i have both the U1 and the 104. i used to think the clasps were kind of a weak link but over time i've come to appreciate the simplicity and thinness. They just work and that's good enough for me.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the U1. I was fortunate to purchase a U1-t DS this year. It’s running +2 seconds/day. It’s a badass watch that I wear more often than my Omega Planet Ocean or Sub. It’s hard to argue with the high value of Sinn watches, in general, and with this beautiful tegimented beast in particular. Thanks for the review, Rob! Love your channel.
I have the fully Tegimented U1 in the blue colorway. I really like it a lot. It's big and heavy, with a great wrist presence. Mine dropped a screw into the movement and had to go back for service, but has been performing flawlessly since. Watchbuys (purchasing) and RGM (servicing) are both easy to deal with. It's still my favorite watch after a year.
The only thing preventing me from buying the U50 is the clasp. I’ve had a 104 and 556 TWICE EACH and the clasp (and bracelet) on my £350 G-Shock full metal square is better. Sinn, PLEASE do a milled clasp for everything! We’ll pay the premium! 😫
Very nice watch, and review. I have two U1s, one on silver bracelet, and one all-black with blue dial. And did you guys know that all black U1s are fully tegimented, and that the process of applying the black hard coating on top of the tegimented metal yields a Vickers hardness of 2,000??!! That's approaching the hardness of a sapphire crystal. If you guys want to check out that stat, look up Sinn's Technology Glossary online, and find the term "Black Hard Coating."
A watch that you really dive with you’d want play in the bezel. These newer watches that have tight smooth bezels the least little debris gets in them and they lock up!
Few things. The bezel is screwed on to prevent it being knocked off, it doesnt adjust bezel tension. I was told by watchbuy rep that the play in the bezel is to get grit out easily. Also i had a U1 and the lume lasts all night ...long and steady. Great watch and video
Cool video Rob. The U1 is an iconic Sinn diver. The Titanium Sinn divers are the EZM14 (T1 & T1B) T1B is discontinued, and the discontinued EZM15 (T2 & T2B). The T1 will be going out of production at the end of this year as well. Hopefully Sinn will release a new titanium diver in the near future. For me, the T1 & T1B are the ultimate Sinn divers and I’m stoked to own both of them 😊
Do you dive with your T1 and T1B? Ive owned a Sinn U1 B for a couple of years now and its getting close to 100 dives. Using the Sinn Duoflex diving strap system. Have been curious about getting a T1 as my 2nd diver. Cant be without a divewatch when the U1 B eventually needs a service 😅. How does the push down bezel work in fat coldwater diving gloves in the water?
@@Jeaglelol I don’t dive, I surf 🏄♂️ The bezel works fine in the water and is easy to grip. The bezel is easy to clean as well. A .8mm screwdriver easily removes the 4 tiny screws. I highly recommend the T1/T1B. They’re the most comfortable divers I’ve worn.
@@spence6226 Might go for a T1 while its still for sale. As I already have the U1 B I feel like the black T1 would be the logical choice. Thanks for the input!
