Celebrated chat show host Sir Michael Parkinson has died peacefully at home at the age of 88 surrounded by loved ones, his family has said.
Mike Graham says: “He was a one off, you won’t see people like that again… he interviewed everyone.”
The TV star host interviewed some of Hollywood’s biggest names throughout his illustrious career - with names such as Jimmy Cagney, Fred Astaire, Lauren Bacall and Ingrid Bergmann on the list.
Mark Wogan, son of Terry Wogan, describes Parkinson as “uncompromising” who was true to himself.
Sharing the similarities between the two revered TV icons, Wogan says: “They didn’t do what they did to be famous, they did it because they loved doing it.”
