@@AVerySexuallyDeviantOrange It's cheaper for the game's producers if they talk less or say the same thing multiple times. That may have had something to do with it. I still think they did a great job with the game, but I noticed that many voice lines were re-used (at least in the English language version), sometimes even when they don't make much sense in the context in which they are re-used. They were probably trying to save money and/or they made a lot of changes and needed more voice lines after they had finished recording the voice lines.
gotta love how during this mission Count: 1. accidentally starts a chicken roleplay with wiseman 2. pisses off Huxian and cringes at running from Mihaly 3. talks to Long Caster about sandwiches and burgers I'd call that a very productive mission
As much as I like Strider squadron, I kinda missed the whole "being a convict" spin. Really put a spin on how we're always a worshipped hero in every AC game.
The story would be cooler if we started in Spare squadron from the get go and never left it, tbh. We still get hailed as a hero at the end, but we start out being hated by everyone else. Like maybe the point in which people start looking at us positively is when we fight off Mihaly and his crew singlehandedly.

Once I was in Strider Squadron, it felt like you were "home". The missions structure, the soundtrack felt very "classic" for Ace Combat. Also its the first time you actually have a cool AWACS-Guy. Ill buy Longcaster food any day^^
Oh yeah he is totally cool^^ I love his voice^^ Sky Eye was great because he seemed so "interactive" like how he commentated the exact location you were heading. Absolutely professional and he would also not be out of place as a spokesperson for a commercial^^ Many people say Eagle Eye is generic, but I really really love Eagle Eyes voice. He seems a bit colder, which is absolutely fitting for Zero because of its atmosphere. I read how somebody described the "Inferno"-Mission as a "Ace Combat creepypasta" because its so out of place that you partake in the bombing of civilians.
Awwww yeah ^^ Jill is surely sweet ^^ Sorry if I dont understand but was Hamilton really fat? Or do you mean Perrault ? ^^ But I like your idea of a fat guy sitting inside an AWACS^^ I personally thought that Long Caster is more like those guys who burn calories really quick. Like those kind of people who can eat anything without getting fat^^ I imagine that he is like a guy who really puts a lot of energy in his mental capabilities and is therefore allways hungry^^
Even though your going into battle, this track makes it feel like everything will be alright. Like You and your squad are completely on another level from the enemy and they can't touch you.
0:13 - 0:50 uses the main motif of "Daredevil". while 2:05 - 3:00 uses the main motif of "Sol Squadron/ Archange". Just in case nobody noticed. Edit: I just realized most of the sountrack uses those two songs a ton. "Sol Squadron" may as well be the second main theme.
It's actually rather smart. You can hear dialogues from the enemy about how they're requesting back-up from Sol Squadron, so by adding this leitmotif into the song, the player is put on their toes and on high alert because they're anticipating their possible arrival
I always head towards the fleet of ships first thing, flying top speed just metres above the water, by the time the guitar riff hits at 00:50 their ships are already in range of my railgun. It’s a beautiful and powerful feeling
I unlocked the wyvern and railgun on my second playthrough right when this mission started. the guitar riff started as soon as my first blast slammed into the carrier and I soared a mere few feet above it
Keiki Kobayashi made a very impressive leap of faith going into the Ace Combat series. While the series is now renowned for its musical scores, Air Combat and Ace Combat's 2 & 3 were following a popular trend among popular media related to aerial combat that emphasized fast, exciting pacing and frequently incorporated either electronic (A sci-fi trend that was a hold over from the older days that still thrived in games even though Movies and Televion musical trends in the Sci-Fi genre had long since shifted back to orchestral) or Rock & Roll (I'm like... 99% sure this is Top Gun's fault). Keiki Kobayashi's direction in 04 pushed it very solidly towards orchestral arrangements (Though they definitely maintain their fair share of electronic and rock elements in some songs), including haunting choirs, and is not afraid to use a slow song in the midst of an epic battle in order to compliment the context behind the mission, even if it has to stray away from overtly militaristic beats in order to do so. Looking at you "Sea of Chaos". While he often recycles a melody across several songs in a single soundtrack, he does so in a way that makes them distinct from one another and a perfect fit for whatever mission it is that they get put into which may contrast quite sharply from other uses of that same melody. Essentially, he gave the John Williams treatment to the music trends of the Aerial Combat genre.
