I found spray paint did not stick to the plastic so I highly recommend sanding and priming first! I wasted a ton of paint trying it the first time. Also, they blew over in the wind too so I'm adding a metal balloon column and drill holes where I want them to go. It was just too light and fell over constantly.
@@kamsamnedah hmmm that’s weird my spray paint has been fine. But it’s rated for plastic, metal, wood etc. 🤷♀️ I weighted mine down with bricks in each cauldron but the balloon pole is a great idea 😊
@@xoshelbycatherineox I recommend you check out my tips and tricks video where I answer all kinds of questions about potions. But, yes you can also use distilled water and either a tiny bit of alcohol or glycerin. As long as your potions are in a room that is not too hot or too sunny and you’ve used the correct type of cork, etc.. Your potion should last for years and years. 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_blpHmSHt1c.html
Could you/ have you made the water of life from Dune part 2? I’d love to make one for a friend but I’m not sure how to go about making the bottle for a friend.
I know this is an old video, and you likely know this by now, but you have the camera on the wrong side of the project. It is much easier to film when you are facing the project and the camera.
Would adding baby powder to the strands help keep them from clumping quite so much? You would still get the effect of the "silk" but I would think it would be a little more loose?
You are truly a master at your craft. The potion is a beauty, it just captures the eye. Love it! One small question… do you use the distilled water because you make a lot of potions? Can I just use alcohol? I make a few here and there and was wondering if that’s ok or does it affect the look? Thank you for your tutorials.
I’m not sure why it’s not mixing, you might mix a tiny bit of distilled water with the paint first then add it to your alcohol. Is your metallic acrylic paint water based?
Why the distilled water? Does minerals & such in water affect it a certain way? Completely new here & know nothing about these things :) greetings from Sweden
Distilled water is ideal for when purity is important. Things can grow in straight tap water etc over time. The distilled water helps keep it “pure”. Checkout my tips and tricks video where I go over why I use what I use. 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_blpHmSHt1c.html
@@CookingandCraftChick at first I thought it was just boiled water but read it dosnt get rid of everything like minerals, didnt know it still wasnt "pure" fully so to say. Thank you for letting me know :)
Wow that is a gorgeous potion. I love the glow first off it just looks like it has a beautiful magical glow. The colors are my favorite color combo of like a blue teal aqua ish color mixed with the purple is just perfect. Then the purple shimmer of the mica powder is like the sparkle of jewels. The chain with the crystals and butterfly is just perfect. Very beautiful. Thank you for doing a fairy potion love your creativity. Great job. 😀❤️
So how do you get your power bank to stay on? Made this exact thing hooked up to my power bank but it shuts off unless i keep turning turning it back on
My power bank will run until it has no power left only when it’s running. It doesn’t shut off per se it’s just in sleep mode until I use it. if you’re wanting to run it for hours on end hook it up to a cord to a plug in.
@@melissahulon1907 mine is just a cheapy one, I think I got it from hot topic www.hottopic.com/product/harry-potter-chibi-character-collage-rechargeable-power-bank/11445174.html
I've been watching these and am fascinated by them. I've been having issues with my mica powder not color shifting my potions though. Is that just a volume problem or is it quality of the powder? And is there an easy way to see if a powder has pigment that messes up the food dyed color?
Put your mica in a smaller test container with just water or alcohol shake it up and let it settle once it settles if the water still clear there’s no pigment in it, if it’s colored, it has pigment. If it has pigment, it will affect your color shift drastically. Some colors will shift more than others, which is why I test my color combinations in small vials before hand. You may also need to put a tiny bit more powder in to get a full shift.
My mica powder lays on top and bottom of the water, is it the wrong type or is that just what happens with it?🤔 it works differently with my acrylic paint with glitter in it where it just eventually goes on the bottom🤷♀️
@@thefallenangelx329 there are some glycerin’s that because it’s a vegetable base can sometimes make some mica float a little bit. If rubbing alcohol is available to you, you can also do distilled water with a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol, and that should solve that.
Hello, you were asking for any potion or potion ingredients ideas. I was rewatching The Fantastic Beast movies. I don't think you have these already. I thought of a couple. I'm not sure how you spell it but I think it is Murlap? Venom the one that bites Jacob on the neck I don't think you have that? The other was Kelpie eggs? Or Baby Niffler formula?? What do you think about these ideas? 🧡
I received my mica powder set and tools today but not sure which beads to order as you provided 2 links but the second one won't ship to Australia so I'm hoping the first one is the better obsess although I chose that and only got a 10g sample pack for some reason
Could you possibly tell me how long the mica powder lasts in the bottles before solidifying to the bottom and/or not giving a good swirl effect? I didn't know if these potions have a shelf life before I got too invested. Thank you! This tutorial was excellent!
I have potions that are 3-5 years old that still shake up just fine. The first shake up after it’s been settled for a while takes a couple extra shakes to get it remixed in for swirling but then it’s good.
This oil vs water gives me an idea for the potions I'm trying to create these days. I'm going to try to find some new tricks thanks to this. Did you ever try mica powder in such a oil/water combo? Does it do something interesting?
Wow, this one is nice and original ! I'd probably stick the main label onto the seal label as I used to see for instance on the honey and jam pots I used to buy... Anyway, inspiring as always !
Love this one! But how come youd water beads are white!? There are many products that are totally transparent or color mixed (im my country), needed to pay attention but I finally found the same reference. Oh, and I found some that glow in the dark, I'm gonna find a special potion for these. 😆
First off, your channel is super cool. I’m actually looking at trying to make a gift for a friend right now and that’s how I found you. I actually would love to know what program you use for creating your labels. I would need a custom label to start with. So if I could have some pointers in what program to use for creating them, I would be super appreciative. Thank you for your super informative tips, you’ve earned yourself a subscriber!
If you need a custom label made I might be able to do that for you, pretty reasonably. If you would want that you can email me and go from there. 😊Cookingandcraftchick@gmail.com
