Thanks for this video. I’m ordering a blue left handed which will take 6-8 months. Posted your video to my salesman at Sweetwater. Thanks, you covered it all.
Thank you for this video! It really helped me to finally make up my mind and buy this guitar, which I've had for 1 week now. As is often mentioned in exchanges about this model, don't expect to get a super telecaster (or a telecaster at all, for that matter), but it's still very versatile for my taste, with plenty of clarity on the 2 singles coils positions and warmer tones on the humbuckers. And an incredible quality finish for this price range!
I ordered a T7 earlier this week (demo model knocked off about $65!) and it’s supposed to be here today! This will be my first venture into electrics and I’m beyond excited.
Is that how a flame top T7 looks like !? That is a beautiful guitar! For me, its not the one which calls a Telecaster, but still really a beautiful guitar! And it sound lovely to me.... I want to have it!
I can attest to Sweetwater’s inventory and customer care. They put all their new inventory that is within a certain pricepoint through a 55 point inspection which is for all intents an exclusive feature to Sweetwater. They also take photos of the guitar to include the serial number so you can see the number of the guitar you are purchasing. The intonation is checked, the electronics are checked for proper function, it is tuned to pitch, and polished before being repackaged for storage. The tour I took was impressive to say the least. The amount of stringed instruments that are inventoried daily by them was staggering as I was told that they process anywhere between 1000 and 3000 guitars daily during the holiday season alone. If you are in the market for a stringed instrument it is definitely worth the look.
I bought an S7 FM HSS last year, loved it so much I got an L7H. At that point, of course I had to complete the trifecta with a T7H just like yours (I already have two traditional Strats, Teles and Les Pauls so I have that sound covered). They are all great playing, great looking, great feeling guitars with excellent fit and finish. So far I haven't upgraded anything, just haven't felt the need. Sire necks are what sells me on them, they feel fantastic. I thought I would have to dull down the glossy fingerboard but it isn't sticky at all. The back is super fast and smooth. Sire puts really nice veneer tops on their guitars. It's veneer, why shouldn't it be? But what I've seen from Epiphone lately has been pretty weak, you have to get lucky to get nice figuring and contrast like that. Anyway, great review, thanks!
I have the exact same guitar! Also bought one of their S7 Strats at the same time in the same color. I found that the PUPS grow on you. Absolutely killer guitars. Throw some Chorus on those Bad Boys...they get HARMONICALLY THICK! :)
Awesome variety of sounds, seems like an incredibly versatile instrument! Definitely thinking about getting one of these when I have the space (and a lot of spare cash).
Very useful presentation and nice playing Eric, thank you. You talked a little about it but do you think the FM T7 can get close to the vintage single coil pickup Telecaster? (or even the non-FM T7) The FM sounds fairly thin in comparison to the higher output settings. I wonder if boosting the volume helps? Of course , I want the humbucker sounds and all :-)
I probably won’t do that one for awhile…I’m not on the hunt for another Les Paul type guitar right now. If I found a great deal one of the gold top ones maybe, but a review of one isn’t planned currently. Sorry.
Great review. Thank you! If you have time, I would be grateful for a piece of advice: I’m into jazz, and I’m hesitating, do you recommend this Sire T7 over a Fender Telecaster?
Maybe…might be able to get “jazzier” tones out of humbuckers over single coils, but I’ve seen plenty of jazz players play Teles! The Sires are hard to beat for the price…quality is really good for what you pay. Of course you could check out the more conventional Tele-styled Sires that are available if you’d like single coils more.
@@EJBGuitar 10 days later… I ordered and received my Sire L7 and i absolutely love it. It has the warmer tone I ever heard. Thank you again for your piece of advice you helped me to make the choice!
It’s fine. Feels like a current “modern Fender” radius really. I was able to get the action pretty low with no issues. The neck in general is really nice.
