Pretty sweet little lens. Just used it to shoot a short film along with the 50mm on the XT4 and was really happy with the way it turned out. Used plenty of diffusion which helped as they are fairly sharp. Thanks for the video.
Hello, I was looking for the 24mm anamorphic lens. It was so helpful video. I have a question about @06:35. If I have sirui anamorphic 24mm for MFT mount, I can't not use it on E mount even if I get a E mount adapter? or with this adapter from sirui, I can use it on E mount?
"Sooray"?! LOL... Si-Ru-Ih. But yes, there are ppl who use EF-M, I do. I have other cameras/mounts but right now shoot by far most with an EOS-M for a number of reasons, size being one but a combination with weight and how people react are important too.
Good day. Please tell me how I can connect my sirui anamorphic 24mm 2.8 MFT to the Red Komodo camera or to the BlackMagik 6K? The first camera has a Canon RF mount, and the second has a Canon EF mount
Thank you! If you are going for that anamorphic look and if this is your first anamorphic lens, 35mm is the way to go in my opinion. 24mm is a good supplemental lens to the existing 35 or 50. Yes I am DC based. :)
@@SePark So am I (Cathedral Heights N.W.)... I have the Sony A7siii and have worked with a D.P. who is all about the anamorphic lenses. 35mm, here I come. I just came across your channel and appreciate the breakdown, very solid. keep up the great work!
@@sly17171 small world! Thanks so much! We need more filmmakers around the DMV and more anamorphic lens flares. 😁 Excited for your new lens that's coming! If you have Instagram or Clubhouse, feel free follow (@iam_separk). I always enjoy networking and encouraging local peers. Cheers!
Getting good??? This guy has always amazed me 🤣🤣🤣 he is so good at editing. Can make crappy shots like mine look epic!! Throw back to an airport challenge video...just watch!
Space in the anamorphic aspect ratio is the essence! All that fixation about oval background bokeh and blue horizontal flairs, is a product of the "Star Bores" generation, weaned on CGI and SFX. Imagine classical Cinemascope Westerns and true narrative films being fixated by those artifacts! They would have been considered as the aberrations which they are, and would have been painstakingly eliminated!
Great video Se! I ordered one too, but one thing I read was the squeeze factor changes depending on when your focusing on something close vs something far. Not sure if you noticed something similar but love the look nonetheless!
Nice dude! Yeh I could see that. When I look at it, seems like the bokeh is little more oval in the Capitol shot than the Christmas tree. I just wanna be more like JJ Abrams. LOL. Thanks for watching man!
Hi Se, great review :) I am waiting for my order to arrive. I asked Sirui US and they said it is possible to purchase the adaptor ring (that fits the 35mm) to apply onto the 24mm. I have some spares adaptors from the 35mm campaign. I will see if that works for me.
We need an update to keep our clear image zoom settings! I hate having to zoom in every time I turn on my camera 😭 guess I'll suffer until the full frame anamorphics come
Hey man! Love this video and stoked about this lens and the possibilities for anamorphic on a budget. I'm a professional fpv drone operator and content Creator. Would you mind putting me in touch with them to see about getting one of these on a fpv drone for some epic stuff. Liked and subbed. ;-)
Hey Paul, thanks man! This lens on a FPV drone is so epic. A creator buddy of mine named Jake Sloan flew with this lens and wow! Haha, I don't have that kind of hookup with Sirui.... yet. I wasn't able to connect my close friends with them. I mostly talk to them through their Instagram DM with different people. Try reaching out to them on IG. You may be able to better explain your niche and value up front. You have an awesome channel!
Haha thanks Mike! I got my lens from Thanos. JK, LOL. RU-vid is an awesome place. People and brands find you and sometimes that leads to a cool lens appearing at your door step.
I don't have that exact setup, but when I had the A7 III with the 16-35mm G Master, it really hit the back motor. Since this lens is heavier at the front, I would say pretty good chance it will hit it.
Great video, but these lenses are useless. You get zero anamorphic look to them. You might as well use a fake anamorphic oval iris in a regular lens. The flares are nice but you can achieve that with filtration or in post. Not worth the money.
Hey Will! Thanks. 24 mm is more of a supplement to the 35mm, and the 35 mm is a supplement to the 50 mm which get the most anamorphic look out of all of them. I do get 1.33 is just not enough to get that proper oval bokeh. They are working on a full frame anamorphic lens. Hopefully they are taking notes.
