The comedy with Sir Topham Hatt was hit and miss in CGI series but in my opinion Sir Topham Hatt has more good moments that bad moments in the CGI series.
Sir Topham Hatt definitely became a punching bag in the CGI era. He used to be this highly regarded and well respected authority figure now he’s a funny fat bald guy.
3:05 i dont really like when they make him the butt of a silly joke (especially if its because he's fat) but i really like how this showcased how stressful being a controller really is, and that even Topham has his days.
All the Hatt’s were Hatless. Funny. Also, Sir Topham Hatt could use some help from Christopher Cormac Mitchell (Sir C.C Mitchell). Sir C.C Mitchell is the head manager of the Sodor & Mainland Freight Company, which is a subsidiary company to the real life Freightliner Group. C.C Mitchel is a good business partner to the Controllers of both The Daleton Railway (A standard gauge railway in the far north end of Sodor), and The North Sodor Railway (A narrow gauge railway in the far north end of Sodor).
1:49 there was a meme somewhere that says something along the lines of “Sir Topham Hatt and Lady Hatt haven’t been seen together after season 17, I guess the ‘jam incident’ was the last straw, so she filed a divorce”
Well that’s obviously not true because they were shown together in Rosie Sees Red and probably a bunch of other times that I can’t list off the top of my head.
When Topham is comedic and funny, people don't like it. When he's a stern, well respected, authority figure people still don't like it (looking at you SLOTLT haters) People need to make up their minds.
I honestly blame Mr. Bubbles in "Slippy Sodor" because of how he didn't think clearly about transporting his bubble liquid in a barrel with no lid rather than tanker. What if you do Sir Topham Hatt regretting his job and other stories?
I mean it technically is Sodor’s fault for being such a dysfunctional railway. I mean they literally had a balloon held on by ropes on a flat car in one episode.
@@huntercoleman460I also wondered about how did Percy get out of the tunnel when he and Thomas were delivering the 2nd balloon and how at this point Mr. Bubbles' lungs are not falling apart from blowing up 4 balloons by mouth instead of using helium pumps.
@@jeremiahsisaias8677 I mean you feel bad Mr. Bubbles’ lungs but at the same time why is he still putting faith in these two idiots who can’t deliver one balloon?
Sir topham hatt: *didn’t believe Thomas and punishes him in the dynamite scene in slotlt* Post Slotlt writers and some toxic Thomas fans: you’re free trial of living has ended!
Probably not. It wouldn't have made much of a difference in the first one anyway since in S19-present, Topham Hatt in both UK and the US dub have the same voice.
The guy is a railway controller. He HAS to be stern and stuff, it's part of his job. Though I have to agree that he was kinda being a jerk in that movie.
@amyrodgers4252 Yeah, because look, Thomas did cause some trouble in the beginning of "Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure", but did Sir Topham Hatt forget that 2 wrongs don't make a right and he has no right to enforce it at all? Now even if he realized that he was being a jerk to Thomas in SLOTLT and apologized for it, Sir Topham Hatt would still have to suffer from bad luck, anyway, because sometimes, apologizing won't be enough to undo the mistake he made.
Times sir topham's hat got blown off x4 I also seem to think that he could've just moved out of the way when he seen the cream and jam barrels flying towards them
