What he didn't mention, was that he and most other unionists politicians, have put the union in a perilous state by their support for Brexit. A Brexit the majority of people in N.I. voted against. When is the penny ever going to drop, that the British government have zero interest in N.I., and would like to see the back of it. Brexit has fast tracked this desire to see the back of it. The Unionists were warned that Brexit was going to cause problems for N.I. but they didn't want to know. Have the chickens come home to roost OR WHAT!!!

It is about time the media reported on what is happening in Northern Ireland pertaining to the election. Let's be honest, the people on the island of Great Britain don't really understand fully the politics of Northern Ireland and it is often far from our minds. Evidenced by the comparative lack of views of this video and very few comments in comparison with other election news. The DUP are entitled to their political opinion, but surely they must see this lack of interest by the rest of the UK and realise that very few ordinary people in Scotland, England and Wales will lament Northern Ireland becoming part of the Republic of Ireland. The only people that care are the politicians of the Conservative & Unionist Party and the likes of Reform who want to use Northern Ireland and specifically the customs border in the Irish Sea as political leverage. Putin loving Farage would likely happily attempt to annex the Republic Of Ireland before he even considered Northern Ireland leaving the union. That about sums up the level of interest and feeling of Northern Ireland being part of the union. Wake up DUP. You are Irish and far better off with the Republic as the peoples of Great Britain by and large, don't really give a toss. Sad, but true.

Whatbit shows is that while particularly the Tories want to treat Brexit as an unspeakable issue, in Northern Ireland, the issue of Brexit is very real. When that referendum was called for June 2016, it was treated as a one size fits all solution. The problem is that due to the ignorance at best, outright stupidity at worst by those on the Leave Campaign that claimed that Northern Ireland would be unaffected, it has left many angry that they have been duped and the consequence was that (Unionists and Nationalists can agree on this) that it made a United Ireland much closer to reality than before. All too often, people in England in particular, are ignorant of or outright ignore what happens in Northern Ireland. Perhaps it's about time they are listened to at last

Unionist politicians both in NI and Scotland live on a different planet. They know societies problems on these devolved areas are due to Westminster austerity. However they can't actually admit that because that I'd to admit the union is bad for these areas. They need to start being honest with themselves and the public.

As a southerner I don't see much hope for either NI or ROI in the long term. Both regions will be given over to Third World migrants. Dublin is now an absolute dump. Apart from the now well-established inward flow of Africans and Middle-Easterners, the indigenous Irish birth rate is now 1.17 far below the replacement level of 2.1. I assume that the NI birth rate is not any better, We don't care about a UI (it's just irrelevant and boring at this stage) but would rather see the whole of this Island and GB maintain their unique White European heritage. It really is sad what's happening to us.
