I believe sissy Spacek is one of the most underrated actresses/performers/artist ever. If you haven't seen her movies in the 70s and 80s you need to check it out.
@@beckyforcier3515 Underrated as in we're not seeing her in very many film or TV roles in recent years. She's well known, but Sissy is one of those actresses who's one of the greats, but we don't see her as often like we see Meryl Streep in films and TV every year.
As a lifelong Loretta fan....When I first saw Coal Miners Daughter...I feel in love with this woman.....What a beautiful,raw ,natural woman,with many talents...Total class.
Scott, Sissy did try to get a Country Music Career going, but for some reason, it just didn't happen. She put out at least one album, & many, if not all cuts from it, can be found here, on RU-vid. Her debut single is here, and it's entitled: "Lonely But Only For You." I thought it was GREAT, and was gonna be a big hit for Sissy at that time. I don't believe it made it to # 1, but I sure thought it was going to!! Can't recall now just how high it did chart. But I agree with everyone here, Sissy's got a GREAT voice!! Got great stage presence too!!
The problem was country music started looking for a new sound in the 80's and Sissy just didn't fit the bill. I believe the fall of country music started with Garth Brooks, it became more country rock. Can't stand what is out there today.

She tried under the name Rainbo but after a song titled John You Went Too Far This Time her sales dropped and her singing career ended. Her cousin Rip Torn used his influence to get her acting jobs.
What a voice she has. Brings tears to my eyes. She could be a country music star as well as a movie star! She is not a classical beauty, still one of the most beautiful Ladies I know. I love her...and have since "Carrie".
Sissy Spacek's and Levon Helm's scenes together in Coal Miner's Daughter were so good they made you sad because he didn't live long enough ( according to the movie) to see her succeed.
When I heard her sing that at the drive-in movie of Coal Miner's Daughter, it sent chills down my spine. I haven't heard many Loretta Lynn songs before that. Great performance by Sissy Spacek!
I loved the Coal Miners Daughter movie . Sissy Spacek was great portraying her. She is a really talented actress and she can really sing. I bet she could make it in country music if she wanted to. Keep up the good work.
Just excellent. I don't remember this one, might have missed it. Best song in the film. Levon was the original Coal Miner. What a loss, thanks for the memories.

Sissy did such a fantastic job as Loretta. I just watched the clip of this song from Coal Miner's Daughter.There is just a slight difference in their accents, but I can hear it. I enjoyed this very much.

Levon Helm was cast after the movie Coal Miner's Daughter was already in production. Loretta's brother, Herman, was standing in until his dad's part was cast.
I'm a fan of Loretta Lynn's, have been ever since I was 7, visiting my grandparents on summer break in 76. Ever night it was electric guitars, Schlitz and The Loretta show in the living room. I remember asking "What pill does she have? Grandpa, A Magic Pill boy. Comparing Sissy singing Loretta's songs in this movie I have to say if Sissy was actually trying to make it as a singer in the 50's and 60's I really believe she would have had several #1 records.Her vocals are perfect for those decades, A old soul country western singer.
One greatest song. I try sing it in bar year back but too scared too do it. Do sing like Loretta Lynn . Why enjoy watch movie lots times. So proud of you .
