I was fortunate enough to get Stirling's signature on a beautiful, German made, re-creation of the 1955 Mille Miglia poster when he was at a previous Lime Rock Park Historic Festival. He was the winner in the Racing Sports Class in his 300 SLR. John Fitch in a 300 SL won the Standard Sports Class. I was very fortunate to be invited to John's home so he too could sign it. Sadly, John passed away there at his home 2 months later. Both men were tops in what they accomplished in their racing years! Gentlemen - RIP to you both.
