I know my reply is 2 years after the fact but for the latecomers, like myself, this may be informative. Instead of adding all the ingredients to the bottle then mixing inside use a 1 quart Ziploc bag. Add everything into that... zip it up and you can then mix everything inside the bag by massaging, squeezing, kneading until all is combined to your satisfaction. Then all you do is cut a bottom corner of the bag, just big enough to squeeze the ingredients out. Tuck the corner into the bottleneck and slowly squeeze out the contents, filling the bottle. Then finish as described.
Terry Myers yep, if you watch my newer videos I mix it in a cup and then use a disposable piping bag or ziploc bag to get the contents in. 👍thanks for watching!
I do hope you still get notifications on these videos since they are almost two years old. I wanted you to know your videos are still helping people! My girls are in love with Harry Potter and potions and just getting old enough for these types of crafts. I have watched all your potion videos and saved them to a crafts playlist so I can gather all the ingredients and watch as we do the potions! You really did these amazing and gave us a whole collection! I do hope you decide to maybe do another current line so we have more to follow!
Kristi Phillips I’m so glad you and your girls can make these together! 😊 There are some new potions coming, flesh eating slug repellent will hopefully be up later this week. Have fun creating, and thanks for watching! 💙
just found your chanel hours ago and im seriously binge watching your videos and im having a mental break down because i want to do them all! looking forward to more crafts that are so easy to follow and so beautiful! lots of love!n
Oh my GAWD! All this time I've been using resin for my watery based crafts and I could have been using GEL?!?! My wallet will thank you from here on out.
Great idea! Just wanted to add that glass pebbles from dollar tree have an iridescence that adds a lovely touch and are easier to get than silica. Also if you'll twist the cork it goes in easier. 😉 Happy Crafting!
Im looking for something to give my bestfriend because her bday is getting nearer and she loves cool things and i will probably make this cool things for my best friend
i do not have any hair jell so do you think i could just use water and it would be fine? because i have all the other things except the jell and i love your idea
The hair gel is what suspends the glitter, beads, etc. with water it would just drop to the bottom. If you can’t get the thick hair gel, you might be able to use a thick hand sanitizer in its place. I hope that helps thanks for watching! 💜
@@CookingandCraftChick yes it did i ended up using some think clear hand soap which worked great i made a mermaid tears potion and put a label string and i small sea shell on it
+crystalheart9 thank you 😊 and thanks for watching! (Btw I saw your previous post and yes I use dollar store gel in all of my potions! Good potion bottles don't need to be expensive 😄)
Yes, I should have left that on! Just yesterday I was in the dollar store and saw a huge bottle of hair gel and thought it would be great if it could be used in the potion bottles:D Thanks for the great tutorials. I just subed and am going through your tutorials:)
Fiery Dragon Gamer it will however it won’t have the same suspension quality you get with the gel so the glitter and beads may not stay suspended; they might all settle. Also I wouldn’t add the Silva beads to the hand sanitizer. I hope that helps; thanks for watching! 🧜♀️
Perhaps I am an idiot but I am unable to locate the link to the labels for these on your website. I can find others, but unfortunately not these or others I was planning on making. Thank you so much for these beautiful creations, they're lovely and will perfect on my desk at work. I work in a Pharmacy so I find it rather humorous. :D
umpteenthusername these are on a bulk page here: cookingandcraftchi.wixsite.com/mysite/single-post/2017/01/26/Potion-Label-Sheet I hope that helps, I’m sure your desk will be adorable!!
Can you send the potion bottles thru the USPS when you are using the styling gel and if so are there any restrictions? I would like to make the potion bottles for friends and then send them thru the mail and that is what prompts my question regarding what is and is not permissible.
I’ve never had any issues shipping them. I just seal them and package them so nothing can break. I place everything in a sealed bag inside the box just in case.
@@CookingandCraftChick thanks for the quick reply. I think that I am going to stick with distilled water and glycerin since I know or at least is my understanding that sending distilled alcohol is a different matter when shipping.
+Adem Salah Ben Khalifa absolutely! You can either get a bottle that is red and make everything the same as I did (which is what I did for the teal) or add a few drops of red food coloring. (If you go the food coloring route you will want to not add the silica beads, they will absorb the color so just add some clear beads to get a similar look). Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
So a lot of people say they have a mermaid themed room and they'll use this but if you were a mermaid why tf would you have mermaid tears in your room lol
+Alice Burgess yes! Depending on how small of a bottle you may want to omit the silica beads. In a small bottle they may absorb too much liquid. Just use clear beads instead. 👍 thanks for watching!
Can you give a tutorial on making stickers of our own? Like what software do you use.. what printer.. best quality sticker paper etc. Thanks! Love all of your stuff!
I make all of my potion label designs in Photoshop. I print my labels on either my Epsom Ecotank printer (you need to tweak with the settings to get the best print quality) or an HP Printer I have had for over 10 years. My favorite sticker paper is the Avery full 8.5”x11” sticker paper. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching! 😊💜
Seiaeka no they stay suspended, at least with the gel I use from the dollar store. You want the "sport hold" or "strong hold" the thicker the gel the better. If it's a thin gel then yes it will sink. This is the reason I use gel in several of my potions is because of the suspension quality; I hope this helps! 😄 thanks for watching!
That's actually really good to hear. I've been making mini bottles for a few years, but only dry or with resin. To be honest, I don't do much anymore because I have 3 cats and I don't want them to get sick from the resin fumes. Also, student fees leave me too broke to get resin. DS Gel would be a great affordable alternative. I'll try picking some up next time I'm in that area. :3 It would be nice to have the props done for my Sendrask party in Oct.
Oh my god it's so beautiful you are amazing. Your creativity is awesome . I love your videos and I haven't watched a lot of them my brother is the one who watches more of your videos I just started watching them today but I absolutely love how you did the siren tears it looks so beautiful and the mermaid wish does to
ZEKE TITUS you could use hand sanitizer or clear glue; but you may not get the same suspension quality you get with the gel. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
For 98% of the potion bottles the Gel is the best option, it is by far the best at keeping the items suspended. Clear glue will either not dry or doesn't dry completely due to being in an airtight container and suspended items will fall to the bottom. I hope that helps, thanks for watching!
