For my Presets visit: johnnathancord... I've decided Sire make the best guitars that I've played in the sub £500 price range (quite easily) and definitely punch way above their weight. Here's my very first time playing the Sire T7 Vintage - which is (obviously) their take on a Telecaster, with a bit more of a modern twist at the neck join.

There’s something about a good Tele that makes it the natural choice for an incredibly wide range of applications. As much as I love your Strat sounds, the opening jam was head and shoulders above…

I have one of those. A very cool guitar with few cons. In my opinion it sounds great for everything except metal. Not a "vintage" tone though. Neck feels amazing, bridge doesn't hurt your hand, staggered locking tuners, rolled fingerboard edges, smooth frets. As for cons, fret bevel is very smooth but quite uh large(?) and strings tend to slip off when doing vibratos and hammer ons etc. Need to play more carefully. Also mine is a bit on the heavier side around 3.8kg/8.4 pounds or so. And mine has a ding and a weird bevel on the headstock and a scratch on the back of the neck but you can't feel it while playing.

Sounds incredible John! Your videos on the Sire's are helping me decide on purchasing one. I do love white on the Strat and Tele. Both sound incredible. They don't seem to choke on pulls up high on the neck. Great sustain as well.

That thing just looks so premium. That neck is beautiful and shiny. It looks a lot more expensive that it is! Too bad i cant get one in New Zealand -_- Its definitely a tele style i'd get!

I just bought all the hardware out of that same tele for only $80. I’m stoked after hearing it hear. I’m going to slap them in a Squire affinity body I like with a Squire 40th Anniversary neck.

After playing for a few minutes I adjusted the action and slightly tweaked the intonation. For 618.00 delivered to your door its a deal. Locking tuners, bone nut, roasted maple neck, really nice set of pickups. It's a deal. I played some teles at the music store 800.00 - 1,200.00. I like mine just as good as those. The sunburst is kickass no flaws.

I just bought a U5 a short scale bass, can't believe how good it is. I'm fully stoked for guitars right now but I kind of regret buying my USA fender strat earlier this year now. If I had to chose now I'd get a Sire S7 and save the £1000 extra I spent.

Thanks Jonathan. Regarding the pickups..... The Andertons website mentions that they are a ... "slightly hotter, overwound quality that produces more output". Does this mean that the neck and bridge pickups are using Alnico 5 rather than Alnico 2 magnets? Playing some isolated clean and crunch tones for each pickup would be appreciated too. Cheers

They always are, but daaaaaamn ughh i cant wait to get me a larry carlton..... im really hoping they might take the vola route, and take their designs, and do a hss/hsh 7 string strat, or a single or hh 7 string tele. Beautiful guitar! I love the roasted maple necks! Gotta get one to add to my Ltd and Dean NashVegasSpecial. I'm just not sure of it will be a Sire, a Godin, fender? Etc?

I'm in awe with these guitars, but the pickguard for the tobacco burst looks hideous!!! I'd REALLY want one in a mint green style pickguard. Anybody know if the pickguards can be swapped without modification? Like, will a Fender Tele pickguard fit it fine?

I have the white one in the video for a year now and always hated the pickguard. I emailed Sire and they only replace broken ones so it would be the same color. I wrapped it in vynil and if you cut the edges clean it looks like it came that way. If you get textured wrap it feels even better.

My friend just let me borrow his Player Series Tele that he just got new and im really loving the Tele vibe, but the Player Series doesn't have me impressed in terms of build quality, or at least his particular one. Definitely want to get a T Style guitar. Not sure if i would get the Player Series, but within my price range, im looking at the Fender Player Series, Sire T7, and the Reverend Pete Anderson Eastsider T. Anyone have any suggestions on which one to get or any better options out there with a budget up to 1,200 max? Looking for new not used as well

@zackpack8 thanka for insight. I ended up buying that Tele to help my friend out with some bills, and man that thing needs so much work done to it which is crazy to me since it was brand new. Fenders MIM QC is not good at all. The frets need a good leveling and considering just selling it for something else, or making it a partscaster/project guitar. Im definitely going to try a Sire soon though. Probably the L7, L7V, H7, or H7V. I already have a S style guitar i like, that Tele, but no LP or 335 type.

How do these compare to the player series from Fender? Has anyone compared the two? I'm always on the lookout for a solid guitar. Meaning a good quality instrument with no or very few quality issues that is properly sez up out of the box and can be adjusted if the need arises.

I've checked out some Vintera series guitars in shops and I've found those feel a bit on the ropey side in the hands, the Sires feel to me a touch more playable etc, but could be bad examples that I've seen of the Vinteras?

Hi John, love your playing and tones in your videos. I'd like to know if you find some microphonic effects in your Sire guitars. I have a T7 and it cannot handle hi-gain or stacked drives tones without a lot of feedback. Except that, I found the guitar is insanely good for the price... Please let me know!

@@kremepye3613 Hi, I'm doing well thanks! I found that the T7 is a great instrument, especially regarding the selling price point. The playability is up to higher-rated instruments, what I found about pickups is that with hi-gain tones, the guitar tends to suffer feedback issues. Probably with a good set of pickups could stand with an American professional Tele!

I find everything about Sire's to e great *except* the pickups. The first batch of models had somewhat underwhelming PU's IMHO (S7, L7). I have a feeling they have corrected this for their 2nd wave (T7, S7 Vintage, etc).

Between Muscians Friends & Sire guitar, The customer service totally stinks. I would love to be enjoying my new guitar but, i have no idea where it is!! And yet they hold my money for it in the form a debit card hold and the bonus is every 10 days they hold twice the amount because a new hold goes on before the old one expires. Horrible!! Neither Sire or Musicians Friends keeps me informed as to what is happening. Both are Terrible, Terrible customer service companies.

The level of roasting on the neck looks a bit excessive, as does the rolled fret ends. I think the guitars would be better if those features were not so extreme. Other than that, the guitars seem quite good.

to me the roasting seems equivalent to the japanese AZ from Ibanez (the premiums are a little lighter roasted I think?)

@@johnnathancordy John, I don't know if this is the case with the Sires (probably not due to the budget) but the reason that the Japanese AZ necks are darker is that they are roasted in a nitrogen atmosphere whereas the the non Japanese are roasted in normal air. The nitrogen means that there is no oxygen and therefore no chance of the neck burning. Meaning they can roast at a higher temperature, hence the darker colour.

Roasted necks are the latest fad, and I wouldn't be surprised if those at lower price points were barely roasted, before being fake-tanned with some wood dye, then clear-coated.

It would have been helpful to hear the guitar played clean and simple on the different pickup settings through a miked up amp rather than just listening to it hidden behind a ton of (quite boring) effects. It’s your channel, though, so I guess it’s up to you. At least the new filters from RU-vid will help stop you popping up in my feed.