Kobiyashi IMO is up there with other epic artists like Two Steps from Hell/Thomas Bergersen, Audiomachine, Ivan Torrent, etc. I cannot find any piece made by him that I dislike.
As Trigger approached the target area, he looked out the side of his aircraft's canopy. His Strider wingman were flying in formation alongside him, not one of them wavering. This made him smile as strange feelings overcame him. Then he frowned as he thought about what it was. It wasn't like the feeling of being apart of Spare, having to fly with a bunch of misfits while constantly being threatened with solitary at even the slightest misdemeanor. No, this was something else. He recalled his days when he was in Mage Squadron, flying as one group, protecting one another as they completed their mission. Then he recalled hearing a little line from a retired aircraft mechanic after the end of the last great war. "There's nothing like flying in perfect formation with your comrades." Trigger smiled once again as he realized what the feelings were. His smile widened as he heard Long Caster make a remark about his judgement being fuzzy if he's hungry. This was a feeling of pride. A feeling of joy. A feeling of safety and security as you know you have allies that will keep you alive. There was no other feeling like it.
As I say The choir The guitar riff. It’s the sound of freedom. Being able to spread your wings out once again after being confined for a crime you didn’t do.
This is missile destroyer Gumrak of the Glorious Yuktobanian Navy. We cannot upvote a youtube comment that is willing to ignore our own ships. We will protect "Sea of Chaos." All commentors that are with us, change course and upvote us!
@@raptor_zero9429 *Challenger approaching! A new foe has appeared!* **distant Alect Squadron/Armada theme** *ACX Armada would like to* **know your location**
I dont know if it's the soundtrack, the mission objective itself, or something else but i always find myself coming back to this mission when im really bored and have nothing to do.
This mission makes you feel like the Razgriz itself. A demon in the north sea, raining death and destruction on all those unfortunate enough to be in your path.
“I heard you’re spectacular, captain. At least with your last squadron.” *Starts writing letter to the game developers about why we cant shoot our own allies*
When I started this mission, I was looking at the platforms bristling with AA, with ships with significant AA capabilities, and looked at my special weapons load out... the EML looked to be of limited use, and I pondered going over to the ships to unload them before coming back to the platforms after a resupply with missiles with significant AoE. Then some pilot mentioned aiming for the cores. Took me less than two minutes to level absolutely everything in that sector of the map.
Sokolniki my jaw dropped when that was revealed. On harderer difficulties you have to get close to get missles on target or the CIWS will be all over it. Perfect skill shot opportunity to clear away the platforms, so satisfying. Plus long casters line -> “meat between those buns and that burger is well done.... I’d be happy to eat both “ :)
That choir That guitar rift.... It’s the sound of freedom. After being locked behind bars for a crime you were wrongfully convicted of, you are now able to spread your wings once again.
This game definitely needed more of the huge battles like this mission, Long Day or Battle for Farbanti that give you a lot of freedom in how to tackle the mission.
I’m seeing a lot of “EML!” Comments and other fancy special weapons.. meanwhile I was over here on my first run with a MIG-21 BIS and machine gun pods flying through a sea fort guns blazing like a maniac
Such a great song to have as the first mission after you've finally gotten your name cleared or at least your crimes pardoned and are back to flying with a regular unit. Although I did prefer the informal attitude of the 444 a lot more, the constant banter between everyone and Bandong was really great. I wish we had more of that and while the LRSSG does have some of that it's still more of a "mission focused" "get the job done" attitude but now it's spoken by people who are veterans and confident enough that they can crack a joke once in a while (especially Wiseman) unlike the IUN who did feel like regular people in over their head just trying to do do the job (which is weird since Clown is our first wingmen).
