What's up guys! back with a new video!
In this vid I'll be setting up one of the new king cobra enclosures with my good friend Tomma aka @anylifephotography on instagram. Got fantastic footage from his cameras!
I also talk a bit about my king that's going in.. Sir Scratchewan.
Thank you for watching!

Chris ... I am so impressed with your level of husbandry when it comes to providing a naturalistic set up for your myriad creatures. The living 'bio-terrariums' or mini-living ecosystems or whatever you peeps call the set-ups, are just incredible. It must give the reptiles a much closer approximation to their natural habitat ... rather than the more typical plastic hides, artificial plants and barren, featureless vision boxes ... kept that way for ease of cleanliness/handling. I have watched numerous You Tube reptile "hobbyists" ... and your reptile room and set-ups along with your excellent excursions to go herping ... whether just in your front garden or much, much further afield ... really are outstanding in comparison to many other channels, so well done Chris. I have learnt alot (a shitload!) about snakes and snake husbandry. Thank you.

What a profound statement; "Just remember, the strongest thing you have to fight against blind fear and hate is knowledge. For we are a collective conscious, sharing this space with many living beings around us. It would be wise to never hold your existence above others. Look onto their eyes and envision yourself in their place. Everything has a place on this earth." This has truly touched my being, your understanding of life, whether big or small. We share energies, cohesively circling, what we give out we get back. I love your reptile videos, however I would really love to see a video of your spiritual beliefs, and teachings. Whether that you give, or that you receive. You are wise beyond your years, and clearly an old soul. You have found your purpose and it is enlightening to see you share your wisdom. Thank you, for your words, for your thoughts, they are truly inspiring 🌙🫶🏼

Chris, thanks for another awesome video. I absolutely love the King Cobra. So interesting to watch. Their curiosity, their stunning looks and attitude. Thanks to you, Chandler, Tyler, and Davidsfeed, I along with thousands of others have become huge fans of the King. I have a Desert Rosey Boa that I have had for 23 years. He is a great pet but in no way has the personality and fascinating curiosity that the Cobras have. I will continue to enjoy my Rosey that I can handle and watch his slow, quiet behavior. Then I can tune in your channel and watch worlds most awesome snake, the King Cobra.

Until now I haven’t ever really looked at a snake and the word “cute” come to mind. Maybe “beautiful”, “stunning’” , “handsome” or something of the like but Sir Scratchy may just be the first snake I could honestly say “cute” came to mind. He’s also those other words but his little face almost looks like he’s smiling. It’s sad that he had a rough go of things early on in life but he certainly is one lucky guy to end up getting you for a forever dad!

I used to fear snakes like crazy, though I never wanted to kill them. I know the pity you talk about. It isn’t their fault they were born a snake. They have a right to Earth and a right to live without hatred, I truly agree. But your presentations make me care for them emotionally, I can relate to their life goals of safety, food, breeding. I don’t feel threatened anymore. I feel it is important for me to know how to anticipate them, and avoid them, if possible, and make sure that any encounter between me and a snake will be safe for both of us.

I SO respect you and the love and passion that you have for each of your snakes and the great quality of life you offer each of them !!! I sure do wish more snake keepers were more passionate about their snakes :) The tail wagging is called snake caudal luring, what they do to attract prey items to eat :) I do 4 cage checks every 24 hours because observation is the key to raising healthy social snakes :)

Thanks for taking us with you on this journey into realizing the magnificence of snakes and their habitats in unequaled style son. I loved the chance to meet yet another of your king cobras and was amazed at how characterful and different their presence can be! I was also so impressed by your trying to imagine how Sir Scratchy would want his home to look and feel and how hard you worked to ensure you achieved this as opposed to how ‘pretty’ it looked for you to look at. More and more whilst watching your videos I’m left thinking just how lucky your animals are to have found the absolute best life they can live next to being out there in the wild. I’ve never been particularly motivated towards learning about snakes, particularly king cobras, but since watching your content I’ve found myself actually researching and learning more about these magnificent animals..I doubt that I’m alone in this new mindset and this is entirely down to you Chris-can’t wait for the next enclosure and video!

5:15 OH actually that would be really interesting though. If you have contacts at a venom lab or facility, you could do that test they use instead of injecting mice. Something like adding the same amount of venom to a dish with human nerve cells and seeing what dose it takes to stop them firing to determine the lethal dose. But it would be cool to see the different localities and how similar or not the results were. Im sure someone must have done studies on it at some point, but Id be really interested to actually see/learn about the process. Obviously I don't know if youd be able to find a place to do it, but just if you ever did, itd be a really cool video. LD50s and the testing are one of the few snake topics you really cant find much about, probably cause the way with the mice would get them demonitized and is also sad. But the cell cultures obviously wouldn't. Or if anyone knows of a good documentary about it?
