First off thanks for doing these videos. I a question I hope you can answer. I currently have a JL Audio 12w6v2. Sounds great, but no where near enough output for me. I was recommended to get a sundown U12 which is $400. I really don’t want to spend that much on a Sub that I’ve never heard. Do you think the American Bass will be a better choice? I don’t mind spending the extra money on the sundown if it’s that much better. I have already ordered a Wolfram 2400.1 which does 2400 @ 1ohm or 1600@2ohm. Just trying to figure out which way to go on the sub. My enclosure is 2 cubic feet tuned at 32hz. Thanks again
@@catch22frubert they have a sub called the xmaxxx but it's actual xmax is in the 20mms It's laughable cause Resilient sounds gold series has 30 mm of xmax each way for a third the price or less I think the xmaxxx was alike 699 or 799 and the gold 12 is 269 I think and just cause it's rated at 1k rms don't let that fool you in description it says conservatively rated and it's a very conservative s rating they tested it on over 3krms with zero issues no smoke no noise not even a glue smell I mean it does have a 42lb triple stacked motor structure with a 8 layer vC and multiple spiders so that alone should tell you that 1 k is just a snack for that sub and that's basically they're entry level although they do have a model below gold's called budget game changer and it's like 149 per 12 but still a great sub for that money a kicker comp cost that n more and handles half the power and only has 13 mm xof xmax and the RS sub has 22.5 amm of xmax each way that's what skars ddx and zvx series has and Sundowns sa series as well
Purchased XFL 12’s around the holiday season this past year, don’t regret it one bit! Those subs blow my mind and I can’t even turn them up all the way because I don’t got an aftermarket alternator. One day... one day...
U don't play when it comes to testing product man. The makings of a million sub count someday? Keep movin watts and evolving and one day u never know. Sky's the limit when you come tried and true while doing something a 💯 every time. That's a dope azz subwoofer no doubt, Parker!! 🔊✌👀
So stoked that you finally have a review! I am currently running two of the HD 12s and I love them they can take soooo much power! The HDs I have has a very stiff dust cap so idk why yours is so soft.
Bruh I love your videos and your trueness to the equipment you test thanks it was you who convince me get the american bass xfl (2)12s after my Kickers CVRs blew keep making awesome videos please
Dang bro you are a certified bass head!! The smile on your face says it all. I just like handling subs as well. But doing what you do I can tell is like a kid in a candy store with his allowance in his pockets. So you gonna fix the sub with glue or go all out recone. Always a good show Maing 😎
Digging the AB really wish they up the game with this sub I was expecting a 4" coil with a motor that size and a massive high roll. Like always banging video Parker. 👍
Godfather, Signature, and VFL drivers all have the 4" coil. However some people prefer the 3" coils because of limits a lot of 4" drivers have compared to the 3" drivers
Been pushing 4800 RMS (one 2400 rms amp to each) to a pair of HD-10'S for the past 6 months with zero issues and plenty full tilt abuse!!! Gonna upgrade to two CT sounds AT3000.1 amps and I think they'll take the extra 1200 watts or so each like nothing.
Love American Bass! The two XR 12's in my truck now have been performing perfectly for 3 years on 3500 watts RMS daily. Great Video Parker! Looking forward to the VXF video. I think it's a better sub than the ZVX.
Very impressive for sure!! My VFL 3K would work that sub for sure. What's your opinion between the HD and XFL?? I'm running the XFL 1222 @ 1ohm. Was thinking about getting another and run it at .5ohm.
Two XFL's @ half ohm on your VFL 3k would be awesome. Just make sure you have the electrical to keep the amplifier up above 12 volts when going full tilt
I'm running four Sundown Audio SA12D2s in a custom box that I built that's fitted to my trunk on an Orion HCCA 3K amp. I would LOVE to get a DB meter and see what my car is putting out. That Orion HCCA amp has three 0 gauge power inputs and three 0 gauge ground inputs and I'm only using one of each with 0 gauge OFC wire and with my 320A alternator it still dims my lights.
Yea, I've been l about all about SoundQubed for over 2 years now but Parkers videos are swaying me towards American bass for my next build which I'm starting very soon. Just trying to figure out all the details. The box will be either a 4th or a 6th walled for sure but I'm still designing and slowly getting everything I need to get it done. I'm not tearing my current build apart until I have everything I need for the new one.
I got three XFL 1544 running inverted and parallel to my Taramps Bass8k and it sounds amazing. No coil smell even if I run it to clipping point of 20 minutes straight. Love American Bass . Great job 👍
I was thinking the same thing. I use loctite 5 min epoxy with the long self mixing nozzles on all of my recones. I'd flip that woofer over and have it better than the CA glue joint in no time. Good woofer. I'm thinking of going with 3 on a full bridge 12K
I must say I like your style, I enjoy watching you test these different subwooders, and the setup in the suv is way cool, its nice to see real #'s ROCK ON or should I say BASS on!!!
Hey Parker I hope someone on here can help me. So I just got a 10 inch XFL. With the direct leads how do you wire it up? It just doesn't sound right. Its a 2 ohm dvc by the way. And my ohm meter says 1.5 when I check it, it starts at 2.0 then goes very very slowly down to 1.5, but i can't get it to read 1 ohm? I dont know what i am doing wrong. Any feedback would be great..
Sacrifice? What sacrifice are you talking about? He isnt jesus or died in Afganistan!... he is just passionate enough to try different subs and make videos....
Great vid Parker, which would you say the the better overall system? : The 1 - 12" HD or The 2 - 12" elites subs. Can decide if to go with 1 heavy 12" sub or 2 12".
