Once again you've knocked it out the ball park. Gorgeous soundscape you've created with that new bass, keep going, you and Dave help keep some of us on our toes as far as playing goes. Thank you.
Thank you! So happy I found you and thank you for your honest demo and your exceptional enthusiasm. Think I'll grab one even though I will have to wait. And that tells you something too!
Massive shoutout to you Cici for a super review of that Sire Bass, and what amazing meditative playing in the end wow , so good, but with a good instrument in ones hand it open portals to higher dimensions in musicspace,..Love cheers to you Cici💚💫🕉☯
I ordered one of these today but the 5 string version. I can't wait for it to arrive i'm so excited😅 This is such a good video and review huge props to this, keep on smashing it!✌✌
I've been trying hard to resist buying a Sire Marcus bass because I really don't need another bass. But man, this video is making it near impossible for me not to give in! I mean after all... I don't have a P-style bass. And everyone should have a P bass in their arsenal, right? Great review!
I love my P5R! Great quality build, and sounds great! As a matter of fact, I installed a set of Radioshop Vintage ‘61 P Bass Pickups into mine, and it sounds even better! The stock pickups already sound great, but Radioshop’s pickups are a complete game changer!
Lovely video again Cici. I own a 1st gen Sire V7 jazzbass and absolutely adore is. It's a bit weighty and hasn't got the rolled fingerboard it sounds and plays like a dream and looks great also ( white with red tortois and rosewood fingerboard ). Ridiculous well built and finished instrument. Sire is great. Best.
@@CiciVonStrangelove thank you,I first saw you on Andertons channel and was impressed,I’ve been watching your own channel and some of your playing is mesmerising, and very inspiring too,I’ve been playing a long time ( still not very good 😂)I’ve never really stopped playing but you’ve definitely rekindled my passion for bass 🔥👏👏👏 you have a bright future.
@@robertmansell3667 Wow, that’s absolutely awesome, I’m so happy to hear that :) Thank you so much for the kind words, and for taking the time to check out my videos!
Thank you so much! :) I love that technique, that riff is actually from a song called Count Zero by Stu Hamm, if you’d like to learn that exact riff! (I could maybe do a video on it sometime too)
Very passionate. Thank you for the review. Don’t know, if the jam-part is really the best piece to hear the ‚true‘ and pure characteristics of this particular bass, but it was very mesmerizing and captivating, so basically I enjoyed this part the most. Well done. And nice bass, it’s on my wish-list for some time.
Ive been wanting to pull the trigger on a few sires the past few years and keep putting it off, i absolutely love the genuine exitement this instrument clearly has given you, its absolutely sold it to me , off to buy a P and a V
Picked one up because I was heading into the studio to record a song and wanted a P Bass for that. I can't put it down. It has taken over. I absolutely love this bass.
A great review and a hautingly lovely piece you played on that stunning P5. There are several Sire's I'm interested in and currently I am tossing it back and forth between the P5 vs D5 which is the original 1951 version of the P-Bass.
Love the way you play Cici........... When you are doing the..... "Well it goes like this, the fourth the fifth......The minor fall and the major lift"................Listening to you by coincidence and the birth of my 3rd grandchild today inspired me to write a beautiful piece of poetry and music.
I was actually looking at the Sire p5 as my next bass! I love that they roast the maple neck too. 😊 it has an awesome sound. That jam at the end was really trippy. 😎 loved it!!! 😍
Great review Cc🙌. Your content convinced me to buy a P5 and it turned up yesterday and omg that neck is utterly incredible !! I have 3 american Fender guitars and the P5 neck is 80% as good as the necks on them and they cost from £1650 to £2200 and the P5 only cost me £377 so wtf lol. I cant explain it but how ever its possible I'm just deeply perplexed but hugely blessed l! Anyway thank you so much for the excellent content and keep up the awesome work 🙏💪. Cheers ☺️
The more I hear these Millers, the more I love them. With everything they have done, it makes them a posh entry level bass. Beautiful aesthetics, attention to detail, and doesn't break the bank.
nice bass player and talented. I bought this bass and it should arrive next week. I have a fender jb and always wanted a Precision so I looked at this piece and ordered it. I hope I will be satisfied.
It is definitely an eye catcher. I have a question about the gloss fingerboard finish. Have they applied finish over the fretted neck? Like Fender American pro or the old standard series with maple necks? Poly finish goes on so thick and only leaves a thin sliver of fret material to play on after the leveling and crowning process. It is not an easy thing to detect in the photos. Thank you
Just got mine. It's amazing. Everything you say is true and more. The tuners and knobs feel great and work really really well. Even the string tree is great! The only issue I have with mine is the tortoise shell pickguard is not a true and unique swirl but appears to be some kind of cheap, repeating print
I adore my P5. I've got the sunburst. With flats it's amazing. Wondering if you've tried the P5r model with the rosewood fingerboard and vintage pickup?
