Our first home (1978) was a 10x60 holly park mobile home. We paid $6,000 for it and it was about 7 years old. It had a built in china cabinet with hardwood floor in the dining room. We thought we had arrived. 😅That was fancy stuff back in the day.
Love it ! Reminds me of my hubby and me 52 years ago in Memphis Tennessee my hubby was in the Navy! Great memories! He has passed 5 years ago ! Wish I had one more day 😢 cherish every day that you have 🙏🏻🥲
We also lived in mobile homes during our first years of marriage. The first one was actually a travel trailer that we modified so we could move it to college. The bathroom was so small that we had to take the door off the one-foot vanity so that when we sat on the toilet we’d have a place for our legs! 🤣 I actually loved living in mobile homes. They are designed to take advantage of all the nooks and crannies for storage. We purchased our first home after 7 years of marriage when I was expecting our 3rd baby.
Thanks for sharing! I loved hearing the memories It made me think back on my first place with my love 47 years ago. We moved out of state. He went to college and I worked to pay the bills. It was hard but the Lord used it to teach us how to communicate and love each other. It was a great foundation for our marriage.❤😊😮
Hi Im.Mary Mahaffey from hot springs Arkansas.... and I've lived in several trailer homes in a trailer park here in Arkansas..im living in a trailer house in a trailer park now....its in the county og hot springs Arkansas....lirs of deers and birds and night creatures anf owls around in October... hooting away... heard them around 2 to 4 am ...i kinda love it here ❤😊...
How fun looking back! We just celebrated our 32 wedding anniversary and I sure wish we had documented our first little house better than what we did. It just wasn't a thing then like it is now & we never thought one time about it. I am definitely inspired to get out our old photo albums and see what pictures we do have ... and take a walk down memory lane.
We lived in a trailer once but it was JANK, However… we made the best of it and had a lot of joy and happiness there together. I actually talked about it in a video. It’s not the “home” but what we make of any place God puts us. Loving the new home you have! We considered a manufactured home on land. It’s all so high right now, so I’m staying put for where we are and waiting on God to tell us what is next! Thank you for sharing! ❤
That’s so funny! I was married at 18 and my husband of 39yrs was 21. We lived in a 1978 single wide with 2brs and 1bth. Those were wonderful memories.♥️
When my husband & I got married first place we lived in apartment with a older lady & it was apartment that my brother & his wife lived in & then we move into 2 bedroom trailer when we moved dow. To we're are now we moved into another mobile home & now we live in a double wide mobile home that was my aunt.
I think that was a nice trailor. You had it fixed up with a nice, home feeling touch. Enjoyed the pictures of ya'll back when. I started following your channel when ya'll were living with your mother-in-law waiting to get into the place you are now. Shasta introduced you as you were doing a collab. Thanks for sharing. My first place I lived at after moving out on my own was a 2 bed 1 bath trailer as well. I think most people will have fond memories of their 1st place no matter the condition of it. Lol. - Renee
Beautiful first home 💝 I had a trailer when we had our 1st baby and then when we were pregnant with our 2nd baby (both boys) It was a 2bedroom 1 bath and I loved it. I loved the layout. We moved away and then I also lived in an apartment. I loved that layout as well and it had Great closets! It was laid out long wise like a trailer. We moved to another house that was a family home that I thought was gonna be our forever home, but we moved to our new home and have been here 1 yr and are happy. It's a simple home. If I've come to realize anything is that I love simple... And I love a slightly small type of home. Even with our Large family lol I like a place that is just enough 💝 Our new house has the same color counter top as my old apt when the boys were little. I really loved them. I'm so happy they're here too :) 💝 We've had a lot of ups and downs and moves along the way. (I spent some time in-between having a home) If anything I can say a house is a house and if we have to move again it'll be ok. The house doesn't make us Home. We're a home altogether no matter where.

