My favorite military Shrink, this lady Major Mkush, really did some good good thing on me, my 12 year Somali battle field was secured with her professionalism
Kuria, I was telling my wife that this guy looks very very familiar. Kumbe tulikuwa na yeye shule moja, nyhs 😐. Maybe angekuwa CT wangu jili nilikuwa nyuma yenyu zaidi
@@victormacharia153 sure. Am very good with faces. Kumuona tu hivi. I was double sure this was my form one back in NYHS. It is sad narration yet inspiring. Hope he finds a way out.
What a great show we had, you always pick the best concerning a particular topic. Can NTV do away with 7pm news on Friday so that we can have the show uninterupted. I believe it touches more people than the news does.
My Dad was a Major in the D.O.D.. we grew up knowing what order was.. but I thank God he was a loving father. Though he had a big house in the barracks we lived in shaggy and he came home daily .I think it played a big role in giving us a normal life even if we attended the best private school..it should be balanced and Government should support this families
Whoever is responsible for allocating time for programs, whether it may be Madam Monicah, the head of broadcasting, this show is just now top notch it deserves 45 minutes to an hour🙏
Njoroge was my neighbor...used to be addicted so much to alcohol. He was dismissed from the military. I used to look for him everyday and take him to the house after blacking out. He suffered serious PTSD. Glad to see he is okay.
Akufeeee tu akufeee kabisaa how many people are looking for such chances atumiee drugs akufeeee hatumtaki we got sober thiefs stealing from government yeye ana kunywa fobeeee akunywee afeee
@@samutykuntathebantu8402 Pengine yeye alienda ma absent mob hadi akawa deserter. As for hizo ma addictions anaweza tibiwa kwa ile newly formed wellness center Langata.
I knew Njoro from UoN back in 2010/ 2011 I could hardly recognize him, he has changed from the confident young man I knew who wanted to be a politician. Oh God where is this generation going 😭😭. Dr. Kingori I think it is time we talk about short cut to life and I feel military and police is a major scam. I am still happy he has kept the good vibes. It was a good one, except for those of us who knew Njoro before military 😭
Honestly this PSTD is not taken seriously in Kenya especially after this Somali war.My neighbor refused to back to army after Operation in Somali 2012-2014 currently he has sold almost every thing due alcohol and separated from wife.
I wish we could find a way to accommodate the retired officers, the sick and those sacked to the community. I noticed it's a global situation and these guys through hell the training affect them later, what they go through wars and PTSD now majorly affect them. They should be provided counseling also
Thank you everyone for watching, for your support and prayers. Military veterans of our beautiful country deserve to live beyond service and inspite of war wounds.
Since Dr. Kingori is a friend to Lynne Ngugi can he connect you guys with her for an interview? This guy has a story that he needs to tell and also heard.
Thank you very much true North, indeed Maj.Mukuria you've really walked with me plus your team in this journey of recovery since the time i was injured while serving, and then discharged from the service, until now when I'm trying to cope with the life in the civilian world.More grace madam na Mungu awabariki sana.
@@Gi2mbe We love and treasure you dear Gitumbe. Mary, Mukuria and the entire team are so proud of you for how you have fought for your life by engaging with the healing program. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.
That guy is in alot of pain and its only God and time that can heal him..we tend to envy these forces officers and yet they go through so much bana.....waaah
This is one of the most informative episodes. I salute the lady - she has gone through a lot with the husband. She is very sharp and a good narrator. Kudos to our soldier men, you go through much to protect us; Mungu awalinde.
This is amazing,is strange how as people refuse to provide support to veterans or any other human beings suffering from psychological difficulties in daily life. Counseling support should be part of primary health care in Kenya.
Very nice show. It talks about things that affect this country directly. I have always wanted to join the service however with such talks I think it helps me understand what the military is
Soldiers are humans too- They are our uncles, our aunts, our daughters, our sons, our mothers and our fathers- For the service men and women like Njoroge out there this maybe an eye-opening in a nation that's still extending it's dimensions and developing in many sectors, but believe me- we will live to tell their stories differently and brightly, with tears of joy and memories of appreciation- We shall get there as a nation.
No despising but those who experience PSTDs are in the wrong place. Myself I've seen dead bodies since day 1 in medical school. Thereafter I've seen so many people succumb to various illnesses under my eyes. This has never bothered me to the extent of dreaming with such happenings. Actually I hardly used gloves for my dissections while at the medical school. Only cry babies or those who paid 400k to join KDF suffer from such.
@@mgtvnews6890 so ptsd knows who paid 400k? As a medical person you lack awareness about ptsd. I disgust you try research or simple google search. Ptsd is not everyone’s. Some suffer, some don’t. If you don’t good for you but be empathetic to those who suffer such or learn to just not comment on things you have no idea.
This is the issue that needs to be addressed.I always feel people who sit in parliament should have the poor pay while those risking their life's should have the best pay and medical care.
Wilson, True North begun the legislative process to compel parliament to enact a military veterans' Law. Our petition was read on the floor of the Senate House on August 1st 2019. Watch how the process has unfolded on our RU-vid channel under the military veterans' Law playlist.
With God,all things are possible indeed.I couldn't imagine with all those wounds one has,he or she could make someone laugh.....Infact Maj. Mukuria you are doing a great job.I never knew hata mimi ningewahi cheka after going hell on earth while in millitary...... Finally i can make jokes with people, socialize and even give hope to someone through evangelism. For really, our God is great and a God of a second chance!!!!Thank you Dr.King'ori....Wapi mchanganyiko wa DJ mfalmeeeeeee!!!! Hahahaaaaa
😆 🤣 😂 😆 Gitumbe you are amazing. We thank God for your life and your healing. We are proud of the work you are doing to advance human connections. God bless you 🙏🏿
He really needs help for real. The government should look into this asap. We have our brothers and sisters still wanting to join army, what kind of life will they live if the veterans are suffering already
My neighbour is a soldier,i think he suffers from PTDS ju yy hukuja late night anaanza ku scream akivunja anything near him, inabidigi tunakaa far away from him ade a cool down...I think the experiences from war zinamhunt mentally na kumdrown into total depression
Kenya is a cruel country. You take a poor but bright boy from University, give him some training and ship him to war in Somalia. When he comes back and needs the country to stand with him for what he has gone through, you dismiss him from the job.
My love for the military wasn't going to let me miss this episode. Very insightful; however rtd maj mukuria doesn't mention that the military has wellness centers that give these mental health services to the soldiers who need them. I think it's important to acknowledge the efforts it's putting in.
The show was too short for her to mention perhaps if it was long she definitely would have listed the milestones that have been in regards to mental health
Your uncle was a coward. Kenyan contingent to Sierra Leone fought only a single battle and 12 were captured. There was no real combat there as compared to what is experienced now in Somalia.
@@mgtvnews6890 Why are you invalidating the uncles experiences? Even calling him a coward, surely someone that served the country. Every battle has a risk of loss of life so he still deserves respect. And then we can only type from the comfort of our homes but unless you were present, you will never know what he saw or experienced even in that one battle
@Curtis kato You are right. There is no cure for PTSD. However it gets better when the sufferer begins to engage with our tailor made trauma informed interventions of a bio-psycho-social-economic-spiritual-legal nature. Like all chronic diseases, there is a daily practice to maintain optimum health. I hope you see that there is hope for you as well. You are welcome.
Servant leadership will solve many of our problems. However our civil servants behave like they own us. There exceptions due to personal conviction and adherence and respect for civil service code.
