Michael Cain is a dying breed, A true super star and a interesting interviewee unlike today's dull and boring stars who have nothing significant or interesting say,
My aunt Nell, (Ellen Mills) used to baby sit Maurice and my mum Joanie when they lived down the Elephant. She said he was a lovely little lad, always smiling and quite grown up for his age. Gawd bless all of them, so long ago now.
Two elderly gents sitting talking; sounds as if it should be as dry as dust, but it turns out to be true entertainment of the highest order. An absolute joy to listen to.
1968 working as a clerk at Fortmun and Mason Micheal came in and chatted to me He always talked to the working man I told him in the lift I like The Ipcress File the film he was in and we chatted He said he was flat sharing with Terrence Stamp but Terrence was fussy about what films he was offer Micheal said he took anything "If you throw enough mud at the wall something will stick " latter he came in with his know wife such a genuine person and remember me. That's class
One of the funniest and most entertaining persons anywhere. I can listen to Sir Michael Caine tell his stories, humourous ones, or serious ones for hours. Ramble on Mr. Micklewhite !
Never really liked 'show bizz' people, always thought they were over paid & over regarded - especially by them selves! - but Sir Michael Caine is such a splendid human being, the world needs more such as he!
I wonder how long it will be before we look back at this icon and remember what a great actor/ person he was ? Sir Michael is 89 when he goes the best of the best will never be seen again, thank you for all your work and if you have any problem with the Pearly Gates "Just blow the bloody doors off"
@@paulinehumphreys2678 He truly is a great actor and he 's suposed to be a great guy too. After he made it big and he was able to buy a really nice place to live in ,he took in a friend of his who he served in Korea with. He's also a great lover of animals besides. All of that makes him okay in my book.
Never enjoyed him too much in films like Get Carter, and the series of anti bond films he made. But when I saw him in Educating Rita I was totally wowed and have been a big fan ever since. A classy act. And definitely a national treasure.
I love Michael Caine, a superb actor, a very good story teller, very humorous and extremely entertaining. Always enjoy his interviews n his movies of course. 🤗🤗🤗 ..
What a lovely lovely man. My daughter at sixteen back In the eighties was working up London saw him and chased him down Oxford Street for his autograph and was so out of breath when she caught up with him. He was such a gentleman and signed it. She has kept it to this day.
I've lived in Canada, The US, NZ & now Greece. I'm from Scotland. I honestly think Parky had the best questions, the best research and asked things that the viewers really wanted to know. Too many talk show hosts are more concerned with themselves or trying to be funny, the US is terrible for that.
That's what I shared with my daughter. The difference btw American talk shows and British ones. No snazzy stage, no flower arrangements, no fancy furniture, no band, no backdrop except for that curtain. Just two blokes, two chairs and a whole lot of gripping tales.
Parkie is the best interviewer ever. Caine is just the best. A northern Yorkshire lad chatting with a southern shandy drinking londoner.... no pretence just two friends having a chat. That's Parkie's gift, he's just got that manner that relaxes people and lets them talk.... You won't find anyone today as good as these two in their respective roles.
Met a guy who saw him on the street when he was doing "Hannah and her sisters." Caine noticed him and said "Hi." Caine conversed with him in a very cordial way. Real nice man actually. Very down to earth.
Could listen to him all night!!..What a raconteur!!!...and I should imagine an interviews dream!!!.... Ask him one question and you get half a dozen stories....Always great value and a total pro!!
How wonderfully honest from this wonderful actor, I love his stories especially about his brother told with such love. The story about his mother working with Adam Faith's mum.
love michael caine. read all his books, know all the stuff but somehow, i've never seen this particular episode of Parky. Wonderful stuff as always, if MC was 70 then this was 2003. He's now 89 and i've just realised he's been so quiet lately. Never mind, i still think he's great (not that fussed about a lot of the films actually)
That was a triumph of the talk show. An interviewer more interested in his guest's input, and a guest at his ease as a raconteur to an audience who obviously love him. A jewel of an interview.
I watched this interview when it was first aired and since RU-vid have been trying to find it. Michael appeared on the show a few times but this was the best interview. Thanks for the post 👍🏻👏🏻
while on patrol in Korea war surrounded by chinese soldiers"we literaly peed on ourselves out of fear"..what an honest man. ..and a great storyteller...and actor.
My father was in Bomber Command , Lancaster's navigator, I once asked him what it was like ....he too honestly replied "we shat ourselves darling , " Well, I did ask ...and that really just goes to show how incredibly brave all these young men really were . Bravery is not the absence of fear ,it is the doing of something ....IN SPITE OF that fear . Poop, per and all ! Thank you for your service Sir.
@@fionahiggins6682 Hello Fiona ..my father was a corporal in the Dutch colonial army ww2. He was a pow in a japanese prison camp. As a child, I could never ask how it was, the trauma was too great I guess. He did not tell that much, only one or two things, and the fear that he projected on my innocent child brain was enormous. As you mention it ....IN SPITE OF that fear...Thank you Fiona.
@@philsarkol341 Goodness ... I never expected a reply ! Thank you. My Uncle, Berick Knight Simpson ,was also captured by the Japanese , interred ,and miraculously survived . He was continually asked why ,after such horrific conditions ,he still "wolfed" down rice ? His simple response was " this is what kept me alive ". The absolute honour and bravery shown buy these young men ....in any war ....is astounding and so very heroic .
What a terrific interview! I've always liked Sir Caine. It was marvelous to see him with his wit, yet somber early life. Always loved "Alphie". Still remember the evening I saw you in that great film, your engaging personality. and the words of the title song. Thank you Sir for your gifted acting and humor, especially the ability to laugh at oneself. Best go you and yours!
What a skilled interviewer and Sir Michael Caine was nothing short of wonderful - what a down to earth, sincere and charming individual. The world needs more men like this.
"I had to work. Remember I had to buy everyone a house..." he really looked out for his own family, which to me tells what a great man he must be. So little selfishness you don't find very often these days.
He was featured on an episode of Border control uk. He was stsnding in line to have his passport stamped and checked as he returned to uk. The immigration officer a young lady spotted him and smiled. When he reached her counter she did the necessary and said’have a nice day mr caine’ and he wished her back’ you have a nice day too young lady! So respectful and nice
Fantastic stuff. You can see that Sir Michael Caine was clearly at ease in this interview. Parky was the best interviewer on our screens ever. Even my nan loved 'parky'!
I'm sure M Caine could have done this interview solo and we wouldn't have missed the interviewer . Very charming, gracious and humorous; never an awkward moment.
