An exceptional character study of Tony Manero, a young man who works all week just to pay for his Saturday night dancing and partying with his friends. This is the quintessential film of my parents generation but the themes of working a crummy job just to pay for a Saturday night out with friends was also something I experienced during the late 90's. I also rate Saturday Night Fever highly because it captured an era that no longer exists, the disco generation. This was one of my most wanted Siskel & Ebert reviews that turned up recently on RU-vid.
