Hello!
For today's easy recipe we will be cooking siopao asado ground pork! I will be sharing tips and tricks to make your siopao dough white! Yummy!
Enjoy cooking!
Ingredients:
For Filling:
1/2 kg ground pork
3 tbsp onion
2 tbsp garlic
4 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp shortening or lard
4 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 cup water
1/2 tsp anis
1 tbsp cornstarch deluted with 1/2 cup water
For Dough:
4 cups flour
2 cups warm milk
1 1/2 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp baking powder
4 tbsp white sugar
4 tbsp lard or shortening

I followed your recipe dough by heart twice . Your flour was not right. Kahit sabi mo 3 1/4 total 4. Noong iyong ini add seems 4. Kindly correct for the sake of other who don’t know how to make it rights. Seems good but please give the right recipe.thank you and sorry

Same. It is delicious the feeling and everything. Im not sure if its my flour but i add more because my dough was tin. I also have question, why my dough become watery when I steam it 😭😭

Love your technique for a whiter dough. Love your videos. I've never seen the towel used before (I have a lid with glass to check). What exactly is the purpose of the towel????? Is it to absorb the condensation?

I tried another recipe but the dough is quite dry & didn't rise well. I also tried your siopao recipe, I got the right consistency. The dough was very soft. PERFECT! Thank you for sharing.

Hi! Using the mixer, how long was the first setting (mixing and what number in mixer setting) then I noticed you change the mixer setting to knead and what number is it, how long? I hope to hear from you. Thanks

Blessed Soul the first setting was no.2 speed for 2 mins. and the second setting was no.4 speed for 3 mins. thanks.

i am sapphire sorry 4 tbsp in total sa dough,1 tbsp sa pagparise ng yeast at ung remaining 3 tbsp sugar ng imix na lahat ng dry ingredients, pero Kahit 4 or 5 tbsp still good parin.salamat.

salamat po dito sa measurements ng ingredients..malaking tulong para sa mga housewives para may pangmiryenda sa pamilya. iba pa rin kasi ang home made lalo na kung gawa ni nanay..may kasamang pagmamahal ang pag gawa natin diba ate? i will try this for sure. padala ka naman po ng asado siopao sa amin ate salamat in advance....

Using lard even .making the filling...that will kill ur customers or someone who.will eat ur siopao...lard is a transfat.

I used this recipe. The next time I make it, I will reduce the amount of yeast from 1 1/2 tablespoons to 2 1/2 teaspoons and reduce 4 tablespoon soya sauce to 3 tablespoons or a tad less than 3 tablespoons. But thank you for sharing. I chose to watch your channel because I would rather watch than listen to verbal demo.

Do you know why the dough came out so sticky? I tried it 3 times but the results came out the same. So sticky and the dough keep on raising.

I was waiting for the white dough ? You didn't say How ? Is it a secret ? I saw in other recipes : to put vinigar, or baking Soda in the boiling water for steaming. Which one ? Vinigar or baking Soda ?

That’s also my question, she didn’t mention the type of flour being used. I just wasted my time. I’ll continue to use the bagged flour from the Asian stores. Thy’ll tell you what to add etc.

If you're in the Philippines, use White King all-purpose flour. Here in the US I use Gold Medal. My asado is way diff than on the video. It's a recipe from Luusa and Sons, but my Dad tweaked it a little and made it better. We used to deliver siopaos from Laguna to Manila.

paalsahin ang dough sa warm na lugar or ipreheat ang oven ng 2 mins at sa loob ng oven ilagay ang dough at kailangan 2 beses paalsahin masahin muna bago paalsahin uli

I love how you just used the mixer for everything. Very practical and no unnecessary washing up. Also, love that you used ground pork as it will be much more easier to form and tender to the bite, Brilliant! Can’t wait to give it a go!

I do not think the white shortening she put on the mixing bowl does the trick to make it white. She is not telling what kind of flour she is using, bleached ? Hongkong flour? Or what other additive she put in the dough.
