The problem with climate is that when polled, a vast majority of people want action, but when asked if they would want to have $100 extra in taxes to pay for climate-mitigation, the percentage drops from 65% to 30%.

They represent their voters. It's easy to blame the leaders, but the real culrpit are their voters who are either indifferent or in denial. 65% of Americans support big climate action, but only 30% would support it if it meant $100 in extra taxes per year.

I'm listening to the environmental conference happening in Scotland that President Biden is attending. This morning as I was first getting up, I heard a psychic message. It was simply Antonio Gutierrez. So I am paying attention to what he is saying in particular. He is the Secretary General of the United Nations. What David Attenborough says is getting through to our leaders. It's very encouraging. Gutierrez is stepping up as a global leader. We need global leaders with this kind of commitment and passion to do something about climate change.

My heart breaks for our planet, WE ALL HAVE TO GET SERIOUS AND DEVELOP A CONSCIENCE take responsibility and do everything possible to turn the coming disaster around so we can continue to live and thrive. I’ve been doing my bit since I was born in 1952. My parents had me out in nature the day they bought me home from hospital and I’ve been connected to the natural world ever since. It’s second nature to me to respect and do everything I can to help I don’t even have to think about taking care of what is around me it just comes so easily. I would not be able to live or breathe comfortably unless I go outside into my garden everyday even to just sit and contemplate how fantastic and intriguing the natural world is, it’s a lesson in itself every time I marvel at our world but I get people ridiculing me and asking why the fuss, I just tell them stop and take a minute then have a good look at what is happening around you and be brave, forget about those who don’t understand or care and do something even the littlest thing to help. It will make a difference if we just try after all it’s humans who have done the damage and it’s up to us all to help repair the damage before it is too late and we commit our own suicide because that is exactly what we are doing to ourselves. I hope the world will finally sit up and take notice after this summit.

I do like david but he has been flying around the world most of his life with a film crew and then a documentary about wildlife in the planet only problem is we all watched it all and then wanted to see it for ourselves so if wasn't for tv we wouldn't know these places existed and wouldn't all have jumped on planes and gone to see these places for ourselves causing these problems to the world each and every one of us is to blame I'm am adding to the problem just by writing this because I used electricity to charge my phone up. Our use of electricity is very much to blame.
@MarkFarge
@MarkFarge 2 года назад
Not if the electricity you used came from a renewable source.
@taniaaustin6433
@taniaaustin6433 2 года назад
@@MarkFarge in uk it mostly comes from coal power because most countries rely on coal power. We could have got rid of coal power stations years ago if it wasn't for the demand in electricity. Friends if the earth explained this to us in the early eighties as they explained with the up coming technology it would mean more demand for coal. Only in those days we were lucky to have a calculators computers were still in their infancy
@MarkFarge
@MarkFarge 2 года назад
@@taniaaustin6433 Developed countries are seeing their reliance on fossil fuels reduce as governments push towards renewable energy sources. That means that the electricity we use comes from a mixture of non-renewable and renewable energy. Its slow progress but it means that currently its hard to determine whether your phone was charged from wind power, nuclear, gas or coal. Or as I suspect a mixture of all of the above. David Attenborough may have discovered the impact his carbon footprint has had on the wild the hard way, but he can now pave the way to a brighter future using what he has learned over his lifetime.
@taniaaustin6433

@@MarkFarge it's not that and I agree with him but I don't have a car or computers and have really tried over the years to be aware all the time I've been aware and trying I've been told by other people to sod the environment and now I'm lectures by people that drive around in cars that have TVs in every room and the younger generation s are blaming oeople like me for it when they are just as much to blame Friends of the Earth are a brilliant organization that was set up nearly 5O years ago warning people then that's why it was set up in the First place. Madonna did a concert years ago and said people should switch lights if to save the planet most of us live in small houses and do this anyway the but that hot everyone is that she arrived at the concert by helicopters. When I was a child we didn't have central heating in many houses so it was so cold ice would form on in the inside of the windows if that happened now I'm people wouldn't cope so it would be unacceptable . There are still people alive today that never had electricity bin their homes at all as children. We've been aware of this for years only it's only in the past few years it's become trendy to care no one listened to us and we are now to feel guilty.. we didn't have cars everybody' had to walk miles to school

Did you know a quarter of rush hour traffic going in to London every morning is children be driven to school the poor kids that walk to school then end up with breathing problems There was a little girl that died not long ago from the effects of traffic. We can't have are Cake and it it. By the way London has the best public transport system than anywhere else in Uk. It takes me over any hour and Half to get to hospital appointment where it would take just 25 mins in the car I don't mind that but many other people would. Most of Uk is inaccessible without a car
