The concertation shown in the face of Siobhan is so much like that of her late father, Tommy. The music is surrpassingly great, too.

Many thanks for posting this. Should we be surprised just how wonderful this is given Siobhán’s lineage …very, very, nice indeed! God how I miss hearing this stuff live and the first time in many years I have not been to Clare to see Blackie and the lads playing due to this dam pandemic!!!! Undoubtedly one of the most talented and exciting pipers and on the planet and a magnificent sight to behold when the guys are “let loose” and “absolutely on fire”. Here’s hoping it will be business as usual in 2021 for these wonderful musicians, pubs, B&B’s etc. etc. Take care out there all and be safe. 👏👏👏👏👏

The amazing thing about Siobhan Peoples is that she lost use of her pinky and ring finger as a teenager and had to learn the fiddle all over again basically playing with only her index and middle fingers. She does it by moving back and forth between first and second position and when possible stretching her middle finger to get that third note on a string. You can see she keeps her useless ring finger bent back over the pinky to keep her focus on the two working fiddle fingers. As a fiddler myself I can tell you that is no small accomplishment.

I have been at the old ground hotel and heard them play late into the night. I laughed and I cried and I didn't touch a drop. I am curious about ms. People's fiddle fingering. Crossed pinkie? ???

@@splortz Siobhán lost feeling in some of her fingers and therefore relearned to play with just two fingers. Very impressive!

@@splortz I heard she lost the ability to use a finger or two for fiddling. A bit like Django Rheinardts.

My only criticism here is all that resin powder on the fiddle. She's got enough on there to cover the side of the Titanic. It will eventually destroy the appearance and tone of the instrument. The fact that the resin is there in the first is because she has loaded her bow with too much of the stuff. Apart from this, a very nice performance.

Someone who can't spell "rosin" is probably the one we should be listening to when it comes to playing the fiddle.

@@hoogreg both rosin and resin are correct in English, man. Colophony would be more precise, Kolophonium in German or colophane in French for la lésine. English is bright enough.