Wow... An amazing review of the honest instrument built by genuine hands. Great 👍 Would you share exactly what pedals and effects did you use. Plz reply in pinpoint way if you get some time. Many thanks Cheers
I recently bought this bass guitar for my project studio! Great bass too! Curious what was your signal chain used in this video? Great demo of the bass!
Yeah, I played a bunch of basses at Guitar center today. I noticed that I preferred the satin finish on the back of the neck. A glossy finish felt like it was too sticky for me.
Amazing 😁I had one of the older Sire model and they were awesome. Thinking about P-Bass now and I think I will give it a shot. Any first thing you would recommend to update or it is just good to go as it is?
Awesome!! There’s nothing I would change on this bass. I love the sound and feel (and look) of it, but I know that could come down to personal preference. It’s definitely worth trying one out and seeing what you think :)
Hi Cici - by any chance, have you had the opportunity to play the Sire MM D5 Alder with the single Tele-style pickup? I have my eye on this one. Love and appreciate your content. Cheers!
Hey Brian! I haven’t yet, but I’d like to! Sorry about that. If you do get one, I’d love to know your thoughts on it :) Thank you so much for the kind words, I’m really glad you like the channel! It means a lot to hear that.
I-m not too sure, but I think she likes it. Hard to tell!!!!! WOW, sounds amazing. Nice little piece you play there, very nice. I was seriously considering a new Yanaha, might have to reconsider!!!! It really sounds and looks great in all the colors!!!! Gonna have to see them in persaon at the shop. What kind of strings did it come with?
Thank you so much Michael, I’m really glad you like it :) I use D’addario 95-40s , sometimes Ernie Ball or Rotosound as well (and sometimes 100/105s depending on how downtuned the bass needs to be)
@@CiciVonStrangelove well it’s deserved. I always say you get out what you put in and the work you’ve put the work in shows , that’s why I continue to watch.
Thank you for this great video. I think I will buy this although they are out of stock for 15 weeks on Thommann. No stores stock this where i am. Is this a heavy bass ? Edit: I see the answer now. It's not weighty. How is the neck for people with smaller hands ?
Your creativity is above anything I could imagine about bass as instrumental posibilities. Ambient music is my preferred style for a decade, but never heard ambient music played on a bass guitar. Oh my God, you are so impressive. Like Bruno Sanfilippo's Cromo or Ambessence piano & drones. Mesmerizing. Keep on playing in this meditative relaxing style. I wish you having records. I'd be your first buyer.
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words, it really does mean the world to hear that. I’m so glad you enjoyed it :) I’ve been planning to upload some of these jams to Bandcamp, so I could do the same with this one if you like (no charge) :)
@@CiciVonStrangelove Please do it. I suppose that I am not the only one who would like to start a rainy day with a coffee while listening your music and planning his day to come. This is my early morning ritual in my office. I love cloudy dark mornings in a warm place while listening music and enjoying life.
That whole piece with the volume pedal was killer. When i was a kid I watched Metallica with Cliff on bass do something like that, but with a dump truck full of distortion also. I think I prefer yours these days. Cool stuff neat demo.
You've convinced me that the green one is the way to go I think 😁 I was gonna go tobacco but I really like this color, in the photo it doesn't look as good but I like this. 👌🏼😄
Hey Cici...I just love your excitement about this bass. Fun to see a musician so enamored with a P bass. Think I first say on an Andertons video. Did I? What is it about the bass that makes us want to own many? I've just converted from mandolin to bass. Was in a shop and they had a 2003 Fender P bass and I played it it spoke deeply to me. Went back the next day to trade a Squire 70s Vibe Jazz and an my first beat-up mandolin. Square trade tit for tat even-steven. Loving the simplicity and feel and neck and sound of it. I understand your zeal and elan for the P bass. You sound real real good groovin' on it.
Really good review. All your points are high value. The pickup thing maybe harmonics. Warm generally is the human way of hearing and describing it. For P it's a great quality to have.
You are a phenomenal bassist. I appreciate the information and playing you presented in this video. It helps to make a hard decision, a little easier. Thank you.
About the "roasted maple" neck. I've read reviews where people say they think the neck is actually might be dyed to look roasted?! I'm wondering if thats true? Dying the neck would be cheaper. Maybe other brands are doing that??? (Sterling by Music Man). Anyone know???
They both do totally different things, and I love them both equally for different reasons. But if I had to pick one, I’d go with the Schecter as it’s a bit more diverse tonally, and that bass just feels like “me” in a bass guitar (alongside the Ibanez Soundgear SR700) :)
@@CiciVonStrangelove I fell in love with the P-Bass back in 1973 while watching The Midnight Special when an all female band called Fanny came on. The gal playing bass, Jean Millington, not only blew my mind but stole my heart.
