Hello everyone thank you for joining me for another episode of Antonios Movie Reviews. Today I have Single White Female, a 1992 psychological thriller starring Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Directed by Barbet Schroeder.
Having recently split from fiancé Sam Rawson (Steven Weber), Allison Jones (Bridget Fonda) welcomes new roommate Hedra Carlson (Jennifer Jason Leigh). The young women quickly form a bond, but as Allison starts to rethink her engagement, Hedra grows jealous and hostile. As Allison learns new details about her roommate's life, Hedra gets violent in her efforts to get Sam out of the picture. With Hedra turning more menacing by the minute, Allison finally understands what she's up against.

Allie didn’t lead on her boss, he sexually harassed her. But even if you disagree with Allie taking Sam back, that’s the point. It’s Allie’s life and it’s her mistake to make.

The part that gets me is when she was at BDSM club pretending to be Alison and Alison seeing her that was creepy it was almost like Alison was looking at herself. This movie was made back in 1992 and it was good. She kills the boyfriend with high Heels.

my fav part is when the boss comes in to see allie tied up "what the fuck is going on" very realistic reaction...i'd say the same thing lol

So yeah it's pretty crazy me being a fan of this genre of movies this was not a movie I watched until recently! I definitely heard of the movie throughout the years and even vaguely recall when it came out on Pay Per View. A lot going on with this movie. I agree with what you said in the review the Allie character is kinda naive. The boyfriend that cheated on her. I dont think she led her boss on but maybe someone more savvy would have picked up on him being slimy? That and yeah it I thought it was obvious even before Hedy started dressing like her she kinda had some screws loose. But it's a good suspenseful thriller. Both female leads were good but especially Jennifer Jason Leigh. Wow that girl was fierce!

Dan, I'm surprised you hadn't seen this movie before! Definitely a classic; have you seen The Roommate? Somewhat of a knock-off to this in my opinion. I definitely enjoyed Jennifer Jason Leigh, I miss her in movies! Thanks so much as always for your continued support! I'll be back soon (I know I keep saying that), but seriously! Oh, the 90’s! As you mentioned, there are various famous movies from that decade in that weird atmospheric vein. Really enjoy the walkthrough type of reviews you do man, and specially that they are about less mainstream movies 👍

@@Antonio_ Agree 100% It’s scary to think that there are almost no new movies, but it has forced us movie lovers to go back to those gems we only watched once long ago or haven’t seen.

Right! even when most of the newer movies are almost indirect remakes, I mean take The Roommate for example in reference to this movie. Half the kids who saw that probably never even know about SWF, it didn't really pay much hommage, just wanted to take credit for the story I felt. Although, I did like The Roommate