@@ddtstrc9678 not sure about the 12" but I got the 18 hdx3 and one I put over 3000 rms watts on it and it had Huge xmax. I'm changing my you tube emblem to the picture I took playing lean on me slowed bass boosted it moved then I got a second one and now I need more watts.
I used to judge DB drag racing events and obviously we had strict rules on mic placement. Just wondering why you have yours against a rubber mat that is on carpet.. is that where you're getting the highest reading?
The 2000watt rms rating is at 1ohm. The 4000watt max rms is the rating at .50ohms. that's why they put max! It can be wired down to .25 but not intended to see more then 4000 watts at anything below .50ohms
He sticks with 12's for lots of reasons. #1- It makes all his tests comparable with each other if they are all 12's. #2- He doesn't want to have 10 different boxes for each sub size laying around #3- 12 inch subs are the most common size used. Tons of people have one or two twelves. I'm sure there are even more reasons, but those are 3 good ones. Believe me, I would like to see him test 15 inch subs. I think it makes a lot more sense to run a single 15 for more output with a single subwoofer. It just makes more sense for him to continue with 12's at this point until he runs out of content and switches to bigger or smaller subs to test
The reason your score went up when you turned it down a click is because you were clipping at higher volume. After testing countless burps it was interesting to learn how clipping affected my score. Nice review Parker
But I have no doubt I could get 147 out of one. His box is in essence a prefab because the box should be made for the sub and each sub line is different
It looked like the glue failed and not the spider. Or did the spider actually rip? Not something I'd expect from American Bass. Might want to save some extra money and go with their next tier instead. Not saying it's a major concern. Since it was 10,000 watts. But hopefully they will look into improvements for that sub in the future. Definitely looks like you get great value for around $300.
DC and PSI subs are expensive. You definitely don't get the same performance per dollar as you do with American Bass or Soundqubed. Don't get me wrong, they make quality subs, but you definitely pay a premium for that quality
First of all Parker that look like five boxes to me, and I'm curious what is your break-in procedure why did you go from the 2 12 to the single 12 and I would like to see 15th and 18th being tested I did a little research and determined they are far more efficient than smaller subs at a lower price the downside is you need a much greater box
@@ParkerTheBasshead I should have guessed it it's always something bigger and better with you man I can't wait to see what you do next to keep up the good work oh and what do you think about 15s
I really think that American Bass is top notch. Another sub around that price range is savard hi q 12. New brand, and a few people have been hyped about them.
Funny you called Savard subs new brand? My best friend Danny K. had a new bronco ll in the early 90’s with (6) 15” Savard RAPs on (2) Orion Red 225 HCCA with Alpine deck, hi end tweeters & mids and used to slay ALL competition local or otherwise!#orion red 225 hcca 👑 of 🔊!
I will like to ask you a question about NVX XAD17 13500W RMS X-Series Class D Monoblock Car Subwoofer Amplifier. Have you ever got your hands on that amp and have any reviews on that amp since you have had some videos on that project. I was thinking about getting one. Can you help a bass head brother out. Thanks...
I got a 10' American Bass1044 xlf and on the magnet it says 1500 rms 3000 max but the spec sheet that came with it says something different. It says 1000 rms and 2000 max . Also I noticed that on spec sheet it says the 10 xlf is 38.59Hz but on companies selling it says its 32.4Hz It's really confusing?
Yeah my spec sheet came and had typo after typo and was extremely lacking info. It’s pretty unprofessional if you ask me, you’d think spell checking would be important considering this company is based out of Ohio. Oh and when I say the grammar and spelling is rough, it’s bad!!
I have a question. Got a little worried today after I smelt something funny after playing some dj russticals songs for the first time. I saw he has the frequencies listed for each song. I'm running 2 evl-12's in a skar box tuned to 32 and my subsonic is set to 31 with a cc1. Any frequencies I shouldn't drop below? I have the Taramps smart 3 amp and it shuts down above volume 25 usually due to low voltage even with my new Northstar agm. Clipping shouldn't occur until volume 35 or higher according to the dd-1 but I was using a different phone. And have Bluetooth offset to +6 with no clipping on my other phone. I'll check it with the dd-1 tomorrow but really wondering if I am limited to frequencies over a certain range. Thanks
You should be able to play down to 26 hz with the subsonic turned off. Try it with it turned down. If you want the subsonic I would put it around 24 hz.
I think the subs would love it a lot more if u inverted them when put in that box better cooling and a lil more airspace specifically those big ads subs you have
(Big Old Beefy Banger)! I Wish that bottom spider had held up. I guess we can call that the (Soft Old Slappy Spider)! LOL! Seriously I was wondering if you could get the specs for the audiopipe txx bdc4 18 subwoofer and post them on one of your RU-vid videos. That way we could pause the video and read the specs. I've been looking for the ts parameters for the audiopipe txx bdc4 18 subwoofers and can't find the full specs anywhere they are always partial. They don't have the Fs, Xmax, Mms, etc. If you could do that I will really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
Can you test the American bass vfl spl 12 next to the dd9912 I would like to know which one hits tighter and harder and pushes more air and holds up which one can actually put out what is says and if you can get ahold of an earthquake holees12 I'd like to which of the three ate the best
definitely a good sub, it can take some power, I'm pretty sure it will do just fine at rated power, great video. it did sound great before the spider came detached.
Hi Parker i lke your videos and i think you are honest about your testings and i can respect that . With that being said i recently bought 2 american bass HD 2200 watts rms 15 inch subs , i have searched but cannot find the specs on building a speaker box for these 2 subs .. can you or anyone else please help out by giving me the specs. thx you keep up the good work
