our Children. As I experience those deep feelings I had to completley focus on the Strongest power that dwells deeply with in Me to move straight stronger Loving Together with My Children in this changing World. Stay safe strong and know that there is another single Mother that knows exactly what You are going through Olivia Lots of Love Peace and Kylie I am so Grateful that God placed You in Our lives at the perfect time and in this technology that We are so grateful to have so that We can experience and share Our experiences together. Continues Rich Blessings always to You and Your Gorgeous Family. ❤❤❤🙏🏻💐
This conversation has moved me and motivated me on so many levels.. I greatly appreciate the both of you and I would love to follow along Olivias journey! Thank you Kylie
SUBBED. LOVED THIS. My Husband and I moved our family with two children to Egypt, then Spain and lastly, three years in France. The best most amazingly, FANTASTICAL decision that we have ever made. We are back in Hamptons New York now. Our children speak French and they are years above their peers in taking chances and seizing the day. Thank you for this. You both are lovely.
What a beautiful interview. I was so emotional. I lived in Ireland for 4 years I had the best time of my life. Travelling experiencing culture is so insightful to our souls.
To touch on your point at 33min in.... I was once in Tokyo, heading somewhere, left my phone in my apartment, got off at the wrong station, then proceeded to have the best day ever just wondering about with no mobile phone to rely on Great episode, what an inspiring woman 🙌🏽
I love watching your story, so relatable and watching as a mother of two boys and in the search of moving from the states to Italy, I’m immensely inspired! Thank you so very much for sharing ❤
Loved this!! As far as racism, I do not like to think a whole city, state, country, province, is racists. Everyone is an individual and you can have individuals in those places that are racists, however, that does not mean the entire place is. Such a great interview!
Thank you Kylie for showcasing this strong single Mom and woman. Life is tougher as a single Mom, but this conversation has opened up my traveling juices again and missing my days of travel but also giving me confidence to embrace my strength to do the impossible, of course with God’s guidance and fear not to make big decisions with kids. I home school as well and the benefits are endless. With God anything is possible! God bless you both and your new life adventures. Love Italy! Women supporting women, love ❤️ it!!!
This is so wonderful Kylie, please interview more wonderful inspiring people, awesome to see we are free to be us no matter what is going on in some realities, there is a reality that people are enjoying their 'freedom of being'!
Thank you for this conversation, I've really enjoyed the breadth of lightness, realness and depth. I love meeting authentic people and having conversations that go beyond the superficial. You two are inspiring and genuine, your lived experience and capacity for self reflection shows through in your interaction. A breath of fresh air.
Kylie thank you for sharing this conversation with Olivia. This is the most delightful conversation that I heard in some time - inspiring, real and inclusive. You spoke to so many without the use of labels or limiting participation in the game of life. Be well!
