She liked the way the "backing singer" looked, in the Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie video. And that singer is Shirley Manson, who later became the singer for Garbage.
always. she looks great now as well. I admire her tremendously. Just as a person who is art herself. And the songs of course. I was a hippie-dippy kinda wee girl. Loved all kinds of music.....ahhh she says "No dont give it away!!".. haha! she speaks up when needed. LOVE her.
One minute and forty six seconds in and I've fallen more in love with her. An ironic fact is the friend who introduced me to their music died on Siouxsie's bday in 2007.
The Peepshow, 'Louise Brooks'-style Siouxsie was always my favourite of her images so I'm probably biased but this is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen her. She really suits being skinny and her hair and skin look gorgeous.
*@snowbelle74* Everyone might have their own favourite Sioux......mine was the earliest years till 1980 ....and the 1991 "Kiss Her For Me" version. Was never a big fan of the huge layers of warpaint version . Although one had to feel for her torture to turn herself each day into "Siouxsie" the "goth" mother. Would've loved to see her once without all that war paint .
Siouxsie was quick to spot the talented female backing singer in Goodbye goodbye mr mckenzie for those who dont know the singer is none other than Shirley Manson...
This was the night I discovered Goodbye Mr Mackenzie. I hope Shirley Manson has seen this - her idol Siouxsie singling her out for praise must have been an amazing feeling.
videos played and talked about: Stump - Charlton Heston Yello-The Race - and mentioned -The Rhythm Divine Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie with Shirley Manson Jack 'n' Chill - Beatin' The Heat Peter Gammons - On the Beach Prefab Sprout - Hey Manhattan! you can find them all on the utubes
Everyone slags off this guy but in all the interviews I’ve seen people seem to enjoy talking to him and do open up. He also does know his stuff music-wise. What is his name, I can’t see it mentioned anywhere?
Yeah I've noticed a trend where people tend to talk shit on every interviewer like this, but if they were in his shoes they'd probably clam up and not know what to ask their own idols if they had the chance to pick their brain.
Oh I was 9 years old back then, funny how new goth and indiebands are inspired by Siouxsie and The Banshees and stil have a new sound without being copycats, but being creative and experimental that is an imprint Sioxsie have left on the past, present and the future.
Siouxie looked more radiant and gorgeous with every frame.. The interviewers hair just got more thatched, unpredictable and desperate the longer the program went on!
Ever beautiful & brilliant, the shamefully underrated Siouxsie. She's the elephant in the boy's only club of music....they feel inadequate so they ignore her.... Promotion is essential.
I Saw S&tB in 1986 Tinderbox Tour they were amazing - but Siouxsie fell off stage at Hammersmith Odeon and broke her leg - she came back on next day in a cast though and played on
I love her, but some of us don't get our 'insights from retrospect' and realised Paddy was a genius working on the kind of canvas that SS - despite making some killer albums herself, particularly when McGeoch was around - could never grasp, nor would attempt to. I'm a Swoon/Protest Songs/obscure B-sides fanboy all day long though, so I would say that... that's where the real gold is.
@@telsutton Prefab PSrout is one of the most over rated bands, Beatles copycats but with no balls no sex appeal. The simple fact that you call Prefab Sprout's singer only by his first name Paddy says it all.
@@carljules3123 what the fuck are you on .. mc aloon wrote more out standing songs then this one had hot dinners..wouldnt kick her out of the bed do ....
@@skatf Paul Thompson . I used to see him around with a certain social group in London , and he really was a cocky twat . The last I heard he'd moved to New Zealand
@@skatf He got out a long time ago . Not as daft as he looked . Maybe he grew up and got over himself . I came close to punching him in the face at a party once