Here's my ameture (over)anaylsis of this song 0:00 Sounds similar to the IUN breifing/debreifing 0:13 the motif used in Daredevil, Faceless Soldier, Charge Assault, etc; it acts sort of as the overall "theme" for the game. 0:50 the electric guitar sort of acts as a representation of triggger throughout the soundtrack, especially prominent in this song and Sol Squadron 1:16 the acoustic guitar acts as sort of a representation of Sol Squadron and Mihaly as heard in Faceless Soldier and Sol Squadron. 1:43 strings similar to Yinshi Valley 2:06 the same motif used in the brass portion of Sol Squadron and Archange Also notice how the backing percussion is similar to the percussion in "Space Elevator" a song which I personally associate with Z.O.E. The electronic-sounding beat is in the background the whole time, similar to how Z.O.E was a part of the game from the very beginning. This track tells you the game's entire story without words.
I used to hate this mission with a burning passion… but after getting better at the game this one is now an all time favorite. The music, the banter between Strider Squadron and Long Caster, Long Caster himself, everything.
I can honestly fanboy so hard over Mission 11. Not only because of the quality of the music. But because of how the story connects with it. For months you've been trapped in a penal squadron. Shackled and the only time you were allowed to fly was when your higher ups wanted you to fight certain death with the odds against you. Countless times to try and push you into the darkness hoping you succumb to hopelessness. But for the first time in a long long time you are not helpless in this mission. _They_ are; the enemy's reckoning has arrived. The enemy laughed at you. The enemy attacked you thinking you were weak. They tried to kill you, and when they couldn't do that, they tried to break you down into pieces by making the very country that you fight for for hate you. Later on you even find out they framed you for the crime that put you in that squadron in the first place. But you survived. You came out of the smoke to rise above the fire they tried to burn you in, like a phoenix rising from the flames. Sharper and wiser through the trauma. In this mission you are allowed to send them to a painful death, sweet and fitting for the crimes against you. They will meet their fate drowning in the icy waters of Snider's Top, as you are finally among real friends and allowed to take your revenge.
One of my favorite tracks and so underrated. Combines all the aspects of AC7 together down to the main theme, the bad guys, the industrial and techno sounds, the beautiful bass guitar, ooh so good
This is the logical explanation from music that i could have expected. Tying this games music and Ace Combat 3's music together. A beautiful continuation!
Finally finished this mission on the fifth try by lining up EML shots on the platforms, since the guided weapons I was trying didn't feel consistent even when it looked like I had a clear shot. It was a huge pain but felt pretty badass.
Long Caster: Well done. That takes care of both of the platforms. But best of all, we've taken zero losses. Stay alive people. Which is why I've taken the liberty of ordering dinner for you guys from the nice Italian bistro near the base. Trigger: Eh, I'm more into Japanese food but I'll take what I can get.
Was half expecting an Erusian Officer to be yelling, "NOT AGAIN! NOT AGAIN!" as If he's reliving Comberth Harbor... Fun fact, first DLC mission soon. Involves a survivor of Comberth Harbor pressed back into war cuz of this mission.
I have come to associate the different parts of the song with different mission experiences. The choir at the start is just the anticipation, the first guitar segment I always associate with coming up to the sea platform and getting shot at by CIWS, and the section afterwards with trying to line up EML shots on the cores.
This easily my favorite of the music on the AC7 soundtrack, even when taking Nameless Soldier, Dual Wielder, Charge Assault, and Archange into consideration.
AND NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THAT PLANT THING IN THE BACK OF THE MAP? Deleting that plant thingy with rockets was so amazing! You SINK an aircraft carrier in that mission and have so much stuff to blow up! Amazing piece of music and my fav mission so far.
The Game reminds you to eat a Sandwich halfway through it, then tells you to order Pizza Delivery a few missions before it ends. Best $60 I ever spent.
*sneezes* Bandog: So you have chosen... solitary. Long Caster: Strider 1, you’ve sneezed. Would you like a day off, make sure you aren’t sick? We don’t want to over work you. Im sure the rest of the squad would understand.
This was a great piece to time maneuverers to. As soon as the mission start 45 degree climb, full speed, slight turn to the left. As soon as the guitar kicks in dive hard and rain SP weapon based hell down on the platforms and ships in the inlet.