HIYA! New sub here.....and fellow Alabamian!! My hubby and I also got married very young and had our first baby when I was 18 and he was 21....28 yrs and more 4 kiddos later...we're still together! I'm also an Auburn Alumni.....I went to AUM....and my family has been Auburn season ticket holders for over 40 yrs....needless to say I love Auburn! We started our family in a singlewide as well. Today we own a few homes....we own a business with offices in 5 Southern States and own homes in Louisiana and Florida, as well as 2 homes in Bama....to be very honest....my favorite is our doublewide with 3 acres by the lake...we spend the majority of the year here....we have built a large addition and sunroom on and honestly love it more than our other homes! I just wanted to reach out after I realized the similarities in our lives.....young marriage, 5 children, Alabama natives, Auburn, and mobile home country living!!

My husband and I were married at 19 and 20. Our first place was an apartment on the 3rd floor in a multi-family house (laundry was in the basement). I think I will dig out some photos of our first place and take a trip down memory lane. Thanks for sharing your first place with us.
Thank you for sharing your first home with your husband, I love hearing about the experience. Me and my husband are currently living in our first home together. It’s a trailer that is on his family’s property (we have a farm and lots of land) it has 2 bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a living room that’s it. I love this home especially because it’s easy to clean and it’s mine and my husband’s first home together. ❤

I have been on my Homestead for 14 years I live in a single wide mobile home pretty much identical to the one that you had as your first home, and I have been raising my 4 son ( And many of animals LOL) here as a single mom. Your videos always bring me encouragement but this one in particular really touched my heart thank you so much.
We were married at 20, young by today’s standards. We lived in an apartment for 1 yr, then bought our first home that was 1,100 sq ft. I loved our little house. Lots of great memories and 2 of our children were brought home to that house. We sold the home 15 yrs later and built our forever home. We added one more child to the mix and now 23 yrs later we are empty nesters. It happens in a blink of an eye. We are blessed.

Let me tell you, it's A LOT nicer than the trailer I lived in when I went to Tennessee Tech, and it is nicer than the cheap apartment I had when I went to the University of Tennessee!! When my dad died, we 4, mother and 3 girls, ended up living in an 8x37ft trailer just like the movie The Long, Long Trailer, which had two bedrooms, just one they didn't show. It wasn't insulated, so our shoes froze to the floor and the sheets to the walls and we had to move the TV to the floor when we wanted to eat at the table. Can you imagine 4 women in under 300 sq ft for two years? It was ghastly but good memories.
We have owned 3 mobile mansions and i miss the last one it was a 16x80 3 bedroom,2 bath,i loved it but when i became paralyzed we had to move to this accessible house and i don't like it!
your frist home was very nice nothung qwrong with it. Our frist home was in Japan hubby in the Navy it was one bedroom .kitchen room slash small living room love sit and one chair. One bathroom with a washng machine no dryer had a clothes line to dry clothes it was probably 60 sq feet. We were 20 and 22. only live there 10 months than we move into Navy housing I felt like that housing was so huge was about 1200 square feet. I was so Happy we had our frist baby there too.
I have learned some thing about Life as I am older now.Home to me is any where the Lord is.And I can take him any where and every where with me so home to me is any where I whined up.
It don't matter what you've lived in I grew up in a brick house and so did my hubby and we have lived in 9 houses now we have lived in this big double wide 13 years but we have lived in a beautiful bigger brick house and 2 single wides I know you are a good woman and I know you are not the the type to judge the house don't make you who you are
Its a little bit of a head game you know. The difference between being in the moment, the present tense and really understanding the moment. Its just a different state of mind to look back at something and not remember you were young, naive about how to live. It is really complex situation to leave the countertop decorations or the decorative curtains. Sometimes its just difficult to find you as a person --it takes a lot to gain experience. People are brutal about having respect for others including innocents. Its a difficult decision to know how to live...do you get the coffee maker, k-cup maker, expresso maker or f it and get instant coffee? I cant tell your house is filled with LoVe and that is another decision....wow lololo makes me laugh like how weird it is to have happiness in the constitution..how do you define that? how do you make your house something you can live in? lolo complex reflection....and a different kind of nick bare....a better kind lolol
